I have a P3300 ( ARTEMIS ) and it is running a third party software.

The device will either.

1. freeze
2. have a fit and display a device error of system error.
3. nothing at all.

When the pda is rebooted it will stop at the htc boot screen and just stay there and flicker.....

does any one have any clues on what causes this and how to fix it.....:D

Which 3rd party software?

Try a hard reset by holding the left and right action softkeys (next to the green/red phone buttons) and press the reset hole with your stylus and hold it for a few seconds. Then release your stylus and keep holding the two softkeys until the HTC logo appears..

I have tried a hard reset and the unit will come back online.
I have been told that the flicker screen can be linked to internal file corruption.... But I'm not sure..

Just try the device for awhile and see if it'll happen again..

I have used the device with out the third party software and it worikd fine. Even upgraded it to wm6.

Put the third party soft ware back on the device and after 72 hrs it will freeze. With either a warm or cold boot the flicker screen will appear....

The only thing that makes my screen flicker is when I use omapclock and overclock to a speed the display doesn't like. I suppose the display and the cpu are connected in some way. The refresh rate goes down to about 20-25 fps which makes my screen flicker. If you tell us which software you are using we might help you, except it's too embarassing to tell us what it is.

As asked before by prodinho, which 3rd party software are you talking about?

I think I already know what 3rd party software you are using...

I agree with the comment above, its usually over-clocking software that causes screen flicker. I use Xcpuscaler but that has a built in screen flicker filter ;-)

The third party software goes like this.

jobs get sent to it.
can respond to the job.
at the head office the server will send the data back to the pda and send the details straight into the tomtom that the psda has(ver.5).

after the job is completed the user can price the job and ask for the next job.....
