This time, I propose to make something focused essentially on speed, stability, memory and storage rather than spending time with aesthetics.


So, inside you'll find basically only the Operating System, with its' basic functionalities. All the rest, you can install by yourself, according to your needs.
It doesn't make sense to fill storage, with applications that you will never need.

Concerning the aesthetics, there are a lot of themes out there...it's just a matter of searching!


I also want to share with you, the best way to make your updates of firmware, as most of the bugs that we find, are the result of a bad-flash. Most of the times, of you re-flash, the bugs disappear.
To avoid this, this is how I flash my roms:

1. Hard Reset your device, pressing OK at the end
2. Before it starts rebooting, make another Hard Reset, but now don't press the OK button. Instead, remove the battery!
3. Wait 1 minute. While you wait, remove the storage card and the SIM card as well
4. Put the battery inside the pda again.
5. Press the buttons Camera + Power + Reset (with the pen, on the bottom of the pda) until you see the screen with color strips
6. Insert usb cable
7. Start flashing the device, as you always do.
8. As soon as it reaches 100% on the screen of the pda, it becomes black for a couple of seconds. Then, make a hard-reset, and press ok.
9. Make another hard reset, but now, but now don't press the OK button. Instead, remove the battery!
10. Wait 1 minute
11. Re-insert the battery, memory card and SIM card
12. With the pen, press the reset button on the bottom of the pda until it starts.
13. Have FUN!!

For those who loose their WIFI settings after a softreset, please follow these instructions (thank's dta1974):

[!] For prevent password and account dissapearing u should (you should make this procedure immediately after first soft reset ):
1. Set up your connection settings
2. Open IExplorer / Set up Internet connection / Open some internet page
3. Click Disconnect button to close internet connection
4. Hold power button and turn off your phone
5. Power on your phone.
After that procedure your password wont disapear. I think that you should repeat the same for mail account (set up mail account / try to send or recieve your mail / hold disconnect button / turn off your phone)

The backlight bug seems to be fixed and regarding windows media I have to put a codec on windows folder in order to watch tv.

I too am not able to turn off the unit with the power button, not that I would want to but I can't even if I wanted too. what would happen if your unit died from a dead battery? would the unit come back on when the battery recharged some or would you have to hit the power button, which is not working? Just wondering. Other than that this rom is GREAT and FAST!!!

Installed 3.3.2

Couple of things I noticed right away.

- As indicated by someone else, can't power off unit completely by holding power button. Should be there, there are times when you want to power off the unit completely, save power for one last call when no charger around, hospitals ect.

- Also as indicated, the comm manager is really nice but it doesn't include an option to disable push email.

- Icons missing in Program folder for things like Windows Media Player ect. Not sure if you made it this way on purpose or just an oversight but should be they are standard on WM6 aren't they

- I agree with another poster, it is a clean rom, bring it down to the default theme only, people will install the one they want

Couple of suggestions

I've noticed changes from version to version. Unless changes absolutely necessary to fix problems, would be better to keep them at a minimum. I mean let's get all the bugs worked out instead of possibily introducing new ones (like holding power not shutting unit off). Then when it's considered bug free can jump to 3.4 with new enhancements like more storage, memory ect.

I know you're putting your own time and probably too much work but would be better to list all bugs fixed instead of taking a page out of Apple's books with "Lots of bugs fixed" or really in Apple's case lots of program enhancements :) This is purely for tracking purposes so we can see what bugs are fixed and confirm them. Maybe good to add a list of all known confirmed bugs that you indend to fix in the next version on the first page. Hopefully to help reduce repeated posts on the same problem and make it easier to track and fix bugs.

Finally, Great work on the rom, a clean rom like this is is exactly what a lot of people wanted and needed!

I use Phone Alarm to forward my calls to home or office when synced and changes profiles automatically depending on weather I am connected to active sync. I can sync just fine if I leave Setting>Connections>Usb to PC checked but the problem is it does not stay synced and leaving that setting also breaks my Card Export II connectivity so I can use my phone as a card reader or usb drive (which I also need). If I uncheck USB to PC then the phone does not even sync at all. I have also noted that I am using the same software and setting as the previous version but this one seems more choppy and unstable. I have reloaded my phone with the other versions and did not need to reset other than installing software. Just using this one for the last 15 mins. I had to reset 5 times. Look like I will skip this version to go back to 3.3.2 till the next version. Any help?

