well not sure about the other devices but the shift has not being released yet! for sale so a forum would be of little use at the moment but once the people who own these devices increase we can expect a change. but not till then. and also lets not be negtive these guys perform a great service to us and dont get paid they only get my and hopefully others respect and support....

hey i agree that the mods do a lot for us .... on the other hand if the mods alone cant create sub forums...who can do it...coz if there will be forums ..people will automatically join..and when people will join thr will be constructive discussions goin on...even if it is for a TO BE released fone...aint it

Only the admins can add new forums, of thoses admins i think only 1, Flar, is active and she has the flu atm...

My apologies for not responding earlier but as midget explained I wasn't able to due to sickness.

The HTC vogue has been added if i'm not mistaken this is the codename for the touch dual.
The HTC shift has been added.
The HTC polaris is added.

Gene and Phoebus are still under discussion within the mod forum.
I hope everyone understands that we don't create a forum for every device HTC thinks up (although we'd love to) but we are short on space and for every new forum we need mods to support them..

When you check the new posts,you see only the Kaiser,Elf and Tytn under discussion.I own a gene,but I think the factors standing in the way of its forum are:

1. Nobody can come up with a WM6 upgrade. No point in discussing something that doesnt have any issues/problems. What are we gonna do at that forum,brag about a stable handset?Really,now.:rolleyes:

2. Not enough Gene owners speaking out.No advanced users interested in tinkering with it.The ROM Kitchens arent very helpful to the RUU either.

touch dual is "nike", "vogue" is touch for USA (CDMA) with different chipset from original touch and dual... Completely different devices ;)

No Way. On the forum home page there is indeed a "no new posts" icon in front of Himalaya WM6, but that's not correct. The Hima is very much alive and kicking and so are the Hima community and the WM6 cooks.

Of course I hope you get your own boards. But you'll have to create your own exciting action, I'm affraid. Why not start the action in here, in the general discussion area? Publish an exciting ROM, a kitchen and some interresting questions about your device right here and soon enough the admins will transfer them to your own brand new area. At least that's what I'd expect. I'm not an admin or a moderator.

Personally, I think the current list needs to be categorised into generations because despite having a screen resolution of 1280x1024, it remains an absolute pain in the arse to scroll through everything to find the forum you want to go to... perhaps firstly categorising the phones into their various "generations" with no pictures just names (although a horizontal line of phone images across the top similar to the wiki would be good since that wouldn't bloat things too badly) but overall, the idea of just dumping them into Generation categories would save on a hell of a lot of scrolling in any case, and images at the top can enable the casual idiots to find the correct phone.

That's my thinking anyway.

Id rather excite the wallet of some programmer who comes up with the ROM I want.That, as you say, will set the benchmark/starting point,which is what I said in my first post on this forum.

I don't know - moving the wheel is kind of exercise. I once got a joke mail like that - but the page to scroll there was smaller then the forums list.

Well, not that my two bits much matters, but some phones are available in the UK and other parts and not even close to being released here in the US. Some phones are a hiccup that IMHO (forgive me Wing owners) aren't worthy of much attention (Wizards rule-Wings drool). Unless we start actively paying for membership to help with all the space/bandwith/etc...we cannot possibly have a forum section every time HTC farts. Some of HTC's ppc's are awesome, and some are like...what were they thinking!! And yes, if you want your phone recognized, contribute something to catch the attention of the admin's other than just bitching. Release a rom or a list of cool hacks...something that says my phone rocks...and especially if it isn't absolute mass market yet. Create interest. Finally, please show some love to the admins/mods. This is a big damn forum, very popular, much traffic...and having modded other mass traffic forums, I can say personally, that it's a real bitch!! Admins/mods have lives and families and jobs BEYOND xda (believe it or not)...so show some love for the hard work they do for us, and for all we have now (which is a damned sight more than just about anywhere else!)...other sub-forums will come. Be patient.

I say leave the admins and mods alone. If they want to create a new forum for a new device they will do it but if not then ok because this is a community and it has rules admins create and destroy so if they where deciding not to make new forums then they would of already deleted this thread.

This site has grown i only wish i could contribute $$$ but i have no way of sending. If you want something you need to contribute in someway or wait for it when it comes.

Sorry admins for this type of people only because im becoming one of them.:(

in my opinion... it would make perfect sense for there to be a forum for every single HTC device known. For instance, there are no forums for the s720 or s730. Even just a forum for the "s7xx series (Vox/Wings/Libra)" would make more sense than none.

THE touch cruise was announced in NOVEMBER 2007....and the forum is OPEN...and furthermore...except for some known differences...dunno how is the VOGUE different than TOUCH....please explain guys.

calm down ... i'm disappointed, too. but first of all no mod can create a forum. just an admin can do this.

but if flar has no time, why not get another admin? it's not total anarchy if a trusted mod gets an upgrade and there is no magic to use the admin cp of vbulletin, everybody can do this.

Not sure if anybody has noticed this. The Cavalier forum has been created, however, it is listed as the S620 (needs to be S630), and it also needs to be in the Smartphone section. Just pointing this out, I'm sure somebody already knows about this though :)

yeah its really the same, except 400mhz qualcomm instead of 200mhz ti-omap. oh wait it has doubled ram and rom ... hmm this could be caused by the complete different chipset.

in one section, you have people discussing XDA Atom, XDA Atom Exec, XDA Comet, XDA Atom Life, HPrw68XX. And believe me, their not one and the same. :(

Don't mean to hijack, but it would be nice if the categories were more distinct. I would like to see a ROM, software, help (for questions), etc. instead of simply general, upgrading, and accessories IMHO, that would help out a little with some of the random posting that is inevitable with new and desperate users.

Yeah, I just said that. I think you misread my previous post :) I said that when the Cavalier forum was created it was listed as the S620 (Needs to be changed to the S630). I'm pretty sure I know the model number seeing as how I have the phone.
