I just installed the ROM on an O2 XDA. So far it works thanks!
I used the trick to soft restart at the countdown to prevent all the guff being installed.
The main reason for this upgrade was the device using the latest official O2 ROM from I think 2006 the bluetooth does not work properly with my jag hands-free. But with this ROM it seems to work so thanks very much. At last I can use my phone in the car.
The exact version I flashed was using the CID bypassed version, copied in the 3 files from the official Tmobile then replaced one of them with the vanilla install. This I gathered was the thing to do after much forum reading.
I have a few of questions:
How do I select any of the cabs that I skipped installing and install them? Where are they? How do I know what they are and if they are any use?
My old ROM based on AKU2(.2?) had a program called task manager which I used to see what was running and end it (usually the media player). Has this been replaced in this version and if so what by and if not where can I get it?

Phone skin debrand T-mobile?
PsiDOC

@ZŁY$
Let me know how you get on with this mate. Particularly have a look at the MMS settings with the 3UK rom. It went a bit weird with me on the rom install.
Phone skin debrand T-mobile?
It says in the 1st post.....
It's basically the latest (September 2007) AKU3.3 T-Mobile rom but with all the horrid looking branding ripped out and the god awful dialer pad reskinned with O2's much nicer one.
Is that a bit clearer for you?

What radio version are you using mate? I know that 1.18 has some known crashing problems with WM5. The original rom was bundled with 1.17. Perhaps downgrading to 1.15 may sort it out as I know that os rock solid. I am using said bundled 1.17 and have so far only had 1 problem with a GPRS failure to connect. I couldn't pinpoint it 100% to the radio, so I am waiting for it to happen again.
Just my own thoughts.

Thanks PsiDOC for answering. I'm using radio 1.17 and with the official t-mobile wwe aku3.3 i have no problems except:
1) iexplorer unable to connect unless i use a program to tweak gprs settings
2) unable to force manually GSM band

This looks as though it could be just what I need, rather than going to WM6What was taken out from this vanilla version compared to the full flavoured one.
Will you be doing a full flavoured version with your tweaks to get rid of the awfull branding stuff. Regards John
PsiDOC
14th November 2007, 08:20 PM
JohnWB,
The vanilla version is as the rom came from the OEM, in this case T-Mobile, with nothing added into it. The only things changed in the rom is all the T-Mobile branding is removed and the Dialler Skin replaced, purely beus it was painful on the eyes!
A fully loaded version means that extra apps have been added to the rom that saves you the trouble and the storage space. This can be pretty much anything with tweaking of the rom.
I am currently testing this rom with a few apps added in the rom, including:
Opera 8 web Browser,
Ps Shut XP. (WM Reboot Tool)
Registry Editor
Contacts Backup
SMS Message Backup
Notepad
Mobile Office 2007 (Word, Exel, Powerpoint & One Note) - Still Buggy Though
And a few others
Am also thinking about reskinning the entire rom with a "The Matrix" style theme as the default. Maybe I have said too much here....
Sadly am working 10 hours a day, 7 days a week at the mo as we have a big job on where I work, so not much time to progress it at the mo but I am doing a bit where I can.

Re - Internet sharing. This works fine in USB but I cannot get it ti work with bluetooth. I get an error message on Xp "The connection with the bluetooth network device failed" etc.
On thing I notice is that the xda does not seem to be advertising PAN as a service (or indeed any service really other than serial ports).
Anyway are some bluetooth profiles missing - or is this the same with all roms or what do you think?
Thanks

What you need to do is download this cab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=52203&d=1190859345), upload it to the phone and then double tap it to install it.
The Videocall dailler is in there as it's one of the things I changed as the original one was... $&!%. It's just you have not enabled it so the cab does that.
@ adriansuth
I don't know about the bluetooth as I personally don't really use it. I have not touched that side of things in the rom at all. Sorry I cannot be more help than that.

I am afraid that's way beyond me! I believe the bootloader needs to be patched, but I don't know how to do it. Maybe some comments from the seriously technical guys would be appreciated.

Flash using RUU_Updater - sorry for not bundleing it. I thought you'd have it.

AFAIK SDHC is NOT supported. I can try and add it, however I do not have an SDHC card to test, so it may be hit and miss.

Been playing with this as a base rom for about a week, just getting it straight as well as a few tweaks.
It's basically the latest (September 2007) AKU3.3 T-Mobile rom but with all the horrid looking branding ripped out and the god awful dialer pad reskinned with O2's much nicer one.
It's in Vanilla form for now as it seems that is what people want for the moment.
If there's and interest I'll make a fully loaded version.
It retains the splash screen from your previous rom as I didn't know which to put in when the T-Mob one was removed, so I thought I'd leave it open.
Please don;t be concerned that the rom is only 54MB I have tested it on my G4 and am using it now.
Anyways.