Ok... here an update on what I found. Just to prove that it was nothing I had installed and cleared the memory, reflashed then started the bone stock rom. I unchecked USB to PC and I am still not able to sync and this is the error that ActiveSync gives, "Cannot communicate with the PC because of the following Remote Networking error (Error 608). Please reconnect your device. If the problem persists, restart the device." I restarted and got the same thing. If I recheck USB to PC then I am able to Sync to not use my device as a usb drive and Activesync randomly disconnects. Hope this helps.

You don't loose data on the card when you flash with it inserted. At least I never did and I always flash using the SD Card method.

For some reason when I flash a ROM with my Storage Inserted, my screen just fades out into oblivion (screen blackens out). I believe that I read somewhere that it's because sometimes the MiniSD card does not make good contact with my trinity...

This just occurred recently, since then I always remove my SD Card prior to flashing... only way to seem to work for me...

Nice, the esmertec jbed on 3.3.3 wasn't working very well.. Opera Mini4 couldn't connect to the tubes and gmail complained about missing certificates, jad files weren't associated with jbed either.

3.3.4 still downloads ALL email from GMail using IMAP.

I would be more than happy to volunteer to be a beta tester. I use sprite backup to upgrade to the latest rom so loading a rom then software only takes about 30 mins so I can test roms VERY quickly.

Suggestions to Mary:

Firstly I will say that your Rom in my opinion is the fastest and possibly the most stable of all the WM6 roms, which gives you a good edge over all the other roms. Now here is why I don't use your rom.

1. While there is no other rom that offers 80mb of storage, you don't offer a full version which is nice too. Many people like myself simply don't have the time to download "thousands" of cabs and spend a thousand more hours waiting in "ine" for rapidshare to let us download more .cabs I personally would much rather have a rom already loaded with applications rather then spend all the time it takes to download, wait in line and install etc. If if have a few applications I don't need it really doesn't bother me. Mabey at some point I will decide I do need it, and if it takes up 1. whatever amount of space that it does that is just fine. I am more than happy with all the time it saves me and I still get a very fast and stable rom with everything already loaded for me.
If you can't decide what application to choose, just pick the ones you think people find most popular like gps applications, voice recorder, java, registry editor, advanced config etc.

2. Whether it be full or lite version you should have four options when installing a .cab. 1.store to device 2. store to memory card 3. store to network 4. store to extended rom that will make your rom more appealing to people, because its more options.

3. Not as important but more of a preference, you certainly don't have to but I think that the startup image that guybrush's lasagna uses is the most popular and you should use it in your rom if you personally don't really care about the startup image.

Final notes: I think your rom is great and has a real edge and currently you are in the lead. Karmba is trailing but you somehow managed to knock him off the first page which is impressive. mUn is busy trying to "crystalize" him rom someplace and bepe allowed some people that take 8 weeks or longer to repair a device so you don't have to worry about competition there for the moment...AX3L some rumors say he quit and your only real competition for right now is Karbma who has a very good roms. If you stay with the lite you have only selected fans...if you have lite and full people can choose as with Karmba...my analogy to that is think of Kodak...For the longest time they thought that they could still have competition by just staying with the self developing camera...until digital cameras came out...like full version roms...two seperate things but similar concepts. Just something to think about.

All I can say if I use this method extensively thought 30+ rom upgrades and I have never had a problem yet. It has saved me buttloads of time as I have about 30 programs loaded + settings. Just select ROM upgrade when you do a restore onto the new rom from your old backup. Hope this helps.

Wolfy's right, people don't have time to search for individual files, and these devices are supposed to make our lifes easier, the simpler they're to maintain/customize to our needs, the better.

There's no need to release different rom editions, the process of creating those editions is as simple as clicking checkboxes and a button if I'm not mistaken( after you have all the packages and base rom of course ).

So, I understand that storing these roms and packages on xda server may annoy microsoft and others, but why not join efforts and create a Really Simple Tool to cook roms(simpler than buildos+packagetools2)? I'm not(no longer that is) talking of fetching them and packages automatically from a server( that'd be sweet ), but people could download only the base rom, completely clean(as technically possible, rendering it unusable w/out additional packages), download the packages(stored on a single location please), the tool could be used to install them( avoid browsing the file system ), and you'd need only to select the packages you want to include( ability to save package sets would be nice ).

