Hi Ivan,

Thanks for the great work.
I've an issue, in the task manager, the programs icons is not complete (only the top left of each icos is there) and I wanted to add a program or two to the exclusive programs, but the pop up menu which normally appears when I click the program name in the task manager, didn't appear to me. :(

Never say that, guy! Every cooker (at least in this forum) always have a tester team for his rom, all of their roms have tested carefully before release! Not like Mr PhamQuang in PDAVIET, never test his rom, release rom by minute! Damn!

I don't have a testing crew.

But i build a rom, flash it to my device and have it it at least 1 day running (sometimes longer) before i release it. Whilst testing it i cannot find all bugs, but if the rom boots and general functions work (telephone, mms , camera , bt , wifi, and all things i use before a release) i don't think i use the people out there as alpha testers. Although they are something like "beta-to-final" testers.

If there are some people who want to do some "beta before release testing" i would be glad for a pm.

@nikolis2000

sddeamon clearvue pdf and midlet managaer cant load

mm there is no voice commander oder voice speed dial in the rom, maybe the cab file is incomplete or it depends on files that could be in the rom to support it.

clearvue is also not in the rom see above

and the midlet manager starts at least.

If you tell me which files (voice commander/voice speed dial/clearvue pdf/java applet) you use and where i can download them, i will test them and hopefully find the problem.

Hi Lt.Cmdr.Ivan,

Congratulations for coming out fast with the second available ROM designed for the upgraded 128Mb RAM Universals. Of course mamaichs initial patched ROM as the first one available!

This v2 looks to be a promising ROM with the combined ROM resources from mamaich & Jwrightmcps. One thing I miss though is the Flash Disk, I've tried mamaich's patched ROM with 16Mb Flash Disk on this still standard 64Mb RAM device & it sure is stable except for the speed compromise in the absence of memory page pool.

Do you have any reason for not including the Flash Disk as it is in mamaich's ROM? I'm eagerly looking forward to a ROM version with Flash Disk on any of the future stable ROMs from either you or JW!

For now, I'm going to enjoy this V2.

May the force be always with you guys for spending your time & talents in sharing your ROM work of arts to us!

King of Rapture™
16th November 2007, 08:04 AM
Dear Lt.Cmdr.Ivan,

I fully second RHMartin request regarding the Flash Disk. I also tried mamaich stable ROM for 128MB, which has 16MB Flash.

The N. N. Coung beta ROM, which is very fast and stable has 22MB Flash Disk.

Since I have two Universals, it would be nice to have different ROMs on them. So I am also, "... eagerly looking forward to a ROM version with Flash Disk on any of the future stable ROMs from either you or JW!"

This extra space in the form of Flash Disk is very important for me as I have to install the Arabizer, which is about 10MB.

Once again thank you for such a nice stable and fast ROM. As from my signature you can tell that I am using your ROM on my Xda Exec and N. N. Coung's ROM on my Jasjar.

Though, to report a small bug:

1. The backlight doesn't work at all even in dark.

2. When the backlight button on the front is pushed it gives the message, "Error opening the shortcut....".

Best Regards,

KOR! :)

Silly question, more of a niggle than a bug.

I've switched to the HTC_default theme, and everything's gone that cool black colour, except the bottom bar, which is still pale blue.

Is there a master version of this I can get from somewhere?

Ok so to sum up these are the problems to fix / things that need to be changed.

MMS needs a change.

Flash Disk eventually.

HTC Default theme problem. I don't exctly have this problem because i let my extended autorun apply this theme with the help of the custsk.exe, and as a result i do not have a problem with this theme.

camera buffer issue needs to be checked

new email account problem eventual fixed with different mms prog.

I hope this are all problems.

It isn't the final version because the taskmanager is not the best solution and needs a replacement.

These are the recommended ones:

Maybe you also have an idea.

Never say that, guy! Every cooker (at least in this forum) always have a tester team for his rom, all of their roms have tested carefully before release! Not like Mr PhamQuang in PDAVIET, never test his rom, release rom by minute! Damn!

PDAVIET is PhamQuang's tester team :D. All ROM are cooked ROM, no owner. ;)

Ok v3 is released and already uploaded.

It isn't the final version because the taskmanager is not the best solution and needs a replacement.