Have edited the 1st post to add these.
Thanks again.
For those that need it. The NO CID version of the RUU updater is attached. No CID means it bypasses the country ID error and thus stops you getting the error 120.

Hi
Please excuse my lack of knowhow - but I am a bit stuck.
Currently:
O2 XDA Exec with a rather old o2 official rom:
rom 1.30.107 wwe 04/11/06
Radio 1.09.00
Extrom 1.30.162 wwe
To do this upgrade, I downloaded an exe from o2 and it did the upgrade... but I suspect this time is different!
I have downloaded the nk.nbf from the first post in this thread
I assume I need to get the official t-mobile AKU3.3 from Sept07 and replace the nk.nbf with the one given here. But where do I find that download?
And then how do I do the update (please excuse my confusion, but there seem to be several update strategies out there, not sure which to use...)
Many thanks,
PsiDOC
4th January 2008, 12:48 PM
To flash the rom you dont need the original t mobile rom.
Download the rom from the front page and unpack the nk.nbf file..
Then download the updater from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=60593&d=1196886054
Put the nk.nbf file in the updater folder.
Double click the .exe in the folder.
Follow the onscreen prompts.

Hi to all!
Can I use SDHC 4GB by SanDisk with this ROM? Is it possibile to use VGA resolution in Pocket Internet Explorer?
Which are the applications bundled with this ROM? I.e: Is there a PDF Viewer? :)

It's a common problem. I had it with a cheap 4gb card from that auction site. Pop the card out and pop it back in and it's detected happily. Basically the card is going to sleep and not waking up. If you use a decent branded card it doesn't happen.

Hi PsiDoC,
Eventually i found a bit of time and managed to upgrade my qtek to ur debranded rom.
All i can say is that is running perfectly fine without any crashes for 10 days now. I m quite happy with this release especially with the Internet Sharing functionality as with my original rom i could not get this to work.
Note: I didn't bother upgrading my radio version. I m still using 1.09 and as i said not experienced any problems so far.
PsiDOC

ZŁY$ my old friend. Glad you're happy with the rom. Well as the last official build that anyone has ever done you're now on the newest OEM rom. If you like I can do you a one off with the original Qtek videocall dialpad and graphics. Or are you happy with it as is?
Note to all: I don't do public releases on XDA devs anymore as it seems they are not good enough. This is an offer just for ZŁY$ for all the help in getting me the 3UK extended rom as part of my journey in the development.

I was using your roms on my old I-Mate JasJar when I had it, but I'll be getting an XDA pro in the mail soon, and I'd like to use them again. it seems as if the rom has been pulled from the front page due to posters being lame. If this is the case, is there any way I can get your latest copy of this debranded rom? I'm also interested in trying your other rom with Final in the thread name. Which would you recommend and why? I'm a big fan of your WM5 tweaking and thanks from everyone who doesn't complain.

Hi PsiDOC, I would also appreciate it if you could re-link to your Debranded Vanilla WM5 ROM. I'm not quite willing to move to WM6, as I prefer a speedy and stable WM5 rom. My XDA Exec has and old ROM, and I'm now experiencing problems where the phone will receive a notification/e-mail and will never enter Suspend mode, thereby killing my battery. I've been running this ROM for over a year, so I think it's about time I do a total refresh.
I think your ROM is perfectly suitable for my needs. Please re-release it!
Thanks in advance!

PsiDOC,
Hi mate,
Don't get wound up by those who put your work down or post adverse comments mate.
We are a multilingual forum, and things don't allways come out as intended by some users.
There are the odd few on here who openly flame and disrespect others, we've all been there and had that treatment.
I've been around on the forums for years mate and had plenty of that myself.
Don't let it wind you up, carry on with your work (you are doing a great job) and just ignore the flame posts and adverse comments.
At the end of the day, we do what we do here for free for the benefit of others, and because we enjoy what we do and wish to expand our own horizons and understandings and capabilities of our devices.
Get on with what you enjoy and let people say what they want mate.
If you ever need any help or advice, you know who in this forum can help you, and will all offer as much help as we can. That's what this "Community" is for mate.
Enjoy, and chill.
Don't let the small few spoil it for yourself and those who appreciate your work.
Take care
Best Regards
Cheers,
