Program battery drain question

Could anyone tell me if i install memory resident programs like spb phone suite or phone alarm in the card, drains more battery than if installed in the phone's memory?

One other thing, anyone knows some nice profile changing programs, including one that changes the profile when i insert the headset. i only know spb phone suite until now.

Regarding the first question, it shouldn't drain your battery more than it does normally.
