Great to hear this. When it is ready, could you possibly also release it as a Kitchen? I've gotten spoiled and enjoy tailoring the ROM exactly to my needs. Also, will you include the newer versions of mobile Office?

xplode
4th November 2007, 10:48 PM
I will try to include the latest office version also i will update most of the oem software and services with the latest versions, but the rom space is a lil limited so i will do my best to create at least rom good as helmi's one

Thank you, Xplode.

I assume that this has camera support built in and no MIDI support? Those are the 2 main issues that I have with Helmi's ROM. I don't need the camera support as I have a SX66, but I DO need the Midi support. That's why I use the Kitchen. So i can dump the useless( for me) stuff and replace it with stuff that I need.

I'll be doing some more test but so far I got this bug:

No matter what I can't sync with vista. I get a "error" and that's it.

Before the device was discovered as "BlueAngel" but now it's "MDA III" - probably some registry setting, not a bug.

I'll hardreset it and see what happens.

What's the difference with helmi's rom?
Is it faster? Is it more stable?
Have the BT, wifi issues solved?
The problem that the phone doesn't wake up with a new sms?

Anyway, is this a bug-solved rom or just a core upgrade?

@xplode,

Good to see that you took the leap of faith and decided to cook your own rom. I guess it was only a matter of time before you made a WM6 rom yourself.
Let me ask you though. Is there any chance in hell that the original TouchFLO and Cube Interface can be included in the rom? I read somewhere that the only way to have it in the rom is to build it into the rom.
I guess eFrost's and Slither's cube work great, but it is not as smooth as I guess it would be by being an original application instead of a flash app.
In either case, good job on this :)

Yes the calculator has a bug as many of you guys pointed out, this is because of the skin ... i will fix it in the next release

There is no much space left for touch customization, i have to remove something in order to include other stuff

This rom was ported from wizard rom, as i said it will contain a lot of bugs thats why the WMp version is older it can be easily fixed with simple package replacement from hermes. when the kitchen is almost bugfree i will release it

i am working on another wizard port, namely the fake 5.2.2000

do you have an approximate date when the next release will be?

with the calculator bug and wmp newer version, can we update those using a cab patch, or so we have to re-install new rom (since it is part of the rom)?

thanks a lot

Thanks xplode installed the (AKU_0.7_R0--fixed) working excellent much better than AKU 0.4.2 with some of the bugs fixed. I will test futher & will let you know how stable it is. Once again thank you very much for giving a new life for the BA.

Tested everyting works fine execpt for WMP jitters & the playback speed isnt consistent when played on the speakers but on BTA2DP Headset it plays fine. Did not adjust SDmemory_class, blockTransferSize registry to 64. The LCD light keeps turning on & off by itself even though backlight battery or external power settings have been adjusted. Changing Power setting doesnt have any effect too. This happens when phone lock password is activated. Battery life has improved about 31/2 hrs on continously used. This rom is version is very stable & is fast

Nice ROM...
most of the functions are working fine...
had a general slowdown so defragged the sd card... now the speed is much better.
everything seems to work fine...
bluetooth.. GPSr and stereo headset.
WMP not tested.
Wifi... working fine..

file explorer... would prefer the one helmi provided in his rom. was better as compared to wm$ supplied one.

i'm using garmin que for navigation...
with this rom i'm getting some read access voilations...
also... there is a notification error... which is popping up randomly saying \storage card\garmin\garminque.exe can't be executed...
the problem is i'm not trying to launch it... its trying to launch itself on its own.. which has never happened with the earlier ROMs.

sometimes there is a slowdown launching any program... 4-5 clicks.. nothing happens.. and then suddenly it starts... but system seems to hang for that much time.

Hi Kerio,

With all due respect, I think that this was a legitimate request. Not everyone here knows how to create CAB files and if he wants to ask for it, he may. Nobody HAS to fulfil his request but he can ask for it. This is,after all a help forum and lets face it, we have ALL had much worse requests than this.

Here you go. This utility was developed by dutty. I found this cab with Google search. I have not tested this cab and I am not responsible if anything goes wrong. Use it at your own risk.

Thx
but this is not the same file explorer
could you give me a good exlanation how to dump the explorer from Helmi_C ROM and make it in to a .CAB file

Is there a problem with your mouse - not clicking on search?
Do not expect anyone giving you click by click tutorial as I told you before use SEARCH - do it by your own, dont be the lazy boy waiting for sweets.

Its not easy, but worth a try:)
(And you may already find it as a .cab anyway...)

