Currious thing happened when I flashed, (SD Method), I have seem to have lost Office. Can't find it anywhere. Any guesses?

Searched again and under the windows folder, there are some blank office files like OneNoteMobile, pword, and pxl. All these I can use, so it seems that the icons for word are missing in the programs folder, but the program itself IS installed. I wonder if the SD flashing method has something to do with it. Will reflash and see.

I too have lost Office programs. I also cant find a battery indicator without going to the power function.

Other than that, this ROM is fast! I will let you know about the stability in a couple of days. But its working great. Thanks:D

thuggin, onthezone:
I deleted Palm's BatteryIndicator. It cause a trouble with some key customizer. There are many software to display battery information more accurate.

chakli:
I ported System Files from double_ofour's Wizard ROM Kitchen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303195). Unfortunatelly, I do'nt have TOMTOM.

BTW, I can give other features,
Delete PorkPie service(Auto Configulation for connection settings)
Delete Messaging(Pocket Outlook handles SMS only)
Delete WiredCarKit
Delete VoiceCommandDoes anyone need UltraLite Edition?

P.S.:I've fixed Office Issue, now. And I'll post it later:)

I think that Palm hasn't copmplete optimizing OEM package for WM6 yet, because of the OEM packages version 5.1.xx.xx.
It is difficult that all the Palm's features are suited to new AKUs.:(

To delete Palm's PhoneLookUp, your IM program may work.

First of all thx chaimd for your effort and time:

I had some sparetime tonight to flash and test your customrom.

I only flashed your OS and left the orginal (latest) ROW radio, at first all seems okay but I then when driving around I noticed that my navigation software (TomTom 6) was acting weird. Mainly strange (not complete) screen updates, loss of connection to BT GPS and missing parts on the screen. As this is a crucial function on my treo, I did no further testing and flashed back the ROW OS. After this TomTom 6 is functioning normal again.

Guess I will wait a while, till these little speedbumps are history.

Again, thx for your time :)

Kind regards
marl

I was wondering if you could take a look at an issue for me...

I use a car kit via Bluetooth (Parrot CK3100), and the phonebook doesn't automatically sync from the phone to the car kit correctly. Instead of syncing the phone book, it only syncs contacts from the Speed Dial plugin. Even if I have Speed Dial turned off from the Today Items.

It's obvious that the phone has a working Sim Access Profile (rSAP), since it uploads the carrier name, battery level, and signal level to the kit; it's just pulling phone book entries from the wrong location.

I have no idea even where to point you to, since I have no idea how the inner workings of Windows Mobile mesh together... :(

Here's to hoping you can come up with something, it would be totally awesome!

FSB
21st November 2007, 05:49 AM
I have a Parrot 3200LS color.
To get contacts to sync, I need to make a category called CarKit, I have done this in Outlook, but you can do it on the phone as well. By selecting the category Carkit on individual contacts, these plus the speed dials get synced to the Parrot.
I also remember I had an issue if the same number was on the sim card as in speedial, seemed to crash.
I'm using WM6 2.23-RWE

TerryMathews
21st November 2007, 06:09 AM
Good to know, I added all my contacts to the CarKit category.

Maybe with this knowledge, someone can find the registry setting or whatever that controls it and change it so that all the contacts get synced regardless of what category they're in. Personally, that's the way I want it to work, the CK3100's got plenty of memory since I don't use it for voice dialing.

I'll have you know that "Bonk!" and all variations thereof is copyrighted, patented, and trademarked by me and any use by someone other than me must be approved after submitting a notarized Form 5150 stoke B in triplicate via telex, except on Thursdays, in which case an audio cassete tape with the proper request spoken in the native Chippewa launguage will suffice.

Oh and thx for stuffing Office 6.1 in your ROM..saved me time and effort. =)

Hi, Darkanima, sliders7;

I understand that you want to localize it, indeed.
I began ROM cooking for Japanese locaization.
WWE coocked ROM is just a byproduct of my Japanese coocked ROM.

Okay, I'll show you the package tree,
included AKU0.7.0 SYS, Original OEM and batch files, in a few days.:)
I can't continue maintenance ROMs of forign languages for me.