These are the recommended ones:
WK Task
HTC X-Button 1.5
HTC Taskmanager 2.0.995 (doesn't function perfectly yet, finetuning needed)

Maybe you also have an idea.

maybe u can try nncuong's pbar. many good feedback from others.

How come the battery drains after 50% in one hour? I have checked it with two batteries and the same thing happened. When you setup the Bluetooth with your computer and you need to tap finish at the end of the process and you press finish nothing happens. You can not close it unless you soft reset.

Lt. Cmdr Ivan,

This is a great ROM... it works really nice - BT working well, syncing allright (I had sync problems with Leo's and beasty's ROM),
Memory management is fine...

So far using for 2 days and pleased... I think it would be nice to include more programs in it (voice dialer..) The meathod of putting installs on flash disk is good.

I'm using Pbar for task management and it's doing fine.

Have been running V2 for a week or so, and decided to upgrade to V3.
Sadly, it just sits at the splash screen.

Tried mtty, "set 14,0" and "task 28 55aa", as per http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Uni_Stuck_Bootloader.

Still no joy.
And now I have NO splash screen - just a black screen with the RGD versions displayed.

I am running Bootloader 2.01 (which I believe means G4)?

Any ideas?

I've had a quick sniff around and from what I can gather on other threads, the G4 does not support the Flash Disk functionality.
If this is correct, can you release a version without it?

Hi,

Yes there is, HTC are calling it the Omni...................

No, you have to remove the existing two 32 mb chips and solder two 64mb chips for the 128mb ram.

Dear Lt.Cmdr.Ivan,

I have tested your beautiful ROM for the last three days now and I can confirm that it is fast, stable, with lots of storage space and beautiful. Now my signature reflects this! :)

Let me again thank you for being "The Man Of Your Words". You have kept your promise to include Flash Disk!

You have also come up with a right mix of softwares included in your ROM. I would suggest to keep it like that for future releases and don't add anymore programs to it.

The real storage after flashing is 74MB. However, taking into account the softwares included it leaves with a space of 15MB in the Flash Disk and thus total space left is 66MB.

Here are my suggestions and observations for the next release v4.0:

1. You have come up with the right mix of programs included. Keep it like that and don't include anymore.

2. As you have mentioned that the HTC TaskManager is buggy. Leave it out for future releases. Don't include any TaskManagers as there are many freeware versions available on the net.

3. Please don't include either MS Voice Command, Cyberon Voice Commander or Cyberon Voice Dial. They are good programs and let the users decide for themselves.

4a. You have included HTC AudioManager. I love this program and as standalone it is 10MB for the Universal. The one you have included, I can't get it to work. Can you please check on this for me?

4b. It would be nice if the HTC AudioManager is fixed before your next release of V4.0

Please keep up the good work!:

Good to know that the device works on 128 MB devices.

So i think v4 will be 2 version rom version
a g3 version with Flashdisk
b g4 version without FlashDisk (i need someone to test before release)

Regarding the htc taskman. I will add it in future versions, but i will provide a cab file that enables it, so it will be disabled by default, and you can enable it if you want.

The HTC AudioManager will be checked and i will see what i will do with it, maybe as cab file... I wiil see.

Dear Ivan,

I upgrade roms alot, and personally I like having applications in the rom - that way I don't need to go through the cabs to install seperately.

The Ideal I think is having all kinds of CABs on the flash disk, and some kind of utility that starts after ROM install so I can select what cabs to install.

I personally do like to have task manager, audio manager and so on installed in the ROM...

Hi Ivan,

I've flashed your ROM two days ago. It is simply GREAT! Thanks a lot! Its free RAM after a clean SR seems to be ~3MB below nncuong's last ROM, though, but I have not noticed any practical effects about it, though.

I've just solved one of the problems I have reported on xdabugs.vidmes.com: the new email account creation problem, by following Aniel1's advice found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1307495&postcount=17). Thousand thanks for him, too.

The only small issue I'm facing now (also reported at xdabugs.vidmes.com) is that whenever I'm lstening to a playlist through A2DP, there is a 1-2sec pause at the very beginning of each and every track. If I go back to the beginning of the track being played, that brief pause is not repeated. It seems to happen only when WMP goes from one track to the next one.

