Dude! I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and guess that you are still working on that last sam adams...

Option one (easy): Go back one page, look down one post.
Option two (less easy): Look at the brown menu bar and find the search link. It's the one that says "Search". Type in "dcd kitchen".

I would suggest that you have a nap followed by a couple cups of nice strong coffee prior to making your first kitchen. :rolleyes:

Is there a way I could get this ROM I am unable to get from the 2 sites listed in the thread. My work is blocking them. I have tried other ways to retrieve the ROM but the internet is to slow where I am at to keep the connection going.

Also could someone explain to me the difference between a ROM and Kitchen. I have looked at XDA-Wiki that did not help me at all.

.netcf 2 is replaced with .netcf 3.5 and maybe its not handling 2.0 apps correctly. please pm me links to installs for those apps and ill test.

Never heard of that, maybe an isolated issue? Did you reflash my rom and does it still do it?

Yea i tried reflashing with your rom again and even the kitchen. The only way to get out of it was reflashing to an oem rom or the new oem 2.17. I think i read of someone else having this problem as well. If you search the forum, i'm sure you'll find out. That's how I knew to reflash to the oem.

maybe you changed your dns settings before and have not done the same now? nothing in my stuff should affect that - unless speeding it up

It seems that the audio is loud regardless of the volume settings. (I can actually use it like a speakerphone without going into speakerphone... so much for private conversations). Yes. The volume is configured by Audiopara.csv. This should be in a package under OEM called OEM_Driver_Audiopara_2_17. This file can be modified or replaced with another to adjust volume settings.

The included audiopara.csv in my kitchen is AudioPara.csv_coarse_ear_extended_speaker.txt

I will work on gathering some options for audiopara and make choices selectable in the future.

By the way, if you want to play around with audiopara changes, you can copy the file over to /windows using a good file explorer, and soft reset. No need to flash this.

the biggest difference in 1.6.8 is that it rebuilds properly when dumped. this matters for someone working with the rom dump on their pc, but doesnt matter for how the rom runs on your pda.

the only other change worth mentioning is i redid the dialer images.

that said, without testing, i believe that the sprite backup image would not overwrite the new dialer images, as they were stored in rom before and after. it would overwrite the new 1.6.8 registry with your 1.6.7 registry, but theres really no changes there. my guess is that you would be left with the new dialer image, but see 'dcd 1.6.7' as rom version in system information.

i also disabled the keyboard backlight autosensor, and unless you changed that yourself, it would be reenabled by your sprite backup image. but this is really really minor.

in short: it wouldnt matter.

I have had my mogul now with sprint for about a month. I decided I don't like the newest rom update I got from sprint, so I'm thinking it's time to upgrade. I have no idea what I need to do to install one of these custom roms. Could someone point me in the right direction? Is there some type of program I need to download to load this rom?

You need to first download and run the Titan Unlocker. I think that upgrades the bootloader and unlocks your Titan for upgrading.

Then you should pick a ROM. There aren't too many out there right now though. I've had my Titan for about a week now. I upgraded to DCD's 1.6.7 ROM. It's pretty clean, no frills, and the only thing I did was add my favorite HTC apps, and Mobile Office 6.1. It's been rock steady.... we'll see.

It isn't rocket science, but it isn't that easy either. You stand a chance of bricking your phone.

I'm confused here. I installed this custom rom with no issues at all. Everything is working great, except I have no internet now. I goes to connecting then locating, then hangs there... Eventually it will tell me I cannot connect to the internet. Now it worked great before this. So is there a setting I have to change to get my internet back?

Assuming you're trying to access the internet via your Data connection as opposed to Wifi, have you re-run the IOTA setup? If not, go to Start->Settings->Personal->Phone->Services, select Internet, and tap Get Settings. Tap Start to retrieve your connection settings.

This was always automatic for me with official roms, but I've had to do it manually w/ dcd roms. Not a big deal, just easy to miss if you don't know to look for it.

that was originally intentional, as i used to only put out a sprint build for all carriers to use. if you dont have sprint, that automatic iota is at best a pita, at worst stops you from using any net connection at all.

Don't put too much effort into it. I don't at all mind running it manually, especially if it keeps non-Sprint users from having to deal with it.

I just updated to 1.6.8 from 1.6.7, and after receiving a voicemail my voicemail icon will not disappear after I check and erase my voicemail.
I'm not sure if it's this ROM or not, but I called Sprint tech support and they tried forcing it off from their end and after a soft reset it is still there.