There are informations how OEM packages change the windows default, in .RGU files.
And reading my batch files, you'd be able to know my choices of tools and settings.
There is just a little differnt from Hermes or Kaiser.

marleyb, TerryMathews, FSB;

Humm....:( It's difficult for me.
Maybe, nobody uses WiredCarKit in Japan. I can't inspect the issue.
And my bluetooth GPS BT-359 works fine with GoogleMaps Mobile.
I heard that TomTom6 has troubles with Kaiser, too.

So far I've modded your rom to use a 4mb pagepool rather than the default 6mb. It gives me an extra 2mb of program memory and the performance seems the same if not better so far.

I also removed picsel viewer as I use the full version and not just the file viewer.

Anyobody know of how to get PCM.015 or 16 to work with the treo or to remove the default palm threaded messaging appication? It conflicts with a lot of programs that integrate with sms/mms.

Hi, is there any way to get the phone out of the tri-colour bootloader mode?

My genius co-worker tripped over the power lead and knocked the battery out of the Treo while it was at the first grey loading screen, and now whatever I do the phone only shows the bootloader.

I have tried resetting, including hard resetting and it still goes back to the same tri-colour screen. If i put the Mini-SD card in and reset it i get the grey "Loading..." screen and it shows 00068002 at the top in red and then once again goes back to the bootloader.

Help please!

*UPDATE*

Disregard comment - fixed it ;) Mods please delete this post!

For anyone interested, after some searching, I think I have finally found a replacement battery icon which is free and works nicely with Chaimd's 0.7.0 rom which does not have a battery icon by default. I wanted something simple that was similar to the OEM meter. I tested a number of different solutions and this is the one I settled on.

http://andrsd.blogspot.com/2006/08/batti-21.html

I hope this might help anyone who needs a basic battery meter.

I can build a bootable light version WWE ROM, light means "no PorkPie Service" and "no Palm Messaging."

Yes, WM6.1 has threaded SMS:)
If you will port WM6.1 to Treo750, I recommend to try Kaiser's official WM6.1

Yeah, why don't do that. We can install our own apps. A stripped down version sounds great and possibly more stable. Even with you .70 rom I am getting freezes everyday. having to soft reset, but its still an awesome rom when comparing to the vanilla version.

Why don't you post up your 6.1 WWE light bootable light version rom? I would love to try it...

I now have your successful and much faster ROM installed - very nice - even your logo! No problems at all except for the fact that I am showing "Home" where my "Voicemail" used to be on the left menu button.

UPDATE: Had to re-flash the Radio only - by renaming the radio ROM update also to CHEEIMG.nbh and rebooting. Radio updated and Voicemail Menu Item back.

I guess this is where i should post. i can't get the rom installed im completely new to this... I've got an unlocked (i think its sim unlocked) 750v with vodafone wm6 rom.

i didn't install Hard-SPL or flash the radio as the instructions on this thread say as step 1 of Hard-SPL failed.

I tried to install the rom straight away... i put the ROM on my memory card root and renamed it, then did the reset with sidebutton...and i got to the wierd colors screen and nothing happenes after that.
It says on the screen:

Palm Tr
IPL-0.20

Palm Tr
SPL-0.24.0000

In the end nothing happens... this method doesnt work. i tried using KaiserRUU.exe update method but also that doesn't work it gives me and "Error [260]: Connection" even though activesync is connected... please tell me what i can do to install this rom. I stopped using the phone because the interface is so slow... i really want to get this rom working.

Windows Mobile 6.1 will be unveiled officially in about 2 weeks at Mobile World Congress 2008 (watch our first-hand reports from there!) but already now somebody has managed to play with it!

