F.A.Q: PLEASE READ IT BEFORE POST YOUR QUERY


When you flash a new ROM, you will loose all your data!!! take this in consideration. So, you will make a full reinstallation of all your personals applications


1: I don't have "data disconnection and timer" in the taskbar and "beam" (IR) in the Comm Manager.

If you don't see keys on dialer or you don't have the data disconnect in taskbar and the beam (infrared) in the commmanager that's because you used the schap's advanced configuration.
to enable both again go to programmes\Outils\Config. avancée go to connections tab and check "GPRS\3G disconnect and timer" then in comm manager tab assign "beam" to Button 10, check that "show video dialer" in phone tab is checked.

take care when you used advanced config for the first time, to verify this things before saving.


2: ROM update Error: see very well made colrou's page about this HERE (http://colrou.free.fr/CODES-ERREURS.html) (in french)

-Use XP not Vista
-If you're stuck on bootloader (three colors screen showing IPL: SPL: ), start again update app without removing USB or restart the Phone


3: Startup animation:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\StartupAnimation]
-pour la désactiver totalement, mettre "Enabled"=0
-pour désactiver le volume mettre "Volumn"=127


4: Backup (SPB, Sprite Backup, ...):

Never restore a FULL backup from another rom version. (backup from mine previous version too). it'll overwrite system files which are not compatible with new release.


5: How to avoid the automatic MMS connexion to the 3G network?

1/Menu Démarrer>Messagerie>Menu>Options>MMS and uncheck "Récupérer messages immédiatement"

2/in HTCHome plugin, click on "select your city">Menu>weather options> uncheck "download auto. data"


6: I can't enable the "favorites" tab after cube's installation:

to enable it:
in registry: [HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\MASD] delete "QuickDial" key


7: I lost my connexions parameters (wifi, 3G)

It's a known issue, that comes from the bad XIP of Official dopod release, used "ALWAYS" POWER OFF (hardware top right button) instead of soft reset.


8: I can't send or receive MMS.

Setup operators has probably set bad or incomplete parameters.
Check you configuration settings, ask your provider for the right settings if you don't know them.


9: I can't sync or see my device with vista.

1/ Used WDMC 6.1 (Windows Mobile Device Center)
2/ In Démarrer/Paramètres/Connexions "USB vers PC" uncheck the option.

I stayed in the 2.4 to a problem of compatibility with Tomtom (I am not V6.3).
But just install 3.6 on the trinity of my brother and he is very happy.

You can use a powerfull tool named htc Home Customizer (that's what I use) :D

when i was on the 3.6 version , i backup the folder "navigator" in program files, and i flash to 4.0 , reinstall tomtom and copy the folder "navigator"

(if i dit that , it's for keep the settings)

i don't know if the id has changed but the traffic works fine , so i think the id is the same ? (because i believe when the id has changed , the tomtom plus account doesn't work anymore)

- launch task manager v2.8 (installed with ROM)
- select regedit tab
- once in regedit, use find and type the following string : htchome
OR
navigate through the registry to HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCHOME
- edit the key named TabSetting by doubletap on it
- by default, with faman's 4.00, you have values "1,2,3,4,5"

What to do :

1 represents the hourTab and 6 represents the profilesTab
If, like me, you use Slithers cube, and you don't need the HTC Contacts tab but you want the profileTab you can edit the key this way : replace "1,2,3,4,5" by "1,3,5,6"

Run the update (olipro's), it will fail at 1%, and the phone stay in the bootloader with the 3 colors.

Dont touch the phone, and run again your Faman 4.0 update.

C'est normal, laisse le faire, normalement, il doit installer un driver de flashage ou klkch comme ça...laisse le faire, ensuite une barre de progression sur fond gris apparaît..laisse tout faire sans toucher (assure toi que tu as suffisamment de batterie qd même)

Cela se passe bien à moins que tu aies un error code bien précis renvoyé par le ROMupdateutility.exe

I have flash with 4.00 and all works well.

For guy have problem like "1% and reboot", I think is because de "Autoriser connexion USB" is checked in the connexion settings in ActivSync. I saided that because I got this problem in the last day when I try to flash for Faman 4.00.

I prefer flash manualy by put the SSPL-Trin.exe directly onmy PDA and run it into this one. But after juste uncheck the "Autoriser les connexion USB" in ActivSync. With this way I think you can flash your PDA.

As some other users had said before, a2dp audio is not working well, it's not working at all actually. Is there any way you can manage to create a quick fix for it as a .cab file Faman? Last version you coocked was working just fine.

I'm using Faman's great 4.0 and would like to set up wap and TV on my trinity.