Has anyone else experienced this with 1.6.8?

This happened to me sometimes on my 6700. Have you tried going to Start->Settings->Personal->Phone->Services->Voicemail->Get Settings...->Clear?

and this happens without any additional software installed? hard reset your device and do nothing to it and see. ive never seen this happen, i think its some other application you installed.

hard reset won't do anything. Reverting back to an older radio or an older DCD firmware wouldnt do anything either. I had to go with the stock HTC firmware/ROM update 2.17 package...I thought it was really weird too.
The 2nd time I had this happen, I didn't have any new software installed other than your ROM. I'm not at ALL blaming you, just trying to possibly find a cause for this issue so others won't have the same problem. I greatly appreciate your work and continuous updates!

I have a question regarding the SIP and how to change it. I saw an earlier post where you have one working with 1.6.7

I've tried loading the pocket cm keyboard, and I can't seem to get the input settings to change to it OR anything else from the drop down list. So no pocketcm keyboard, no block recognizer, etc. Is there a registry key you know of where I can force this change?

Otherwise, got any suggestions? Much appreciated!

The radio is a different flash... although *some* ROMs contain both (The OEM ROM does, for example), DCD's clean rom does not include the radio. You should most likely stick with 1.40 anyway, though... in this case, newer does not equal better.

I am using my phone to do internet sharing. I am trying to use it to connect my computer to the the phone so I can surf the web. Is there a way that will prevent it from randomly disconnecting?

but when i run the unlocker exe it puts my phone in the 3 color screen and just stays there, the computer says "your device should now be showing an spl version of 1.10.olipro, if so, please remove the usb cable, and reinsert it. it shows that version on my phone so i unplug and plug it back in like a champ. i do this part like its nothing. i unplug it says serial, i plug back in and phone says usb at bottom. i click ok on the computer and it brings up the rom update utility 3.16.3.4 which does not work and my device is still in the red/green/blue screen.

any ideas?

update: i got it to work. must have misunderstood the instructions. it said try to re-active-sync it so i used the bootloader resetter and got back to the today screen where the rom update would fail. i do the rom update right in the red/blue/green screen.

being on vista i do not think helped. i had to update my device drivers in vista using the vistaRUU thingie, that wceusbsh.inf in that vistaRUU

also i thought something was wrong because it didnt read the current rom but ignoring that and just waiting a bit longer (20 seconds) and it the bar started to move. at 80% in about 2 min

WOW is this pretty freaking good, I am in love with this way better than stock rom. I dont know why I didnt do it sooner. I was reading and reading non stop for 2 weeks, I should have just plunged in. i didnt even need to do *228 or call verizon to let them know i did a hard reset. it was able to make and get calls and internet right away. if this rom was a person, i would ask it to marry me.

i just flashed a few of my friends phones today. all under 5 minutes.

step 1
download the titan unlocker (search for it) and run that while active sync to your phone and just keep hitting next next until your phone shows the 3 color screen, and then unplug and plug back in and just keep hitting next next until it is done and the program will crash at end after it does everything (win xp)
make sure the phone is still in that 3 color screen.

step 2
then donwload the dcd's 1.6.8 rom and run that exe and just keep hitting next, i understand, next, i agree, next next upgrade next next. while the phone is still left in the 3 color screen from step 1

thats it.

One great reg hack could be included I think this one is a must.

To change the ability to receive files via Bluetooth (OBEX)

* The setting is at 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Obex'
* The 'IsEnabled' DWORD value should be set to '1' to enable OBEX and '0' to disable OBEX.

For example, to enable the ability to receive fles via Bluetooth

* HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Obex\IsEnabl ed = 1


I tried this and cannot get opex file transfer to appear.. Is there anything else that has to be enabled?

hey i'm extremely new to this. I just got this phone a few weeks ago (a TITAN) and i'm trying to update the ROM. I dl'd the program. I follow the steps, and once I start the update, ActiveSync kills the connection and I am forced to do a recovery, so if you can, please help?

DCD, thanks a lot for the wonderful ROM releases.

I use your ROM version 1.6.7, and sometimes (I am not able to replicate this, I suspect it is just after charging), incoming calls neither ring nor vibrate the phone. The phone simply doesn't wake up. Later, when I switch on the phone, or when my phone alarm rings in the morning, I get a bunch of call missed and voice mail notifications. Since, I get the missed call notifications when I switch on the phone, there is signal coverage when this happens.