Here are the highlights:

* Office Mobile now includes also One Note Mobile application - apart from Word Mobile, Excel Mobile and PowerPoint Mobile, one new application is available - it can record voice notes and drawings and textual notes
* Internet Explorer now has function "Zoom Out" what enables page-overview mode and better overall navigation through web pages
* Windows Mobile 6.1 still is based on Windows CE 5.2 so no upgrade to Windows CE 6.0
* SMS chat view mode is available so SMS messages can appear in threaded-way - more comfortable to follow SMS conversations
* instead of "Settings / Memory / Running Programs" now a Task Manager is available with possibility to set settings of executed threads/processes like CPU (indication of dual-core Windows Mobile devices?) and memory
* new menu item "Managed Programs"
* the much expected improvements in usage for finger based navigation - are nowhere to be found! (apparently users will need to wait till 2009 for Windows Mobile 7 to get them)

i have that same problem as well. boot loader is not corrupt...why would you say that...the boot loadre loads...that's what the coloured lines are...
i just went to back to 2.27row rom...
mine is a fully unlocked generic treo 750. dont see why i need to use the hard spl??? but maybe you need to to load this special cooked rom...

ok i got it installed after much time and it works great :)

Apparently there is something wrong with the machine i was using as the graphical installer tool for Hard-SPL couldn't install.... i installed activesync on another laptop and everything worked fine.

Here are the steps you need to take:
1) Install Hard-SPL and run only step 1. (step 2 and 3 only needed if your phone is not unlocked). This will allow you to install custom rom's from now on.

2) Don't use the memory card method as the alternative is easier. Just download KaiserRUU.exe which has a gui that will install the rom for you (place the rom in the same folder and run the program).

That's it. Seems simple but took me 3 days to get it working and to get files from that rubbish rapidshare site that keeps blocking me from downloading.

Looking forward to future light weight mods of yours :)

My 750 has been sitting in its box for 2 months because it was so unusably slow (probably as im used to light linux systems).

Now with "WM6 AKU0.7.0 WWE Cooked ROM Lite" my other phone, a sony ericcson is the only phone in its box... for good :) thanks

2.27 APAC is older OS AND older radio then the ATT rom and still has backlight bug. This is newer OS compared to APAC and ATT rom which you can suite with te latest radio. So no need to be rocket scientist for this decision :)

mb

fastest os till date is the 6.1 release of chaimd. but this one still has some drawbacks in everyday use

Hi guys,

Thank you for a great rom. I have a few questions hoping someone can verify. I started out with ATT 2.25-ATT version, firmware 1.54.27. I then hard-spl my phone, then loaded cooked rom WM6 AKU 7. The phone is now much snappier with more space. However, my version is still 2.25ATT with firmware now 1.16.00.00.

1. Is the firmware the same as the Radio version?
2. After the change over, I don't seem to find the "H" for HSPDA like I used to, now mostly only "3G".
3. Is there anyway I can flash the radio now if the answer to #1 is Yes.

I have the US ATT version. Thankx so much in advance guys. This forum is great!!

I have finally figured it out. In order to flash the radio file, just rename this radio file 1.54 to CHEEIMG.nbh, put this file on a formatted (32) miniSD (in the very fisrt directory), then reboot the phone.
Afterward, I'm now with a very snappy Rom, radio 1.54.00 and much much bigger space. I now have ~ 25MB left after all my programs are installed vs. ~ 10MB before the update. Hope this will help someone. Thankx again OP!!

I am having a problem with this ROM and IM+ program. When I log on and select a contact it automatically shuts down.

Samn this ROM is fast...but I need FULL functionality.

I have this issue as well with this ROM.

Did you ever figure out the solution?

I am sorry to be posting this but I have been looking all over on how to install this ROM correctly. I have been seaching this site and all over. I have done this before on my Kaiser and on this Treo 750 but I am been out of the scene for so long that I forgot how to do it. I am sure I have Hard-SPL install already too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thuggin, onthezone:
I deleted Palm's BatteryIndicator. It cause a trouble with some key customizer. There are many software to display battery information more accurate.

chakli:
I ported System Files from double_ofour's Wizard ROM Kitchen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303195). Unfortunatelly, I do'nt have TOMTOM.

BTW, I can give other features,
Delete PorkPie service(Auto Configulation for connection settings)
Delete Messaging(Pocket Outlook handles SMS only)
Delete WiredCarKit
Delete VoiceCommandDoes anyone need UltraLite Edition?

P.S.:I've fixed Office Issue, now. And I'll post it later:)

Was this ultralight version ever released?

Hi,
I am just wondering that if it is necessary to flash radio before flash os?
Or can I just build a nbh format file containing only os.nb?
