I did various searches on the site trying to find this....anyone have a simple solution to disable the IR Beam at startup? By default it's being enabled each boot and I'd like to save as much battery as possible.

*update*

I've since found I can use the following program with a parm of "-iroff" to disable infrared. All that is needed is a shortcut with the parm in \windows\startup but if you have a better solution...speak up!

Try going to start/settings/connections, click beam & uncheck receive all incoming beams. than go to comm manager make sure the X is indicated on beam.

This is the way I do it and it stays disabled.