PS:
Here's the keyword you should discover in previus lecture>
"ROM editing tool"
(there are some tools with GUI, but you know google is waiting for you)

I notice few cosmetic issues which Xplode can take care in future versions:

1. MS Note is added to Accessories, its better if it gets added to Office folder
2. Home plug-in provided by Xplode xplode-HTCHome.v2_1_1005722_s0-all_device.cab is a 5 button plug-in whereas Helmi's home plug-in Helmi HomePlug_Comp.cab is better with 6 buttons
3. Comm Manager provided in the ROM doesn't integrate well asthetically and is inferior to the one provided by Helmi HTCCommManager.cab
4. WiFi connection problem has remained
5. Contacts multi selection problem has remained but can be solved by using other cab.
6. It may be better if the bottom tray is tweaked in the ROM itself to remove all icons, I had to do it manually.

I´ve created the MMS account with my operator settings under settings -> connections -> connections but when taking a picture it only shows me the option to send it through e-mail and going onto contacts and choosing menu -> Send MMS (mobile) does nothing.

Can you direct me to a thread that shows how to configure it or what else to try ?

6. It may be better if the bottom tray is tweaked in the ROM itself to remove all icons, I had to do it manually.

1. Look at Windows XP for example, notepad is in Accesories folder, not in Microsoft Office folder in start menu so i think this is correct
2.You are right about the home plugin , but it is 6 tabbed version you can enable the missing tab trough Start=>Settings=>Today=>HTC Home, also you can change the tabs order from there, i can make a cab with all the tabs enabled by default, but this is not an issue
3.The comm manager used in rom was used because of its size, the newer comm manager are larger, and the other comm manager is mine not helmis :) but this does not matter to me
4.If you learn a lil more about windows mobile you will find out that making WM6 to work on a device manifactured in 2004 is not such simple task, the drivers are not quite good for wm6 and wm5 also they do not fit fine with comm manager
5.This as you said is fixable and can be included in next rom, but i dont think that this is usable feature
6.You can made a cab that can perform this for you, i can not make personal roms, i make common ones that can be tweaked to fit anyone needs

Thanks for your reply xplode. Issues pointed were mainly minor cosmetic issues.

Sorry for wrongly stating Helmi HTCCommsManager, actually I wanted to say one which was released for Helmi's ROM :) Every one knows you gave us add ons to basic ROM.

One more problem I faced recently, that is "infinite boot time" after reset. It happenned when I added few more cabs to the system (NetPlug.cab, GSFinder.cab and tsynch.cab) though can not still pin point. I dont remeber how these cabs sneaked into my collection for WM6.

I installed xplode-HTCHome.v2_1_1005722_s0-all_device.cab and noticed the following difference with old home cab:

1. It installs a tab in Todays screen which can be used to select / deselect and order Home tabs using a simple GUI.

2. Favorite People screen displays a symbol for the selected phone if there are more than one phone. This phone symbol is displayed on top of the associated picture of the person if there is any.

How's the BT?
I suppose the upgrade is like with Helmi C 's descibed here (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel_WM6_WizzardUpgrad e4) ?

Oke done. Now I couldn't get into this debugger screen so I did the upgrade without NO, YES, YES Later I found out, by accidently pushing a button to get into the debugger screen. Strange enough on my QTEK 9090 this is another canbination of keys. So I changed the debugger options after I had upgraded. Could that give a problem?

Bug?
After upgradig I noticed I don't see a signal quality (signal strenght) in this bar in the wireless screen while I am connected.

Why do I continue to get "Roaming icon" triangle after upgrade to the ROM?

I never saw it before with WM2003SE. SIM card is same and location is same. Is there a problem with ROM basic settings for Cingular / AT&T?

hendrixus
25th November 2007, 02:38 PM
I have noticed there are some wifi issues with this ROM

The signal strenght bar is not filled because the signal strenght is too weak while my router is in the same room, the livin. I check with another device and it is on full strenght. Not on the BA though. But it was with WM2003SE approx. the half bar and also on Helmi C's R0 ROM

Second. At times the wifi cannot be switched on via the Comm Manager. So this must be done on the "main"tab of the wireless Lan util. But sometimes I can't and have to use the Comm Manager. This problem also occurs with Helmi's R0 ROM

Third. The icon in the lower right corner the comm Manager icon shows not the Comm Manager which you click on it, but the the "main"tab of the wlan util.

Forth. When I reset I see the bootloader (3 colored) screen first

Not really big problems but it would be nice if they could be solved.