By the way, unlike other posts found here, HTC Audio Manager does work for me. I don't use it very often, though, simply because it sorts songs it finds in any albums always in aphabetical order. I kinda dislike such behaviour. It is very good for audio editing, though. :)

EDIT: your camera application build is still 21424. This version is unable to save pictures and videos to storage cards with more than 2GB of free space. In case anyone here is interested, I'm attaching build 22844 here, which works fine with my 8GB SDHC card. Just upack it and save file camera.exe it to /Windows.

EDIT2: I think it has already been reported that WPA-TKIP requires that old known connect-disconnect-reconnect trick. There is a fix by mamiware around. Please, take a look at it for your soon to be released V4 ROM.

Thanks, again. Waiting for your next release...:D

What's your card capacity? I had face this problem in other ROMs before. Build 21424 is known to be unable to save data to any card showing more than 2GB of free space.

And if you are able to connect to WiFi, through WPA-TKIP, at the first shot, you are lucky, because I can't. I have to deactivate WiFi and activate it again to get it connected to my router. Perhaps it's a protocol negotiation subject between specific routers and some ROMs. My router is Linksys WRT54GC. It's a widely known bug!

Exactly, that's what I mean!

None of the camera application builds released so far should show any problems is saving to a SD/MMC card up to 2GB capacity. The problems with the former builds (prior to 22844) appear only with higher capacity cards. For example, if you bought a 4GB card, you would have to fill it up with more than 2GB of stuff (anything, like pics, MP3s, videos, etc.). Only then the camera app would be able to save to it. I.e. it needed to detect less than 2GB of free space there. Otherwise, you would be issued an error message instead.

Build 22844 has simply broken that limitation!

Cheers!

I don't think we're discussing the same subject here. I apologize if my english seems to kinda crappy to you. Yes, you could, indeed, install SDHC cab files out there (You don't need to do it in this ROM, though, since such functionality is already installed). But, you wouldn't be able to save pictures/videos you take with your Uni to an e.g. 8GB SDHC card if you kept the 21424 version found in this ROM. Simply as that!

Todos for v4

-Camera (man i really thought i took the right camera this time) will be checked
-Mamiware WPA-TKIP fix (can someone find a version, test it and report it, i will try to find it but 4 eyes see more than 2)

This ROM is only for G3 devices and such has Flash Disk. Any ROM which works on both G3 and G4 devices doesn't have Flash Disk, but ROM cooked with Flash Disk only works on G3 devices.

Nothing to do with luck. If you device is G4 only than try this extremely fast ROM for it.

Or wait for the next release of this ROM in 2 separate versions. The G3 version with Flash Disk will work on G3 devices only, and the other version will work on both G3 and G4 devices.

By the way BeastyLeo ROM doesn't have Flash Disk, and maybe you are confusing this with something else. Flash Disk only works on G3 devices so far!

I think you just like to argue with people and as much as I would love to do it with you, I can’t. It will be bad for your low self esteem. I am agreeing that it is extended ROM which showed as storage. I didn’t read the part where they mention they can’t hide it.

Read the first page of this thread and I quote:

"Flash Disk with ~15MB space and some prepacked stuff that can be deleted when accessing the Flash Disk the first time"

Now this sounds 10MB to you?

Dear faraz.riaz,

This ROM of master Lt.Cmdr.Ivan has 10MB of storage (extrom) and plus 15MB of flash disk. Here is an another extremely fast rom by master N. N. Coung, for G3 devices only, which has 10MB of storage (extrom) and plus 23MB of flash disk:

Just to be clear I am extremely lucky and I have been accused of being a decent guy and having a nice sense of humor among other things. I will stick with the ROM I have and beside I really like “beasty & Leo” work. See I am loyal too.:D

Could anyone please please tell me whether the new rom is going to work (or not) with the G4 with 128MB RAM???

I have been asking the same question about the 128MB RAM in the forums for other ROMs compatible with the G4, but so far no one has replied. Has no one really tried upgrading the G4? The earliest I could try has to be next week. But then I got only 1 pda phone, and no choice if the device stops working. :(

Any evidence that the G4 128MB is working well with any other ROM is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance for your attention.

Hello...
Just want to say this is my first wm6 upgrade. And i can say that this ROM rocks. i ♥ the splash screen, installed without hussle and it's quite fast too.

