1. very eye candy :) something new to see
2. great task manager
3. tested wireless, went on the net using IE.. works well...

havent tested everything else....but I am quite confident everything else should be ok...

Few questions:
1. is there any mms here? I assume No, cause you didnt have it in previous release? and apparently the supplied 2 cabs file from xplode doesnt work on this rom to enable mms.... can you help on this?
2. does broadcom bluetooth stack can be installed on this rom? this is the one from helmi...

I am in the middle of sync-ing with my laptop, and I will test again with bluetooth and other apps....

i have been playing with the rom.. mostly basic functionalities

I can confirm that
1. mms works (send and receive) - use both cabs from xplode/helmi prev
2. gprs works
3. wireless works
4. flightmode from comm manager works
5. slide2unlock 2.19

i havent tested bluetooth, but it seems that is expected to work too...
so far, i am very happy to use this rom..

I'm not an expert in this but i think these guys are doing their best to keep our old BA up to date and for that we should give them a thumbs up for there great work. whoever think it a fake rom just ignore the rom and build your own. If you analize the core you ported you will find out that the core version is patched, also many files are patched too. This rom was created by russian guys and later was edited by members of this forum for an english version.

Also there are 2 known AKU 1 versions in which the build number was reset. If you search a lil you will find out that this is not real build

The ROM originated from 3PPC.RU as 5.2.2000 (Build 5.2.20000.1.0.0), which also includes WMP 11.2 Bulid 20000 is NOT an official WM6 build. It is a russian remake of 5.2.1437.

However, it doesn't mean that is a bad ROM. According to what I see inside, it has been somewhat re-worked and optimized, which probably you can notice too.

As BA user, I would say that I am more interested in having stable and fast ROM, regardless whether or not it is new. That's simply due to the fact that BA is old HW and MSFT does not necessary give a shit on performance optimizing of their OS as they assume that new WM versions will be run on something more powerful than 4-5 years old PPC.

But there are lots of small cells all filled with numbers and alphabets on the screen. Which value needs to be changed to effect the changes you mentioned?

as for Minthran, what would you say on this - people are accusing you for creating false built aku rom... ???

dont get me wrong, I am not trying to get into anybodys side... I am just trying to be as objective as possible, and looks to me that there are 2 sides - people who dont care with what build it is (cause its a great rom and as usable as other roms) and people who are not happy (keep listing short post accussing it is a fake rom)

I am actually at the moment using this rom, and I think its great - you can see from my earlier post that I was and still am actually very grateful and thankful to the creator of this rom - it looks to me that they did a lot of work to make this rom works as efficiently as possible...

the whole point is that I would like to know the truth. Apart from that, I am really a happy user of this rom built (I chose this over Xplodes cause the build looked newer and more eye candy hehehe - this is purely from a user pov).

If yes, this is already only 60 mb, out of which I hardly have 10mb free, whereas the program memory is quite large. Do you think the page pool can pick up space from the program memory? As you would be aware, as you keep installing programs, the storage memory keeps getting gobbled up much faster than the program memory. Any solution?

U're correct.

For 32MB pagepool, u'll get 93.06MB of Total Program Memory,
while for 48MB pagepool, u'll get around 77.04MB Total Program Memory.

Finally succeeded in changing the pagepool through the hex editor and re flashing my phone. Thank you for all the advice and help.

The creators of this ROM truly have done a most fantastic job. I have people around me at my workplace, who have the latest models of O2 and HP with 1gb flash memory and the stuff, but still none of them compare with the performance of my blueangel. Cheers to all those who have put in so much efforts into creating this ROM.

Do you know of any way of changing the startup screen? Since the startup screen is modified, am assuming there would be some way of changing that also through the hex editor. Hope someone can help with this.

Yo.. this works great, been using it for over a year for BA and Wizard. Get it to .nb and just click custom and pop in your value. then convert back to .nbf etc.. you know the drill, anyways seems to save time. It says "hermes" but of course can be used with any device, I use it with both of mine. Try this .tsk (theme out as well, looks sweet on this)

Hi!

I did as follows..
* xda3nbftool.exe -x nk.nbf nk.nbh 0x20040521 to convert to nk.nbf

* open nk.nbh with pagepool changer posted by BA_Flash_GOD

* since I couldn't change the pagepool to 32 or 48MB with this program I used the adress supplied in the bottom row ie: offset: 2555d2 and used xvi32 hexeditor and supplied this adress in the goto menu.

* at this adress you will find 00 00 00 01 with the underscored zeroes marked. This means 16MB page pool. 8MB is 00 00 80 00 for example and if you want 32MB it's 00 00 00 02. 48MB is 00 00 00 03.

* save the nk.nbh

* use xda3nbftool.exe -c -u nk.nbh to update checksum

* then xda3nbftool.exe -x nk.nbh nk.nbf 0x20040521 to convert back

* flash

Check if the trick works by checking the total program memory in the memory settings. ~109MB = 16MB pagepool ~93MB =32MB and ~77MB = 48MB

Worked for me with the PV.HAT rom aswell as xlodes

You have to go to "custom" there and then you can pop in any Pagepool you like bra!

I used oldschool typho5.exe -x nk.nbf and grab 80040000-OS.nb open the pagepool editor and open. it defaults for .nbh files but you can hit the combo box and see all rom compliant files (.nb) open it up, change then nb2nbf to convert back. Takes seconds

But when I eventually try to flash, it says, this is not a valid ROM for your device... weird... I'll continue my search, at least I've found at which address my pool size is now, that already a big one :-)

Ok I've managed to get there (Thx for all the help) I did all your steps but instead of converting to en NBH file I used an NBA file for hex-editing... dunno why this made any difference but it's all fine now, I've got 93MB of program storage so I suppose everything went well...

