Hi everyone,
I have an hw6515a I bought on eBay, it was sold as "Unlocked", but when I received it, it was locked.
The problem is that I have the unlock code but cannot put it in. The phone has 7 tries on the SIMLOCK.
Does anyone know or can explain how to reset the SIMLOCK counter?
Ive hard reset the phone. I loaded Spanish ROM v1.29, downloaded to 1.1 and the SIMLOCK is still on 7 tries.
Thanks

Hi all again,
After messing around very much with my iPAQ, downgrading the rom to version 1.06(English), back up to 1.29 (spanish), down to 1.24(English), and vice versa. I was not able to make the simlock counter reset (go back to 0).
I was very blue, because I bought 3 iPaq (two hw6515 and one 6315), the others were for my cousin and his brother-in-law. :(
The solution was very simple:
1.- I bought a sim unlock code on eBay ($us 15), and just in case bought from another seller (Both sellers gave me the exact unlock code). Anyway my phone company wanted to charge me $us 110 for each phone.
2.- Without the sim card in the phone I deactivated the auto power off and made the LCD light turn off after 5 mins when plugged to AC.
3.- I left my sim hard in the iPaq overnight and plugged to the charger.
4.- Left the phone on all night.
When I woke up early in the morning, the OK/Accept button was activated.
I put in the unlock code and.... walaaaa :D
Now will do the same to the other.
I hope this can help others with the same problem.
Cheerssss

Hi Kelas,
I bugged Cingular/ATT to the point where they have issued me an unlock code. I, at some point, had gotten a warranty replacement unit from cingular. So when I put a t-mobile card in, it right away said, tried 5 times, wait for timeout.
Anyways, my question is regarding your method. Between steps 2 & 3, you let the phone die, right?

put a foreign sim card in your phone and turn on the phone. when the it power all the way up with the screen where it ask for enter code but you can't click on OK button. JUST leave it overnight with charger plug in just in case yur battery goes down and the ok button should be appear again.

Thanks a lot for the info. I will try it out as soon as I can get hold of a non-ATT SIM card.

Asked "SUPER EASY" .. To see who knows something
(From Spain) I have a 6915 (in Spanish) Movistar company, recently released, and they want to send to a business partner in France.
I wanted to do two things, unlock, and change the ROM to the French.
I asked the unlock code for about € 25, and took to get there, I proceed with the ROM and flasee, with a French Orange ROM.
The result was a perfect change of the French language.
I have reached the code. And now they have sold the code is not valid. Get the message (in french) code rejected.
Questions:
Could it be that by changing the ROM now is not the same code that unlocked when it was in Spanish?
How many attempts have before lock? (I stopped and took 2)
How flash, it resets the number of attempts to unlock?
That's it ... To see if there is any expert to help
And pardon my English ...