I have two questions though:
1. where can i find the cab file to activate keyboard backlit?
2. and how come camera's not working?

Thank you again for everything...

Dear Lt.Cmdr.Ivan,

I have one more request for the v4!

It would be nice to leave out the performance tool. Or if you really want to include it than I suggest to have it disable by default.

Presently, when one flash the ROM the performance tool is enabled by default. This tools gives different results on different Universals. One some it increases the battery life/time, on others it drains the battery in no time.

The BeastyLeo ROM had this and they faced similar problem where people complaining the fast battery drain. They removed this tool from their current ROM.

Dear singer12,

Please check this thread to ensure that your device is G3 or G4:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=348882

If your device is G3 than this is one of the excellent ROM for G3 devices only!

If your device is G4 than any ROM combined for G3 and G4 will work. Here are couple of the excellent ROMs for G4 devices:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=342944

And,

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=348596

I don't think I would agree at all. If one is good enough to flash your Universal with a cooked up ROM, one should be capable of clicking Start--> Settings --> Performance and untick the empty boxes, setting the CPU to the regular 520 Mhz setting.

In any case, it makes the ROM noticably more responsive.

Dear AlphaAndOmega,

It seems that you didn't read my post entirely or read it very quickly and missed the gist of it .

If you read my signature, you will realize that I have two Unis and am using two of the finest ROMs.

I did disable the performance tool but the battery drainage continued. Than after a while, I removed the registry entries too, but still the battery drainage continued.

I will suggest you to read my earlier post carefully and also to read other threads to get more information on the performance tool.

If you save the performance tool from the windows directory than in future you can use this tool with any ROM your heart desire. Or if you prefer, I can upload this tool for you.

Dear Lt.Cmdr.Ivan,

I finally got the AudioManager to work late at late night.

When the AudioManager first starts, it scans for audio files. In my case it didn't find any, so I couldn't get it to work!

All my audio files are located under \Storage Card\Music, but each full album has it's own sub-directory.

I have been playing with the registry, as had made some changes to it, but without success:

devive_scan_path = \Storage Card\Music
devive_scan_path = \Storage Card\Music

These two were originally set to \My Documents.

Still it didn't work, so what did the trick last night!

device_scan_path=1

It was disabled and was set to 0, by enabling it and changing to 1, it did the trick.

Thanks for such a beautiful ROM. AudioManger now Rocks! :)

Exactly like mine! All my albums are stored in subdirectories too. Yet, as I've stated before, HTC Audio Manager is able to find them flawlessly.

I recall posting somewhere, sometime ago, that I don't use it quite often, because it always sorts the songs it finds alphabetically, instead of in the order stored in the album. Besides, it seems to consume much memory, comparing to WMP, while playing music... It is very nice, though, for editing of, e.g. a part of a song, and saving it as a ringing tone. :)

Cheers!

Dear Carlos,

Thanks for the input. I will reflash the ROM tonight. Check the AudioManager and see how it responds.

Than I will add my software and try to find the culprit. I am suspicious that Pocket Music might be conflicting, as it registers the mp3 extensions under it's name!

Well, I guess I'm the lucky guy this time, then! :D You see, I think Audio Manager was the last application I ran after HR, because I automatically ran my extended ROM contents (as always) with lots of stuff, like CVSD, UTA, GoogleMaps, PQz, PZP, etc. Then, I fully configured my Exec and installed more applications.

My device_scan_path_path key has always pointed to \Documents, and, yet, it finds and plays all my albums stored at \Storage Card\Music\<subdirs>. Yeah, go figure!

Dear Carlos,

Yes, ExtROM is excellent! But, you forgot the Flash Disk! :D

Like you I run lots of programs too. In past, once I filled my ExtROM , I used to install my extra programs in the SD.

Now, we have Flash Disk. The less the unnecessary programs in the main ROM Storage, the bigger the Flash Disk! :)

Flash Disk is god send for the G3 devices! :)

Sure, I haven't dismissed the flash disk at all. I see it as a must for our G3 machines (too bad the G4 owners aren't able to have it yet). Perhaps I haven't expressed myself correctly: I use the extROM to automatically install core cabs and copy other files from it to their appropriate locations, right after the hard reset, through that well known autorun.exe and config.txt setup, so that I don't have to install my most usual programs one by one every time I flash a ROM. I'm aware that cab files installed this way go right to the main storage, but the ones I've chosen to be installed that way are not that heavy! Besides, other applications I install after configuring my device go to the Flash Disk, anyway.