About flight mode i will say this, it takes the radio to turn on 5 min(!) working but god damn slow, i am still looking for proper solution fot this problem

I am working on rebasing all drivers which gains hell of a lot performance, also i have made module based package for camera which speeds up the camera app up to 50%

I can release alpha build of this rom but it is not ready and has some bugs, first stable by my opinion rom with rebased drivers and oem stuff will be released as kitchen so you can cook your own roms with your own customizations so everyone to make the rom of their liking.

If i understood correctly from other post in the forum, this problem is probably the same as the Wifi and BT issue. Drivers incompatibilty with WM6.

What works for me to turn it on is go to phone -> menu -> options and they when it says "phone is off do you want to turn it on" say yes. No soft reset needed.

For me is the same logic as the workaround for wifi.

Haven't downloaded the new one yet, but I've used the older one heavily since I put it in and it's been ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Can't wait to get the new one on - seriously appreciate the work.

Helmis was brilliant, but this is sublime - for me, it's as stable as it was on WM2003. It does everything I want it to with not a hiccup.

One thing, though - I never bothered extending my memory before upgrading from 2003. Is it worthwhile going back and doing it? Do I get anything other than a few MB for device storage? Also, does having low storage space slow performance at all? I come from a desktop background, not PDAs, in case you couldn't tell!

Thanks Xplode.

No radio toggle trough comm manager has nothing to do with my previous rom, and here it works in single tap - tap flight mode and radio turns off, tap the phone/flight mode and radio turns on. Work like it should be. In my previous rom rilgsm.dll (the phone driver) was included as file this means that if its loaded into memory on startup it does not unloads, but when you switch to flight mode comm manager forces the driver to unload, it unloads fine, but when you try to load the driver again (turn on the phone) it takes time for the driver to load (5-10 min - hell of a lot). When the driver is added as module the driver has reserved space to memory, and WM can control its loadin and unloading very fast

1. Does it still have .NET V2 or the newer V3.5?
2. What exactly is achieved by "rebasing" the drivers?
3. What IS rebasing?
4. Any chance of integrating ftouchflo/ctl/cube into the ROM? I think that most of us here are using your htccube and if it could be integrated, that would be great.
5. How soon do you guesstimate a Kitchen will be released?

I have installed the latest ROM (version 6.00.00) and have the following observations;

Install worked fine :)
Everthing so far is working fine :)
Radio on/off is working fine :)
HTC Touch theme is missing

Thanks again for all the great work xplode!

Have loaded the new ROM with all my EXTROM extras and apps. My first impression is that this ROM is Super FAST!! Much faster than your older one. Everything seems to be Running well including GPRS, BT headphone, GPS. I'll report back in the next day or two about stability. As usual, I'm looking forward to the kitchen version.:)

May I also suggest that because this is a new ROM, you should start a new thread for it?

Do we need to SetOperator in ROM to get rid of "Roaming traingle" ? I was trying to do that but it asks for password and "newdevicesuck" doesnt work for ROM modifications.

Hi Explode, many compliments for your great job.
I'd like to know if could be possible to make a cab to solve the problem for the wifi component also for other roms (italian ones for example with aku 070) or must be modified the whole rom.

Thanks

Yep, downloaded it this morning, had to flash right away :p Great ROM, much faster than helmi_c which I tried before.

Something I would like to see, though: I have O2 WAP Flat (Germany) and this ROM is missing the following reg key (was working with the helmi ROM):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Internet Settings]
"UAProf"="http://config.uaprof/xda.xml"

Would be great if you could include it.

Apart from that, BT is working but with my Jabra BT250v still no luck (lots of static, crackling noises).

WLAN works with the known trick, but would often not connect the first time, have to switch it off and on again to make it connect. (Maybe it's because it is hidden network or WPA-PSK?)

Great to see ClearType switched on by default!

Something else: Why can I not change button no 7? It is always being reset to wmplayer when the device is rebooted.

And how can I make the WLAN stay on even after the device goes to standby mode? It is annoying if you make a VoIP call and the phone goes to standby and thus disables the WLAN.

Keep up the good work  ! I'm going to donate soon...

Was using previous version before upgrade, I was able to go into HTC Customizer and click (download appearance).

But with this version, I get:

Do you have an active data connection such as WiFi or GPRS? Even with the disabled icon in the comm manager my device still connected when WiFi was running otherwise it would connect GPRS for me.

Hi,

This ROM runs fast...
But, I faced some issue with listening mp3 with the default Microsoft BT stack.
And if flashing to the Broadcom 1.7 stack, there will be no voices coming out when calling the phone.
The previous Helmi's WM6 R0 dont face this kind of problem when pair with Broadcom BT stack.

Anyone using Helmi's Broadcom BT stack here? Might to share how is the result?