Don't see thaaaat much of speed difference though, looks a bit faster indeed...

And to (^-^), sorry man, just follow the steps, it's quite easy to do... I could indeed post it but it's not my ROM, it's Explodes', I just change the pool size...

if this is a fake, why is it so stable and fast? well wifi is a normal issue when activating in wm5 and wm6, but it works!other than that i got no other quirms about it..its just you must know how your device works and how it will be responsive to your commands.

So its not really WM6 OS .5.2 with aku 1.0... apart from that, as a user of this rom, I have no issues apart from the known ones.. it is working better than Helmi's R0 - well if you think about it, this IS an enhanced version, so it SHOULD be better.

I am also using this "fake" rom, but I am a happy user hehe...

IMO, it's a "real" ROM (if it's not "real" how would it works? :D), but just a misleading naming - WM6 OS 5.2.2000 (Build 20000.1.0.0.PV.HAT)

As a normal BA user and without knowing anything about cooking work, I think we all should thank minhanhtran and PDAViet for creating a perfect ROM for us. It's a hard job for them and we don't have to pay for it. We should better thank than blame them.

Why can't we all play nice. Everyone here is just trying to get the most out of their BA. And the least we can do is be appreciative to ALL individuals who help us to do this.

We need to see past the individual and focus on the community. If the rom works, great, be thankful. If you modified someones work it is always nice to say something about it but lets face it not everyone will do that.

So I say lets be greatful for everyones contribution, dont get angry but learn from everyones work to help us keep our BA the awesome tool that it is.

First off, thank you for a good build. Unfortunately, it looks like it has the MS Stack and the Broadcom 1.7 will not install.

The current MS Stack is showing the following problems:

When the device is off, the bluetooth turns the device on automatically
cannot get BT to work wireless without dropouts
Need to re-pair the devices, possible memory leak.


If anyone knows the fix, please reply.

You cant charge a dead battery with USB. USB can help providing trickle charge to bring up the battery level to full but never use USB to charge a dead battery else something else might go dead. Best way is to charge Battery in the charger and wait for it to come to right level.

Yes, it does work. you have to install arcsoftmms first and mms_enable second (I think..youd better double check on wiki). And then make sure your settings for mms is correct.

What you gotta do is copy and paste the folder extrom to your ppc(storage card) and use total commander to view the extrom folder and then you will see the cabs.

Oh and btw, the new rom is excellent!

Let me reply for minhanh_tran as I've just installed the same.
1. No, you need to install NETCF from the ExtROM folder after uprom
2. All these programme will run well after you install the NETCF.

For some reasons, minhanh_tran left the cabs HIDDEN. So you only need to set your system View hidden files and you can see them.

Well i registered for the site and the key things you look for to help you navigate:
If you scroll all the way down and look to the left you will see a language menu and all you do is switch to english. Although it really doesnt help much but at least a few of the menus are readable.

For all the applications and rom releases you look to the top of the page and you find the link that says "DIEN DAN" -- it is the section to the left of the yellow "COMMING SOON"
Once you are in the DIEN DAN section scroll to the 3rd forum and find the
PPC - KỸ THUẬT ROM and under that section click on the ROM cho HTC BLUE ANGEL.

Got it. The files were hidden when copied. I just unchecked hidden.

these are my observation and problem with this ROm.
1. ringtone's volume is low compared to 2003.
2. can't turn on wi-fi
3. display turns on when password activates
4. display does not turn on automatically when new sms is received.

Im using for few days now stable and fast so far no problem no reset done yet, it works great but still have the wifi issue. touchflo works and its not so slow. Im using 8mb PP.

Fisrt of all I want to thank you vietnamise guys for such a wonderfull ROM - fast and stable.

I`m using WM6 5.2.1938 (Build 18538.0.7.0.PV.HAT)Touch & Office 6.1 NetCF 3.5 with RADIO ROM 1.15.00.

I tried to install latest Broadcom\Widcomm bluetooth stack (according to wiki) but everytime when I want to go:

Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth -> About -> Advanced - it dosen`t work.

CommManager -> Settings -> Bluetooth I always got standart MS stack settings.

Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth -> General -> Bluetooth Manager shows mesage

"The bluetooth radio failed to turn on due to unsifficient driver memory available. You must perform a normal reset before you can turn on the bluetooth radio"

After performing this reset the same thing.

I don`t know - maybe I`m doing something wrong or I`m using not proper cabs or something else.

And finally my questions:
Which bluetooth stack works best with this ROM?
Have anybody of you make widcomm stack working?
Which bt stack have you in your devices?

1. use xda3nbftool to convert nk.nbf to nk.nba
2. then use hex editor to change the 16MB value which is 01 to 02 (32MB) and save it
3. use xda3nbftool again to convert back to nk.nbf
4. Flash it like usual :)

This rom is wonderfully done and fast too. However my ringtones and sms tones especially dont work. it keeps going back to the default alarm 3. I tried using Photo contacts pro and it does the same thing. what to do pleasssse

This happens to me too...I've tried Hermi's and Minhahntran's WM6 but the same thing happened....
I've done many soft and hard resets already and it sucks!

I was very happy with the Helmi version for about 3 months and then it started behaving strangely. Every time I want to connect with hands-free in car I have to do a soft reset to get Bluetooth stack to work. And now I keep finding my screen off timeout reset to 10 seconds. System is becoming more unstable every week. I've tried hard reset and yesterday did a reinstall, but not much better. So I need to find out how to get this version onto my device.
Can anyone give me good instructions?

still got a few bugs though
like wifi works (when it wants to if u mess with it a bit)
and i installed xplodes cabs
but with all that its stable, noticabley quicker, and i think the best rom at the moment
when all bugs get sorted out it will be perfect