Cheers!

There is no Arabic ROM available for Universal. However, imate (Jasjar) gives free Arabic support to their customers. This is done by downloading their ROM for ARABIC region.

You have O2 XdaExec, therefore it won't work for your device.

You have two choices:

1. There is a cab file for Arabizer on this Forum. You have to search for it.

2. Use the Imaginet Arabizer software. You can Google for this.

If you need any further help, you can PM me, though make sure that your Forum settings allows to PM back to you.

Hope this is helpful!

As far as ROM is concerned, this is the best ROM for your device.

First 24h using v3.9 seems to be fast and stable. Thanks, Ivan!

Before flashing it, though, I've tried v4.0, but it has showed way to buggy in my Exec. Lots of applications, including both WMP and HTC Audio Manager, refused to run. Other apps issued that low memory popup error message, when there was 24MB of free RAM at the moment.

IMHO, I don't think .NET Framework 3.5 is to blame for the problems found in v4.0, because I installed it in v3 (not in v3.9) and it performed fine, then.

Just my 2 cents...

Hi Hizad,

The latest release v3.9 doesn't have AudioManager configuration entries in the registry.

When I first flashed the v3.9 ROM, the AudioManger worked flawlessly. After few resets it quit working again. The problem with AudioManager is that when it starts it looks for audio files, if it doesn't find them than it doesn't work.

However, when I imported the registry entries saved from the release v3, it worked flawlessly again.

Attached are the registry entries in the zip file. Unzip and import it to the registry.

@Carlos, how can I save all my music audio files in the playlist in one go, rather than one audio file at a time?

Hi KOR

Not sure of what you're asking me. I always have the media synchronization option in ActiveSync ticked, start Windows Media Player in my lappy, choose the albums/songs/pictures/videos to be synchronized with my device, and then just sync it. My memory card is automatically recognized inside my Exec (most of the times:) ) and the media files are transfered to it.

Do you, by the way, do it differently?

Dear teixeirabmb,

The AudioManager posted in your thread is about 10MB. The QVGA version is less than 1MB.

I wonder about the size of AudioManger included in the Ivan's ROM?

Hi again

As all of you have seen the links for the g4 version were wrong, and are now corrected, sorry for that.

ok i think all of the problems mentioned in the released are this ones (at least up to now) :

4.0
-seems to have problems receiving calls
-has problems when settings are used and applied
-is buggy mostly because of the netcf 3.5 and sqlce 3.5 i used (maybe not the newest version ? )

3.9
-sems to be doing fine except for the clipboard problem
well i cant seem to copy & past a text in that rom - looks like the text is not being acually copied on the clipboard cause when i wanna past it i can never find the past option (anyone can confirm this ?)

Merry Christmas to all of you.

Hi, i like yours Rom. But i have big problem that i have not had before. My 2Gt SD memory card disappears many times at one day and i must take it out and insert it back and then it works. Its very disturbing because when i need navigator software it doesnt find maps. My unit is O2 Xda Exec and i havent had this problem with others WM6 Roms. I upgraded yesterday V3.9 G3 rom and same error continues.

Is there a fix that i could try?

I fully second that. v3.9 is really great! On the other hand, v4.0 showed up to be way to buggy on my Exec. I've flashed v3.9 since its release date. I've had to fix only minor bugs there, all of them common to other WM6 builds, such as WiFi WPA-TKIP and BT-FTP.

You are using TrueVGA? I believe the freezing problem is somehow related by using TrueVGA.

Regarding the SD Issues some people reported, hopefully in this thread is a solution. ( Download one of the sdhc driver cabs and see if it works)

Hi Lt.Cmdr.Ivan,

What a sad day for the Universal! :(

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And, maybe, they’d be happy for a while.

But february made me shiver
With every paper I’d deliver.
Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn’t take one more step.

I can’t remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride,
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died.