Also my mogul freezes up if I try to turn the IR on.

I searched the forums and read up several threads couldnt find a fix. Does anyone else have similar issues ?

Is it a well known issue with the Mogul or is there a hardware issue with my Mogul ?

the 2.17 rom and vogue perform about the same, most of the files are close or identical. the bt right now is as good as we can get it without drivers. i would hold off on buying a headset though, a new official rom is due soon.

I've been looking thru and can't seem to find the answer to my problem

I'm not using bluetooth. I'm not even using the phone. I see a call come in, I perss the Green button, I pres the Answer softkey...nothing happens.

This happened in 1.6.9 as well. I read that this was a problem in some earlier releases as well.

Is anyone else having this problem?

no, this has never been a problem in any releases, it has to be an oem you included or your radio version. you will not see this behavior using the kitchen as it was released no matter what packages you include.

First of all, thanks dcd! I've been using your ROMs on my Titan for a few months now, and couldn't stand it without them.

With that said, I've searched and lurked everywhere, but can't seem to find the answer to a simple question. I'm sure the reason is because most find it common sense, but it eludes me. I'm unable to install Java applications such as Opera Mini or the Gmail client. I assumed that was because you had removed Java, but I don't see that listed in the documentation, nor am I able to find a cab to replace it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks again for everything you have done for the community.

It worked only problem was I couldnt figure out how to increase the send limit size it only wanted to send 1kb messages and you cant really fit any size pic in that.
I had the same mms messenger on my phone before this rom and it worked fine as long as the pic wasnt huge, so i tried to install that but it must have messed up some reg files somewhere or something because it doesnt show up as an option in the messages folder. The only thing I cna do is goto the options screen of mms..

I had an interesting time with this one...

I unlocked the phone, did the radio then the DCD ROM, it seemed to work well, my phone still said Sprint when powered on. Then active sync stopped working and performance tanked.

So I downloaded the Sprint Mogul update, and since my phone would not connect I had to hold power and cam when pressing reset, the start the Sprint ROM update on the PC once it was at the tri color screen. The ROM took and I returned to the tri color screen to load the DCD ROM again.

Now it just says HTC on boot and flies, works really nice, I put the Office back in and all my programs too.

Weird the way it acted, seems like this second run is a charmer.

I'm trying to find a version of HTC Album to work with this rom... I've found a few different versions, but they're not 100% working with it. When I try to open the software, it tends to direct me to the defaut folder which I think is the \Document\My Picture...

Is there a version that works better then the other????

Interesting, I'm running 1.6.7 and have the same problem but I'm under the belief that it was a program-side problem; I use Egress for reading RSS feeds and I was playing around with the auto-update feature it has. I have since disabled autoupdate and it *seems* to be ok....

Not really an issue, just a small bug. Ever since you changed the boot screen to have that yellow/orange area on the bottom with the radio version/rom version, etc. The first couple of pixels aren't straight edged on the top of the yelloww/orange line. I just thought I should note it.

I think my problems with my titan not coming out of standby are software related. In fact, of all the programs I have installed, I actually think my problems may be with my screen locking program (S2U2). I think there I have is setup to lock down the the powerbutton (by mistake) which is why once the machine goes to sleep, it never comes back on. Going to uninstall S2U2 and see, the then while I'm testing the various setting (I love A_C for the ability to customize this program).

I'll report back as I went back to 1.6.19 and its still doing it.

Just flashed to newest last night. no issues so far. BT seems to be working fine. will test this afternoon on my drive home. Very nice though. Im a simplistic guy so i like the fact this is a clean ROM. Thanks for your hard work DCD.

Well unfortunatly last night I flashed back to OEM sprint. Talked with my wife for well over an hour on BT and the whole time Kept being told it is breaking up and sounding very bad. Same area ive used the headset prior. Dunno if its a issue with the ROM but she said speakerphone had a bad echo aswell which it didnt before. Either way DCD fantastic ROM i love the look and functionality man. Im gonna keep watching your ROMS though.

Not Hallucinating :) I was testing internet speed at my desk and I noted the signal strength to see if the transfer speed would increase when I had full signal. After playing with it for a while I flashed it and when it powered cycled I had either 0 or 1 bar showing. Also on a side note, when I click on the mail icon on the HTC home screen it defaults to pics/video folder instead of outlook, how can I change that?

edit: no, i did not touch the radio, only flashed the ROM from page 1 of this thread. Radio is still 1.32.00, I checked it before flashing.

