SDHC card patch (Freeware)
Requirements: Windows Mobile 6 PocketPC (not yet tested with other WindowsMobile version)
Overview: Patch for PPC running WM6 for reading 2,4,8 GB SDC cards. This patch allows you to use 2,4,8 GB SDHC cards in your WM6 PPC.

What is SDHC?
SD High Capacity (SDHC) card is the new SD™ memory card based on the SDA
2.00 specification, introduced by the SD Card Association. This new SDA 2.00
specification enables SD cards to reach higher capacities - 4GB-32GB*.
Because SDHC works differently then standard SD cards, this new format is not
backwards compatible with legacy SD format host devices.
More SDHC compatible devices are expected to be available in the second half of 2006.
To ensure compatibility, look for the SDHC logo on cards and host devices (cameras,
camcorders, etc.)
Compatibility with SDHC 4GB:
4GB SDHC cards can only work with SDHC compatible host
devices. To ensure compatibility, look for the SDHC logo on
the packaging. Please check with your device manufacturer
for their current/future supported SDHC devices.

Tested on Loox n520 and working

first you must copy paste the two dlls, then install the certs.cab, then the sdhc.cab.
Have you done this?

Have you try it?

I tried 2 months ago but no luck on BA

Would try it if I can (if I have a SHDC card), here's the readme.txt:
SDHC Driver

1) Install SDHC.cab
2) Overwrite /Windows sdbus.dll sdmemory.dll
3) Install Certs.cab

Soft reset.

isn't working on BA; i try to find a sdbus.dll in our Windows to compare with the new one, but all we have is SDBusDriver.dll

Another person googled sth on the internet and posting without checking? How many times we will have threads like this one?
really, you can check it on your own: all you get at the end is loosing access to the card (SDHC and nonHC).
So please, give us all a break - I've seen this at least 10 times on different BA forums.

Mate,

I've just found the sdbus.dll (as well as sdmemory.dll), in my O2 XDA Orbit with a factory-installed WM6. All I did was to use Resco Explorer 2007 to search for it in My Device\Windows and they are there.

That said, this is as far as I can take it 'cos they say it's not Artemis-specific. I agree, it's best to wait for the gurus to come up with a CAB. That way, we'd know for sure that it would work.

So if you talking about artemis, what the hell it has to do with BlueAngel???

Hey,

WM6 is WM6, right?

The patch is for ANY device running Windows Mobile 6. I mean any - read the posting on this. We are not talking about iPhone vs Blue Angel which run on totally different operating systems.

Other than operator specific settings, I didn't think that the sdbus.dll and sdmemory.dll in the devices running WM6 (in this case), would be different from one another, or would they?

If they were, why is it that other devices running WM6, such as Eten, Loox, Artemis, etc have had their owners report that they had successfully installed the SDHC patch and that they are now able to use microSDHC cards?

So there, that's what it's got to do with Blue Angel. Different devices but they both run WM6 in this instance.

The problem is that BlueAngel is a totally different device, that was never planned to work with WM5/6 and what we have here (WM5/6 ROMs) are effect of very hard work of developers such as Helmi, Xplode and Baniaczek (and others), to use half working leaked version of WM5 rom on BA to provide us with usable WM5 and WM6. Still most drivers are specific to BA, because of very... specific contruction of the device and most drivers not wrtitten especially for BA won't work - we know this already. For WM6 we have the old WM5 driver that had been bolted on (using hammer) in WM6, to provide us with SD support. You cannot just exchange it like this.
Knowing this and reading every 2 weeks information "I have it! I have IT! please check this out, and abracadabra SDHC will work finally" that is posted here and there without even testing... it just like some noobs asking all over again about "my device is turning on every 5 minutes when i have Bluetooth turned on".
So I just I ask, no... I BEG you - please test it on your own before posting again some news wbout SDHC support for BA. If don't have SDHC card, "update" your driver and try to read normal SD.
I know this is doable, but it cannot be just some files copied from different device - somebody will have to still the source code from HTC or disassemble the driver and modify it. Really - it's not so easy.
PS: your font has some problems - did you enlarge it on purpose?

On some of the new universal wm6 roms incorporating the sdhc card drivers, I noticed that if you set the driver to sdhc/sd, your normal sd will not be seen until you set it to sd and reboot. Maybe that is what is happening. That when we install the sdhc driver it overwrites the normal sd driver and the new driver cannot read the normal sd. May be we need to have a way of switching between the two drivers. Has anyone actuall tested an sdhc card after installing the sdhc driver?

Sorry for my English. I made some tests with sdhc drivers from universal but with no success. I also can't find valid driver for PXA 26x. I know that exist drivers for PXA 27x ,but this drivers simple not working on our BA.

Is there anything peculiar to the PXA 26x processor that makes it significantly different from the PXA 27x architecture?
