HTC theme for SPB fullscreen keyboard (Update VGA + QVGA Support)

I finally decided to try out the SPB fullscreen keyboard and I pretty much liked the ability to have full screen in portrait and landscape mode plus the sound that gives you the feel of real hardware keyboard, I Know there is alot of fans of HTC style out there and I decided to make a skin for it to replace that ugly keyboard skin they have.

after you unzip the HTCSPB keyboard folder, dont unzip the folders inside, just drag them right in Program Files\Fullscreenkeyboard\skins, unload the spb keyboard and load it again.

One little addition though, you haven't labelled which key is for underscore, any chance you could add that??

you are right, _ is missing, it should be in top of letter P. I will fix it and post.

Thank you guys for all comments, I use Sipchange, is posted somewhere in this forum, its great little software that allows you to change any third party sip to default.

I too would love to try this on my phone but I require VGA. How does one go about changing it from QVGA to VGA? I can try to do it myself if you do not have the time.

I am also getting the same error message as lmf_slacker on my Touch. After unzipping the HTCSPB keyboard folder, I draopped the 2 .zip files into Program Files\Fullscreenkeyboard\skins. Then I do a soft reset. (I haven't 'exited' the application because it wasn't running to begin with)

When the device boots up, I press the external key I hae the keyboard mapped to, and I get the following message:

Skin Loading Error. Please reinstall or choose other skin

I did make sure to erase everything that was in the skins folder before I dropped the new .zip files in there.

Is there something I am doing differently than the rest of you :confused:

I know this is just a skin, but I seem to be making less mistakes on this keyboard. Have there been any improvements to the predictive feature?

Could it be that this skin does away with the tiny gaps between each key, therefore making the keys a bit bigger than the stock skin? Anyone else notice imrovements in your type time and accuracy?

I am having the same problem. Love this keyboard, it sucks i cant get it with this killer modified skin. If somebody would please step it in here in its simpliest form I would be greatful... Were obliviously doing something wrong. :confused:

Odd that others are having issues. I did it right off the bat and it worked fine. Here are the steps I took:

1) Install SPB FullScreen Keyboard
2) Download the HTC SPB keyboard Fixed.zip file.
3) On your computer, unzip HTC SPB keyboard Fixed.zip to your desktop
a.You should see a folder on your desktop titled "HTC SPB keyboard Fixed"
b. There should be a subfolder of "HTC SPB keyboard" within that folder
c. The contents of "HTC SPB keyboard" will have two files:
1: StandardQVGA.zip
2: StandardQVGAPortrait.zip

4) From your PC, browse to your mobile device and look for the following directory: \Program Files\FullScreenKeyboard\skins
a. You'll see two .Zip files of the same name as the ones you just unzipped onto your desktop. You will replace these files with the two new ones.
5) Copy and replace the two zip files (StandardQVGA.zip, StandardQVGAPortrait.zip) onto your mobile device into the directory in step 4.
6) Done.

You should be able to set any SIP as your default using an app called SIP Change. Please look in Dutty's cab repository in my signature. Cheers!

I put the zip folders in the skins folder of fullscreen, then I extracted them. How do I unload and re load?

To the people having errors.

There are two versions to these skins. QVGA and VGA

I received an error when I installed the VGA version of this skin because the program is original designed to map QVGA on mine (check the two txt files in the skins folder)

All I did was dowload the ones that had the QVGA
zips on them. I extracted the main folder and within that folder I got two other zip folders QVGA.

From here I whent to the skins folder of the application and deleted the orginal zip files and replaced it with the twoQVGA zips that I extraced.

I soft reseted my phone and now it works.:D

GREAT skin! It gives me a whole new appreciation for my phone. If I can make ONE request. Can you add a ".com" button? Probably it can be a function button over the letter "Q" or something. I think that would be very helpful when I'm using the keyboard when browsing the internet. What do you think?

FingertouchPRO can do Fullscreen as well, so that's what I'm using.

SPB's product doesn't have too many features.

I really need T9, Gestures at least, and FTPRO offers much more.

Great skin but Standard VGA does not load (get the skin error) on the Touch Diamond (portrait VGA loads and works great).

To Unload - Simply select another keyboard then re-select Full Screen Keyboard when you've made the changes.

I too was getting a Skin error when trying to use the VGA Zip's on my Diamond. After trying both VGA and QVGA (soft resetting etc) with no joy, I simply renamed the two files by removing the Q from the the QVGA file and it worked.

The Keyboard fits the screen OK, but the resolution looks a little 'jaded' i.e not Pin sharp. Still looks and works OK though. So I'll try this until the VGA issue is sorted.

The skin is totally fuzzy. I've follow the instruction on page 4: replace the zip files on device with the 2 zip files inside the HTC SPB Keyboard folder downloaded from this thread but the skin remain fuzzy:(

Beware the fullscreen keyboard 4.11 on the Touch Pro 2 will cause a hard lock forcing you to hard reset your device.

I havent tried 3 on the device, I may do that later. Love the skin, WVGA anyone?