Could you transmit working registry keys for the extended version of the wap and for tv to work ? I've read many tutorials but there seems to be trouble with WM6. I currently can only get a simplified version of the wap, and where I try to get some video content the wap says that I don't have 3G.

I'm using the v4 for 2 days and had a "crash" during a phone call (I was unable to end the call or do something) the only way was to make a soft reset. I think I will go back to the 3.6 which had never crash or "bugged"

1 - impossible de me connecter sur mon point d'acces wifi je me suis connecté une fois depuis impossible "cle reseau incorecte" quoi que je fasse.
2 - depuis la mise a jour j'utilise active sync une minute puis il se deconnecte tous seul ensuite impossible de le reconnecter de plus mes usb ne fonctionne plus, obligé de reboot (tout fonctionné impec avant).

1-impossible to connect to my WiFi access point I logged only once since impossible "invalid key network " whatever I do.
2-since the update, I use active sync one minute after that active sync disconnected himself impossible to reconnect over my usb no longer works at all
the only way is reboot (everything worked good before).

The probleme with ftouchlo is that when I make a big vertical motion it launches Flash and search a cube not install (I don't want the cube).

I have the same issue. I think i'm going to come back to the 3.6 as I have various issues :

- Sometimes I can only talk about 1 minute, my signal is good. If I make a soft reset it works
- I have the issue with the Storage card, if you do a soft reset you have to take off your storage card and then pull in it again after you have enter your pin code
- The ROM was very fast at the begining and now it turns slowly
- I have some issues with my bluetooth that I didn't have with 3.6

Anyway, good job as always Faman, hope you'll find what is going on with this v4.0. I'm back to 3.6 :D

once again, my report. upgraded to 4.0 + SP1. extremely fast rom for now. no bluetooth prob as reported before, tomtom working great (strange behaviour regarding this activation thing : my P3600 is back to his first tomtom serial. if I'm right, this changed with rom 3.xx can't remember which one exactly. so, if you've installed Faman roms for a long time, and you had to request a new activation number at tomtom's, try your old one if you've experienced a change since 4.00). the only strange thing, and this is not your rom, where is the HTC Home Plug customization gone in "config avancée" ??? I had to edit the registry to hide/show what I need.

I have a problem with all faman roms and maybe all roms. When I launch the RUU, all works well but the install stops at 1% and my P3600 reset. I get [error 270] : The device doesn't response.
It's the first time i flash the windows rom. I've already flashed the radio rom and I use HTC_Trinity_SIM_CID_Unlock_v1.zip to unlock my PPC.

Somebody can help me ?

What is "XIP" and what is "A2DP" please ? :confused:

XIP correspond to "eXecute In Place", it contains system files (kernel, filesystem ,...) placed on an other read only area than main system memory.

A2DP correspond to a Bluetooth high quality profile for streaming, music for exemple, to an other BT device like headset.

Cela fait plusieurs jours que je tente de configurer mon Serveur pour recevoir et envoyer des MMS avec mon S300+ et la rom 4.00 sans succès.

J'ai essayé tous les .cab disponible sur internet, j'ai aussi essayé manuellement mais ça ne fonctionne pas : quand j'essaye d'envoyer un MMS la notification apparait "se connecte à GPRS..." et 1 sec plus tard j'ai une notification "impossible de se conecter".
Quelq'un a une solution?

Yes it's what I meant. In fact it is the 2.1.1005.722 version of htchome.dll that brings the configuration tab in 'paramètres/aujourd'hui'. That is the version you can find in the cab file on the second post of this thread (HTC_Home_v2.1.1005.722_FR.cab) or in the Faman_4.00_SP1.cab file on the fourth post.

Edit : I made the test, it's only the HTC_Home_v2.1.1005.722_FR.cab file that brings you the parameter tab in 'paramètres/aujourd'hui'. The Faman_4.00_SP1.cab only intalls the htchome.dll with the good version (2.1.1005.722) but not the parameter tab.

When I change a value on registry, this value is not saved after a soft reset.
For example If I hide sim contact, after a soft reset sim contact come back !

Value changed before soft reset :
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]

It works great. In fact it is a digital zoom (not optical). So if you are in 2M pixels resolution, you can't zoom. If you are in 1M or lower you can. As simple as that. It was the same behavior with the other ROM (including original SPVM700 ROM from orange)

Version 4.00 installed 10 days ago, everything works well on my s300+ (aka P3600) :)
Just a long time spent to reinstall all my applications, but at least all of them works perfectly.
Same thing for TomTom 6, who have keept same activation number than my old "stock-SFR WM5", so my maps works directly :p

I began with the Faman 3.3 and I installed all 6 versions from there. The 4.01 is for me the best one until now. It is really faster than the 4.0 (slow because of the moded XIP ?).

