View Full Version : Not sure if I have a G3 or G4

I have read the threads about determining if you have a G3 or G4, but mine doesn't seem to clearly fall into one or the other. It is a Qtek S200. I am guessing it's a G4 because of the four digits after the decimal point on the spl, but I'm confused by nothing after the 2.09 on the ipl. Anybody know for sure?

ipl 2.09
spl 2.09.0000

Wow zeroed, thanks so much for your helpful response. If anyone out there is actually interested in helping me, I would appreciate it. As I said in my original post, I HAVE done research and found info on determining if you have a G3 or G4.

What I found is:
IPL/SPL: ending in .000 = G3 model
IPL/SPL: ending in .0001 = G4 model

Mine is:
ipl 2.09
spl 2.09.0000

Neither my ipl or spl ends in .000 or .0001, hence my confusion.

well your spl ends at .000 what model do you have then?

lol people are still getting confused ...maybe an extra line in the wiki will help. It now reads...

IPL/SPL: ending in .000 = G3 model
IPL/SPL: ending in .0000 = G3 model
IPL/SPL: ending in .0001 = G4 model

I might be one of them...

I think we have reached a point that there is so much information in XDA, that we might as well close all threads! we dont need people writing anymore because it's already writen!
please try to help instead of making useless coments.

triplejay, you wrote:
IPL/SPL: ending in .000 = G3 model
IPL/SPL: ending in .0000 = G3 model
IPL/SPL: ending in .0001 = G4 model

but in the same forum and in others, I have seen:
this:

G3 DEVICE: IPL/SPL: 1.XX or 2.XX or 2.XX.00X (only two zeros)
G4 DEVICE: IPL/SPL: 2.XX.000X(three zeros)
Note, X is representing a number.

wich I think is a lot more logical...

So if you all can clear me out that would be great!

regards
RP

yes that does seem more logical. Like the original poster, my SPL ends in .0000, though. so...

G3 DEVICE: IPL/SPL: 1.XX or 2.XX or 2.XX.00X (only two zeros)
G4 DEVICE: IPL/SPL: 2.XX.000X(three zeros)
Note, X is representing a number.

even though it makes sense, could be mis-interpreted...."x is representing a number, could that number be 0?"...confusion lol

Ummm, no Zeroed, I am not still confused. Unlike you, triplejay and tropheuz actually gave me helpful information that answered my question.

well,greeting then,and btw the keyword is :

spl ending at 1 - G4 model
spl ending at 0 - G3 model

but i am sure even after this, there will be many others like you, which still will be "confused" lol