Reviews
Positive :
+ Fast boot and very short Ready2Use process.
+ Fast GSM ( UMTS not tested )
+ Very fast at 520 mhz mode ( 624 almost same some speeder )
+ SDHC read/write not amazing but it's okay.
+ Other specifications nearly Beasty's 2.08.01 rom.
+ GPS plugin
+ Windows Media Player I don't know however but faster than others ( video ).
+ Flash Drive ( Not really necessary but it's good to be there )
+ Battery usage seems good. ( Tested: without wifi and gsm mode )

Negative : ( I'm sorry but there is so much problems I'v seen )
- Wifi doesn't connect mine ADSL wifi modem ( speedtouch 780wl )
I've not any problem with Beasty's rom about connecting.
Commanager is same as other roms at RealVGA mode.
- Camera takes really bad photos night mode or flash opened ( always heavy red color, adjustment makes silly. )!
- Audiomanager freezes up!
- Very very Vanilla Rom ( Why there is no WinRar, adobe, Flash?!? )
- Programs runs some slower than others.
- Camera sometimes freezes too!
- Very crowded today screen ( messages, contacts and calendar not necessary)
- Wifi Balloon useless too. ( sometimes )

At the end:
Useless for me, ( wifi, cam )
Thanks for your hard work Ivan.
Regards.

I never had any problem with the cam (except it won't run with low mem).
The wifi wpa bug can be corrected with the WiFiWAv11.cab.

Would you please tell me how did you fix the WiFi problem?

In fact, I haven't fixed the code itself. Besides, I have noticed that WiFiWA1.1.cab seems to kill the big G icon (for GPRS availability) on the title bar.

I simply perform that widely known trick of activating-deactivating-reactivating WiFi (either through CommManager or pBar, with some 5 to 10s delay between each action), in order to connect to my WPA-TKIP encrypted router. Sometimes, I must do it twice to get it working. No big deal for me, though. :)

As you can see, WPA-TKIP does work, after some sweating. However, you might be aware that WEP encryption, on the other hand, works flawlessly (i.e. in the first shot) with this ROM. Although it is an old encryption method, it's still better than no encryption at all. Perhaps you might consider giving it a try...

Cheers!

Has anyone encountered this problem with current Ivan's v3.9 rom for the G4? Everytime my device wake up from sleep/standby, there will be slight misalign on the touch screen, and can be solved by realigning the screen in Settings. However, waking up from standby or sleep, the misalign comes back.

Furthermore, I notice that after waking up from sleep/standby, the touch screen becomes unresponsive. This have to be overcome by tabbing the screen using more force, or using a finger pushing, with a bit of force, at the screen (usually at the top-left windows button) to make the screen work; i.e., tabbable.

This is otherwise a perfect rom I find. I have had no other problem using this rom apart from this touch screen bug.

May it be because this rom is orginally designed for the qVGA device? Perhaps this thread might give you guys some useful information http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1329097&highlight=align#post1329097

Ivan's ROM is working very well on my Jasjar with 128 G4. No overheads like ms voice command and others that can be installed later. All necessary features are there. However, when I hard reset to factory default I get cusTSK.exe not found. I got this file by ROM upgrade with B&L, copied on storage card and ran with autorun.

Ivan, can you please, please, include this file in ROM? Ofcourse without ms voice command etc. This will give no error while hard resetting. This at least psychological satisfaction of error free ROM upgrade. Helps while reselling.

Ivan,

Many thanks for all your hard work on putting together this ROM. I managed to load it (UNI_WM6_AKU_0_7_128MB_G3_IVAN_v3.9) on my universal and I get 4 errors.

1) when rebooting it says it could not run sddaemon, but the SD card works (I do not know if it is related?)

Following standard apps do not run:
2) clearvue
3) voicespeeddial
4)Midlet Manager

Also noticed that the "light" button was working on Ranju's ROM but not on the original WM5 ROM nor this one.

Hope you or other members can help on any of these issues.

Thank you to all for this community.
Cheers

That's great Hakim - downloading now - but it is the 128MB version. Will it work on my 64MB? I'll give it a go and see what happens.

Edited to say ROM downloaded and installed on mu G3 Uni - seems to work fine - but I was only after checking out the wifi. I still can't get my wifi to start up so am still no further forward - back to VNInt ROM for this device until I can try anything else.

This thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19290843#post19290843 is where I'm having my wifi issues - plus what else I've tried.