If it is part of the rom, the only soulution to uninstall would take out the .net from the rom and re-flash a new rom without it (an then you install the new .net OR include the new .net within the new rom you are installing). you will need a kitchen tool for that, and I dont think Xplode has released any kitchen for this version yet....

But I dont think this version has .net in it. Does it? cause I think I installed "shutdownme" which requires .net and it didnt work...
Xplode, can you let us know please?

for the .NET CF 3.5 I think xplode will do some experiments first before he implements into his builded ROM as he mentioned earlier.

.NET CF 3.5 may be good to have but I hv read it Windows Mobile 6 does not need it, its designed to work on 2.0. Are you aware of any new apps that require 3.5? It should not happen that we landup having both 2.0 as well 3.5 on our devices and loose space just to run few new apps. Like when CF2.0 was introduced, it was necessary to have 1.0 too if we were running 1.0 based apps as 2.0 does not include 1.0

i recently heard, that if you flash your device with your battery only at for example 50%, the device will "think", that this is the fully loaded battery and never charge more than that.... could not believe that, but the person, who told me insisted, that this was true..... or is it?

So that doesn't really matter...

I tried to use this ROM with Nokia N95 as external Bluetooth modem.
Even though the DUN setup seems to went fine, it doesn't work.
When I am trying to dial ANY number. it simply does not connect to DUN service on my N95.

The reason why I am doing that is simple. I have BA as navigator in the car and N95 is my regular phone and only one SIM card. Also, N95 works in 3G/HSPA networks, which supposed to provide faster Internet, if it would work with BA as external Bluetooth modem.

I haven't tried any other ROMs though.
However, does anyone know what could be a problem in this case?

Well, the point was to use mobile phone as modem, actually sharing one SIM card between two devices.

However, BT transfer rate is 1 Mpbs without EDR. The effective speed is usually less than 50% rated speed, so if assume that it's 40% from 1 Mpbs, that would be 400 Kbps, which is anyway fatser than GPRS Class 10, which is 48 Kbps at most.

Anyway the point is that my BA is mounted in the car and I there is no need to access Internet from it when I am not in the car :)

Great news for all those of us who have been having problems with the new version of QD. JasonStern over in Kona_mtbkr's Ftouchflocontrol thread posted a cracked version which doesn't check hardware type and it solved my problem:).

QD now works on my BA and it is fast!! no more 3-4sec delay every time it comes up. Here is the link to the post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=447 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1729867&postcount=447)
and the cracked version:QuickDial-2_5_906_718-DeviceCheckPatched.zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=61263&d=1197386158)

I replaced the old QuickDial.exe with this file you posted, but the face QuickDial can't use. Can you help me?

Yes, it works smoothly.

One thing I noticed, e.g. if I open IE from the cube and then close IE, cube also gets closed. Is this the desired behavior?

Yes, file is OK.

I had earlier reported that HTC Cube is working OK but it has a problem.

I had installed xplode's latest HTC Home with 6 buttons, but when I installed HTC cube, favorite people button disappeared on HTC Home. I tried to set it right but could not, so I uninstalled HTC Cube and the missing button reappeared.

RUU_BA_xplode_WWE_6.00.00 ROM works great on my XDAIIs.

I read all posts and realized that Xplode release new ROM again. What's the ROM you guys are using. number 1,2 or 3.
I am using 1st ROM(on the following list) , is it the lastest one????

Download:

RUU_BA_xplode_WWE_6.00.00.exe ! Password: ph20b
BA_5.2.1933_AKU_0.7_R0-xplode-fixed
BA_5.2.1933_AKU_0.7_R0-xplode Password: testing

Very nice ROM indeed, Xplode. I love it. Thank you for a hard-work contribution.

Dear xPlode,

There is a large RAM in BA
can you cook RAMdisk version 32 or 64 MB ?
because I think it's useful to store ringtones (faster to retrieved than store in SD Card)
or teach me how to do that?

You can put the ringtones inside /Windows/Rings/ folder.

Every thing stored in RAM vanishes if the battery goes dead, so we are back to same old concept of WM 2003 SE if we save programs / utilities in RAM and to have backup, one would need to use ROM or Storage Card.

I try version 6 and my 9090 work fine. (i try to whrite ingles)

Analise:

batery in my 9090 no problem and don´t dry, work fine (100%)
speed (better version this)

problems:

if you unplug SD the 9090 don´t refresh the data (new data), you go to see the same data.
one exemple , i put my SD in my PC and copy one file (jpg) and put in my 9090 and i don´t see the new file, same files. but if i (reset) the 9090 the windows refresh the SD and now i see the new files. i don´t have this problems in W2003 se.

Good job, ;)