I've installed the 4.0 one week ago, and it works great (even Tomtom) :D

I just have a few questions :
-is there a way to boost the performances, it looks sometimes a little bit sleepy.
-when I try to make a new email, or if I click on the home plug the email icon, it opens the mail program in the last selected email box (ie: if it is SMS, then it opens the SMS box) instead of the email/outlook box. If I click on the SMS stuff, then it correctly opens the SMS box.
-sometimes, the start menu locks. The title bar is not updated (keep the previous application name), and button or direct click are not able to open the menu
-is there a place with OS release note ? where can we find data about release 5.x.x.x and compare with 5.... ?
-is there an other software for the phone part to replace the HTC one ?
-about SIP, is it possible to install the original software ? is there some issue with 4.00 ROM ?

Hi all,

As usual, I update my P3600 to the last Faman ROM 4.01.

SMS, MMS, WAP, WIFI, BT are OK (with SFR & Radio 1.46).
No bug, but some freeze issues. For example, when I open an app , the phone sometimes is freezed for 10 to 20 seconds before the app is opened...

And I equally notice a strange behaviour with SPB Backup.

Previously, with the ROM 4.0 (and anterior release) the full backup with SPB took e few minutes (I would say never more than 5 minutes).
Currently, with the ROM 4.01, a full backup can take more than 15/20 minutes!!!! (and the restore is equally longer than before).

Anyone else has experienced this problem ?

Apps launch correctly in wifi connection but don't connect in GPRS/3G mode !!!

I must say that this is a great job to have Mobile 6 in S300 but i have troubles with it on my s300:

For batterie drain, no problem for me.

AARRGGHH !!! took some time yesterday to finally update to version 4.01 full, and 4.02 is already out today... you're too fast for me Faman ;)

btw, no prob with 4.01, except a little cosmetic thing (since 4.00) : on HTC home, the carrier sometimes seems not to refresh when it's changing band (from 3G network to single GSM for example). so, you don't see any carrier anymore just upper the time. not really a prob for me, as I use the "Sans fil" today plugin includes in the rom.

Yes, I also experience the same problem with SPB Backup, in fact, since the 4.01 release.
The backup takes more than 15mn (and less than 5mn on the previous release 3.X and 4)...
Strange?
Maybe it is time to test Sprite Backup? :)

I check the log file of my backup with SPB and it seems that there is a problem with the file \windows\lic\Isoma0000000000000.

SPB is unable to backup this file, and it takes long time (18mn for my last backup).

So I choose a custom backup in SPB, and then
system data > Options > customize > and then uncheck \windows\lic.

Then the backup take just a few minutes...

It is great...but I've some questions : what is "\windows\lic\Isoma00000000000" file ? what is the aim of this file ? what is the impact if I don't backup (and so don't restore) this file ?

I found a bug and I solved it. I don't know if this bug was already found (if so, please delete/ignore my post).

After a ROM upgrade, when your device ask you for date/time and you fill it, you have a freeze during post install while installing default theme.

To solved it, please hard reset the device and ignore date/time setting at the first boot (will be automatically set with ActiveSync).

I found an other way to make the upgrade : I took the RUU_signed.nbh of the 4.02 and I install it with the ROMupgrade utility of the 3.4 and it works !
Now I am in 4.02 with the 1.50.08.11 Rom radio. and it works well.

I too miss this link, but there is a simple way to disconnect a data connexion : just hold down the red key for a few seconds and it will disconnect your data connexion (for wifi you have to use the comm manager)

I have used during this year lot of other roms, but sincerely, faman's are the best because of not that it's in french, but Faman maintains a standard, and which is always the same in each rom he makes. So no drastic abnormalities.

I have a solution, i developp a little program named installer which read a ini file to copy or run files automatically after a fresh flash (or whenever you want).
You must put your inifile(install.ini) with the installer in the same directory, run it, and all your favorites, your custom xml weather file, sounds, shortcuts....backedup on your storage card are copied on your device (depends on the settings on you inifile).
You'll find a sample inifile in the zip with comments.

Hello, i have a big problem with the sound when i try to phone to anybody or if i receive a call i hear no sound (even with HP) and the micro doesn't work. And this problem goes on even after a hard reset or a new flash whis this 4.02 rom. Could you help me ?? I didn't have any problem with the 4.01 version

Edit : i've tried and in fact there is the same problem with 4.01 rom but no problem with 4.00 + SP1 cabSame thing for me : it's a problem with network default parameters.