#2 You have modest chef's and one's that are not so modest. Yes there are some cooks that just take the time to put up ther roms whether they're obsolete or very good because it's makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside...then you have cook's like mUn who work hard build up anticipation for rom releases and during that time mUn just DEVOURS the attention and praise that he just can't do without AND he encourages more donations that way too! Hellonasty is among the very few and selective ELITE cookers who are good to the heart chef/citizens because they take out their time to please other people without a way to recieve any donations which enforces their goodwill and kindheartedness that CANNOT BE DENIED! They refuse to accept donations because they know money is the root of all evil and they can live life comfortably without the GREED!

#2 You have modest chef's and one's that are not so modest. Yes there are some cooks that just take the time to put up ther roms whether they're obsolete or very good because it's makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside...then you have cook's like mUn who work hard build up anticipation for rom releases and during that time mUn just DEVOURS the attention and praise that he just can't do without AND he encourages more donations that way too! Hellonasty is among the very few and selective ELITE cookers who are good to the heart chef/citizens because they take out their time to please other people without a way to recieve any donations which enforces their goodwill and kindheartedness that CANNOT BE DENIED! They refuse to accept donations because they know money is the root of all evil and they can live life comfortably without the GREED!

#3 If they cooked the Rom for their needs why the heck would they post them on this forum in the first place!?!?! Why would cooks like Mary ask for users input?!?! Why would Karmba listen to his fans like myself and implement their suggestions into their roms that are for their needs!!!!!????

Suggestions to Mary:

Firstly I will say that your Rom in my opinion is the fastest and possibly the most stable of all the WM6 roms, which gives you a good edge over all the other roms. Now here is why I don't use your rom.

1. While there is no other rom that offers 80mb of storage, you don't offer a full version which is nice too. Many people like myself simply don't have the time to download "thousands" of cabs and spend a thousand more hours waiting in "ine" for rapidshare to let us download more .cabs I personally would much rather have a rom already loaded with applications rather then spend all the time it takes to download, wait in line and install etc. If if have a few applications I don't need it really doesn't bother me. Mabey at some point I will decide I do need it, and if it takes up 1. whatever amount of space that it does that is just fine. I am more than happy with all the time it saves me and I still get a very fast and stable rom with everything already loaded for me.
If you can't decide what application to choose, just pick the ones you think people find most popular like gps applications, voice recorder, java, registry editor, advanced config etc.

2. Whether it be full or lite version you should have four options when installing a .cab. 1.store to device 2. store to memory card 3. store to network 4. store to extended rom that will make your rom more appealing to people, because its more options.

3. Not as important but more of a preference, you certainly don't have to but I think that the startup image that guybrush's lasagna uses is the most popular and you should use it in your rom if you personally don't really care about the startup image.

Final notes: I think your rom is great and has a real edge and currently you are in the lead. Karmba is trailing but you somehow managed to knock him off the first page which is impressive. mUn is busy trying to "crystalize" him rom someplace and bepe allowed some people that take 8 weeks or longer to repair a device so you don't have to worry about competition there for the moment...AX3L some rumors say he quit and your only real competition for right now is Karbma who has a very good roms. If you stay with the lite you have only selected fans...if you have lite and full people can choose as with Karmba...my analogy to that is think of Kodak...For the longest time they thought that they could still have competition by just staying with the self developing camera...until digital cameras came out...like full version roms...two seperate things but similar concepts. Just something to think about.

Hi all, I broke my record by submitting my first post since I joined this forum. It is the fact that I felt irritated with some people, especially in this thread that do not appear to appreciate other people’s work.

s1rl4ncel0t was right. Cookers are not servants. We should be thankful if they fulfilled our request. Nowadays, not many people do work out of courtesy. We are lucky to have Hellonasty to cook ROMS for us.

Yea, yea, I do get pissed off with Hellonasty because of his frequent release in a short time period, where, I have to reinstall all my programs and games, which really, pain in the ass, as the backup/restore does not really work. But that does not mean I should condemn his work. As the matter of fact, I came to realize that he’s doing his best to fix all the bugs as quick as possible.

So, many thanx to Hellonasty for his great work and from nowadays onward, I’ll try my best to make contribution for the development of this ROMS.

I would like to comment for some people in this thread, asking for Mary’s ROMS to be in lite or full version. For his reason, he said he’s tired of reinstalling all his programs, I mean, you got yourself a wrong ROMS. Mary ROMS is about options and freedom. You get to choose what programs you want to install and you get to save your space from useless programs. To me, I’ve been long waited for something like this and now I got it.