Well I didn't know where else to post this and since I'd love to be able to try DCD's Titan ROM I figured I'd get pointed in the right direction here. I'm wearing my flameproof suit, but please just get me started on the path. I've looked through the wiki here to try to find detailed step by step from factory stock to a new ROM, but I got lost. I've read as much as possible in this forum about unlocking the Titan (I'm on VZW), but my head is spinning and I'm looking for some simple step by step instructions on how to:

1. Unlock. I installed the passport.net thingy and it installed ok. I downloaded ver. 1.10 from the link on the first page of Olipro's post on how not to brick your Titan. I recalled DCD writing somewhere that I needed at least 1.20 or 1.30, but higher than 1.10 anyway. I didn't know the one I installed was 1.10 until it was done. I couldn't figure out what the path was to see what my SPL is since attempting to install Olipro's unlocker. Am I unlocked? The unlocker program had a little error message right before it finished, but then went on to say it was complete.

2. Saving settings. I did not proceed with the ROM re-flash because the unlocker from Olipro prompted me to save all my settings so they can be applied to the new ROM and I was again unsure of the file path where these settings could be found and copied to a safe location.

3. Installing a .CAB. I looked in the folder "My Windows Based Mobile Device" that comes up on my PC when my Titan's usb'd and saw the Google maps cab that was put there when I selected Google maps from "Get New Programs" on my Titan's start menu. I figured that I might be able to drag and drop the HTCHome customizer .CAB next to Google maps and it would be installed. Not the case. I just wanted to start out small and customize my HTCHome, but I apparently don't know what it means or how to install a .CAB.

I'm having the same errors. I have a post on PPCGeeks about it. The only Rom I can install is the 2.17 Official Sprint Rom. ALL other roms that I try to install fail. I have unlocked my Mogul. Really sucks as I see folks posting nothing but positive remarks overall about dcd's Roms and I wanna try it out!!!

you have to get the iota cab it can be found on this forum and set uo data provisioning i think i read you can avoid this by using internet everytime you flash etc. don't flash rom not use internet then flash another andi do also beleive he includes this packacge in newer roms

I think your problems are due to the SPL version. run the SPL relocker and load Olipro 1.20.

I'm not sure if you'll have to load an OEM ROM after relocking before reinstalling the 1.20 SPL.

I believe the 2.40 version is only for the new 3.27 radio......

....but I could be completely wrong.

I've been running DCD's 2.2.0 ROM for a while now, but I've been seriously considering dropping back down to 1.6.10. It's the most stable ROM I've run on my Mogul.

I like the GPS on the newer ROMs, but I don't have Rev A in my area yet, and I have a BT GPS so I think I can wait for the official release then I'll install DCD's version of that one.

I agree. I dont even have EVDO here... Sprint can't tell me when we'll get it. I have a Panasonic Toughbook CF-18 tablet I use with BT GPS, so GPS doesnt intrest me, I want speed and stability. Now, if I could only try to Treo 750v threaded SMS trick.

I flashed my XV6800 with 1.6.10 and Radio 3.27.00. The Radio stayed but the ROM is back to 2.09. Why did this happen? I do not want to reflash because I had to call Verizon and I was on the phone with them for 40mins getting my phone re-authenticated. Can anyone help? Thanks

yeah its wm6.1, it is done except for bluetooth issues that i think are being caused by the same thing people are seeing in 2.3.1.

I've tried 1.6.10 and 1.6.8 and neither of them will get past the boot screen... anyone else have that problem? I flash back to stock VZW and boots fine...

Ya I've been able to go between 1.2 and 2.4 without a problem... I'm still at 1.2 now but still a no go on the 1.6.8+ series roms unfortunately... I guess I'll have to stick with vzw signed and hope 1.7 will work when dcd gets it out to us...

I'm really surprised so many people stick with the 2.x series when the 3.27 radio is so buggy. I have a feeling when 1.7 comes out it will be the next big hit until carriers release another version of rev a radio that doesn't drop connection.

I've upgraded to a 6.1 dutch windows mobile rom, but i'm not sure if i can use the officemobile.cab from your started post where you excluded the office out. It's english i presume? your phone is GSM. this part of the forum is for the ROM incompatible CDMA Titan phone. if you are looking for office mobile, a search will get it done.