Way to reach it : Start\Parameters\Phone\Band\ => switch to "auto" in the two lists and reboot : magic :D

Your programm seems to be what I look for for many times!!! Thanks.

However, I look into the ini file and I'm not sure that I understand well the principle.

My aim is to be able to automate the installation of many cabs and som *.reg.
How do I have to configure the ini ?
Does the action 2 wait for the end of action 1, and then starts ?

Could you please give some examples, regarding for intance the installation of 3 cabs and one reg ?

1 - Démarrer\Paramètres\Connexions\HSPDA Switch\ and untick "HSPDA" (then reboot)
2 - Démarrer\Programmes\Outils\Config. Avancée\ go to "Phone" tab and untick "Enable DTMF support"
2bis - "Bluetooth" tab and untick "Use joint stereo" (reboot too)

If you can test one thing at a time and reboot after each, it could help because I don't know wich one exactly has solved my problem :confused:

I'm writting about bugs I'm having with the 4.02

In the Today screen settings, the "HTC Home setting" part just stopped displaying
I try to reinstall it with the HTC home.cab, but same thing. Didn't fix anything.

When you try to re-arrange the comm manager elements, the grey-black background just moves with the icon you try to move. Like : if you move the activesync icon (remember it's the last icon on the Comm manager screen so it's got the darkest background,, if you move it to another emplacement, it'll move with its dark background square to it.

Another thing, i wish the Sound Manager could replace WMP entirely, because of its advantage it has as it's more inlaid, more integrated, using touchflo or htc home. Still, when you clicked a mp3 or a vid, it shows up WMA...

For the french people :

You all know they are two versions of the standard keyboard. The one with all the keys, the other one, more convenient. But, on our WM6 rom, the last one is skinned like qwerty but not entirely. Lemme tell yousome examples : The first letters are AZERTY, that's normal, that's cool, but the M is placed at the koma, the 1 2 3...9 part is showing only numbers, fact that is a fits to qwerty...

Another wish : I wish the PhonePad keys were bigger : fusionning "zero" and "minus, major, all major" keys, assign enter, space and back to those maneuvers that are possible with the standard keyboard.

I almost forgot : They are bugs with the headset and the audio booster. Like you activate it, unplugg the headset so it's desactivating the booster, you plug again and the booster freezes or something. try and see

One more (i know, i'm kinda too demanding), one more wish :
With the 4.02 came another today plugin, displaying phone, photo, programme and photo. With my customised htc home, i used to have two shortcuts to HTC album, two to phone because of one softkey, if you count the hardware key, it equals to shortcuts to the camera, and actually, i'm not really using the "programm display". (I use Wisbar to have it develloping&rolling down menu & settings.)
That's to say: May the second plugin be customisable? that would be good. I tried to look in the reg, but nothing appears.

One last thing i promess :
About the HTC album. they are two HTCalbum, the portrait display one, (orange icon), the landscape one. I personnly prefer the last one, filling completly the screen, etc... but it's kinda impossible to find the blue shortcut ! Only for the HTC home plugin. I gues that's the same for the video album.
I may ask what everyone think : can the HTC album replace completly the original and esthetiquely poor builtin album?

Well, I'm finished ! Sorry if i'm kinda too demanding, etc... but my friends and I, noticed these said list but i'm the one that can talk english better than the others......

I intented to custom touchflo shortcuts:

On the media hub, i tried to replace the built in album but the new HTC album. Now it simply opens both of them and the old one doesn't close until the newest does. I tried the same for the video album, same thing happened.

One the 6app face. Well, i can do that replace them correctly that's a good thing but the propper icons are needed. So I let the original 6app for now even if i don't really need email (don't write any), Comm Manager (already in HTC home plugin, SMS (HTC plugin and Action Screen), calendar (I'm a 19years old student), tasks (bis), internet explorer (already in HTC homeplug).

As you can see, it's kinda useless to me lol. Useful when i don't wanna go to to today screen and lauch internet, or open inboxes. But sincerly !!
I know you, faman, didn't started the FLO thing, but i sarted my post here ... !!

Edit : one more idea in fact => try to upgrade your Radio ROM (v1.46.30.11 is the best IMHO) and check again parameters. Perhaps ....

First of all, i want to thank Faman and his team for this great job. I agree with others to say that this rom is really wonderfull.

I just have a little problem with windows live messenger and mms. when i try to connect to windows live messenger, i have an error : " echec de synchronisation". I have the same issue when i select "envoyer/recevoir" in the mms menu : "erreur lors de synchronisation"...

could someone help me please??

I suppose (but perhaps I'm wrong) that your curren ROM includes 2.0 Release.
Any chance to get a new ROM with this .NET release ?