After i flashed the ROM, I pressed the right soft key that is assigned to contacts, and Random Access was working. Changed regional settings, time zone and clock, installed network wizzard and configured the device for my country. powered down the device, powered up the device again.... then restored my contacts with PIMBackup, after this, Random Access is not working. Installed a registry editor and checked the entry:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\11 3]
that was, in fact empty, where should be something like this:
Default=Contacts
Open="\Windows\RandomAccess.exe"

Oh! and thanks for going back to the default dialer skin, and i see you liked my icons for comm manager ;)

Cannot communicate with the PC because of the following Remote Networking error (Error 608). Please reconnect your device. If the problem persists, restart the device.


After a hard reset/totally fresh install (i.e. no other software on) the message is
Cannot open the connection '`57600 Default'. This connection is no longer valid or does not exist. Select a different connection and try again.


Again, this only happens with 3.3.4 and 3.3.5, (works with 3.3.1 and 3.3.2).

Gonna revert to 3.3.2 for the time being.

Since release 3.3.4 i've been unable to sync my HTC with Activesync!

I know that the problem is not with my PC because it works with 3.3.0 to 3.3.3 and with every other room... Please check if activesync is working correctlly in this room! Maybe is a bug of some kind!!

And congratilations, Mary SL is the fastest and most stable rom i've ever tried!!

Nice, the esmertec jbed on 3.3.3 wasn't working very well.. Opera Mini4 couldn't connect to the tubes and gmail complained about missing certificates, jad files weren't associated with jbed either.

3.3.4 still downloads ALL email from GMail using IMAP.

Same issue in mary 3.3.5 sl

I needed to reflash again, and after config the Imap Gmail, this problem disappeared!!

The only difference from previous config was changing "Message download limit" from 2kb to 5 kb.

Maybe this was the problem?

Very good the ROM version 3.3.5, after to solve the problem of the CID I installed it easily.Also I installed Destinator 6 es is everything functioning perfectly.

It is functioning very well with the operator CLARO.

that's a very valid point, but if you look at it from the perspective...if we get all those off-topic posts but nothing about the bugs in the ROM that means that maybe there isn't that many bugs...or maybe they're well hidden :)

anyone having problem connecting internet on trinity through pc? (after connected to activesync)

Just buy 3G service, and video call is rotated (posted before..) ;)

Downloading 3.3.5SL and try it a.s.a.p. Would love to try InfoGPS, since GPS Proxy that I am using now is not that informative..

re: Marry 3.3.5 SL Problems

Besides having a horizontal scroll bar when composing a new email, noticed that when you're typing an email and text gets to the keyboard, it gets cut off, constantly have to scroll down to see what you're typing.

Not a bug, but consider a com manager with the ability to enable/disable push email as is common on all standard roms.

Other than that, this is the best version yet. Seems to be a lot few bugs being reported on this version, good work.

unfortunately, it isn't something related to my computer. It does it on every computer I have, and only since Mary 3.3.4 (works fine with Mary 3.3.2 and below). The specific issue is connecting through USB to a program that must use the non-advanced network functionality (under USB to PC in Settings/Connections).

I can still activesync via BlueTooth.

Problem found:
After restoring backup file (created using Sprite), all MMS-SMS is gone. But contacts, picture are ok.

Just thought I'd through my 2 cents in. This is a VERY good rom, the only problem I have seen so far is the fact that you can't sync with the USB to PC box unchecket but other than that it is very fast and stable so far. This version is what 3.3.1 and 3.3.2 should have been... VERY GOOD JOB. let me help further.

I don't seem to be able to connect to GPRS/3G anymore on this ROM, while on 3.3.4 it worked without problems. I've installed the settings using the Network Wizard.
Disabled/Enabled the phone and 3G, softresetted, all to no avail.

SDcard method worked GREAT for me...

Just rename the "RUU_signed.nbh" file to "TRINIMG.nbh" and copy that file to your SDcard.
Install the SDcard into your phone.
Hold the "Power" and "Camera" buttons down on your phone and then push the "Soft Reset" button on the bottom with your stylus.
It will restart your phone and start installing from the SDcard.
You will be asked to push the "Power" button to start the install, go ahead and do that.

In a couple minutes, Voilla!

PS: I found that I had to format my SDcard as Fat32 for this to work.

And what is the best way to flash this rom, as i found 3 different ways of doing it:
I. Found on the first page of this thread made by the author (which is not update, as it instructs us to unplug the memory card while on the change log it instructs us to insert it when flashing)
II. The guide from trinityguide.info (which is clear but it seems take more steps then the first one)
III. Using SD card, it seems to be the most simple, but i can't find the clear guide here..
