What to do after the ruurun 0, I obtain 0% on the screen of the Touch (mine ELF010000/ORANG202) ? May I wait to 100% indication before doing ResetDevice ? Or to do ResetDevice just after ruurun 0 when there appear 0% on the Touch's screen ?
Please help me I don't know what to do for reviving my ELF !

Hi all,

My elf is dead. after haveing som signal receiveng problem, I tryed to dissamble it, i TOOK IT TO MY FRIEND WHO FIXES CELL PHONES.he made som staff there, used Fan, and after that elf would not load. there was not even smatr mobility on a screen, just blans whit escreen.

now even this is gone, it has no reaction on power or restars buttons. I thought the battery was empty, sio i pluged it in a charger, but there is o signal that is is charged, only after few hours battery goes hot (so it should be charged)

well can you please tell if this can be possible. I thing that after using Fan-heater to clean all connections on motherboad. one of the memory modules on board was overheated an the boot data was deleated.

thats the reason it doens start.

so if I'm wright can enyone tell me how to make it work. if it is possible ofcourse\

My Elfin is blocked on the bootloader screen (and spashscreen in a normal starting).
Informations on the 3 colors bootloader screen are:

SPL 2.20.0000

I used this tutorial with MTTY and the work well done.
But nothing as changed !! I try for fun to launch a RUU but the same message is showed.

I have been flashing many times before but tonight I forgot to unlock my Touch and now I am stuck in tricolor screen.

I have tried to reset in every way possible, MTTI, Snoopy etc. but no luck. MTTI is not working and the Snoop, I don’t know? The reason are mabye that I don’t have any connection between the device and ActiveSync at all (but mobile screen says USB …)

I have been reading XDA fore hours but can not find my way. Pleas anyone!

Hello there,
I tryied to upgrade the rom with a cooked one. Something went wrong. It was just switching on and off at the "smart mobility" screen.
So I tried to restore the phone in various uncessfull ways. Now it is stuck at the "file is corrupted" message, no matter which rom I try to put.

My original:

My actual (I don't know how I have changed it)

EDIT: I was quite sure that I unlocked CID (when active sync was working). Now I got the "FF" code which means this is now CID unlocked..

After flashing multitudes of times, course I have tried hard reset! Hard reset just won’t do it for me. I am stuck in “color screen”, sadly.

For those having problems with the procedure, pay attention to every little detail: DISABLE ACTIVE SYNC USB!!! AND REMOVE ANY SIM OR SD CARD FROM THE PHONE!!

Just recovered my HTC Elfin after a bad Radio Flash. I used RUU_Elfin_DOPODASIA_WWE_2.20.707.1B_4.1.13.51_03.0 7.90_BLUE_Ship_Reduced.exe
and it worked like a charm. I was worried that I had me a new shiny brick, but apparently a lot of reading, help and elbow grease made it work.

i'm having a issue. I just flashed my HTC Elf with the USPL for later flashing cooked ROM's. But before i want do check if my CID is unlock or not. and the only way to do that is threw mtty. The problem is that i can connect. I do exactly as the instrutions say but it won't open the USD door. any help please?

I know most of you don't have several of the same devices to do this with. Anyways I have several touch's laying around, and I was flashing one to a cricket rom. I built my rom as always with the ppckitchen. But this time something went wrong, everything seemed to go fine, until i got to the alignment screen, the phone kept locking up... if I held the power button down it would pop up the window asking to shut the device down, so I knew the phone was functional. Just couldn't get it to go any further.

I downloaded the original sprint rom, and went through the processes with a normal working device.

I put the locked device in bootloader mode.

Once the good device got to the point in the RUU where it switches the phone over to bootloader mode, right as it disconnects from the usb and activesync I just swapped the device, and put the locked one that was already in bootloader mode in place of the good one. It went through and did everything just fine, loading the stock rom.

Idk if this will help, but it worked for me... I found this thread trying to figure out how to fix it. While in the process of trying this method... it worked, so I figured I'd share.

You should be able to just as long as you can get into you windows mobile system. Just remember you have to unlock the phone before you flash any rom. here is a link with correct combined ipl and spl http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408637 look at posy #3 it will have the unlockers install both of them on the phone before you flash any rom.

So now you just need to find a rom that match with your device and start the rom upgrade process.

Put your elf on 3 color boot mode, connect using USB on your computer and start the RUU.
No need to use MTTY commands at this point. Just a regular updtade.

Yesterday, after the operation I have detail before, I tried to install new ROMs on the mobile. But each time the custom boot screen displayed on the screen and then the mobile turns off.

I have checked that the ROMs have been built for the mobile's model. And I have followed the process given by the developper of the ROM.
Maybe you can redirect on the good website where I can find some good ROM for the HTC Touch Elf.

PS : Last question. On some website people ask us to verify if we have flash with the latest USPL before flashing this ROM. What's is exactly USPL please ?

I've seen that you have an IPL 2.20.0002 and SPL 1.11.0000, I guess that this is the source of your problems try updating your phone via the tricolor screen (hold camera button and reset) Unactive the USB mode on activesync and connected via USB.

Download This archive: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=45469&d=1185750816 Extract it on your PC drive (at the root of a drive)

Go to the RUU directory and replace the ELF_USPL_v1.nbh file by the one you'll find here: (release 3.07.0000_SPL) http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jo2yz2z5mtk

Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow steps,

When finished restart your device, normaly will be okay.

After testing it's not working.

I have first extract the "ELF_USPL-v1.zip" file. Then I went in the RUU folder. "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" does not recognise the 'nb' file from the 2 links you gave me : "Patched_3.07.0000_SPL.nb" & "3.07.0002_IPL.nb".

You told me to replace the "ELF_USPL_v1.nbh" file but if I try to rename the nb with the 'nbh' name : it's not working. If I simply put the file the folder, "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" does not recognise the file. Are you shure I can use some 'nb' file instead of 'nbh' file ?

I have the following question: can I create Gold microSD card, using only my PC and Card-Reader? My Elf doesn't want to boot. It boots only in bootloader (IPL: 1.13.0002 and SPL: 1.13.0000). The phone is CID-locked. T-Mobile MDA Touch 64/128.

It seems you are an expert for HTC's, I received a new one device bought but software was at french, I down load a programm that should change language but instead the device just got off, and when I turn it on just show initial HTC screen and right after get off, if I press on + camera button i see the 3 color screen but get frozen, do you know if there are any chances to reinstall ROM and make it work again.

I really dont know what im doin but ive messed with stuff like this before.

Ive connected through ActiveSync, run MTTY and it said something- devise should show SPL version unplug your USB and pulg it back in. My devise goes to a White screen and wont do anything. And my ActiveSync disconnects from the HTC Touch. Have to unplug batt. to power off. Phone seems fine after. What am i doing wrong??:confused: Should i try in Tri Color Boot Loader??

did you tried to flash an original ROM from manufacturer in the tricolor boot-loader ? removed your memory card before you flashing ROM

ok i flashed my alltel rom it works. when i turn it on the phone shows alltel!! BUT I called Alltel to activate it and it will not connect to Alltel towers *228 or manul activate ##000000. I think it is lookin for Sprint service! -How do i fix this?? :confused:

Hi guys,
i need your cooperation to try to unbrick my Elf if it's possible...

Two days ago, i tried to flash my device but unfortunately the .nbh file was wrong and my Elf is dead now, it wont boot !!

If i do an hard-reset, it ask me to confirm the operation but then fails the format command and stucks with the operator logo.
If i power on it, nothing happens... just black screen.
If i power on it holding the camera button, it load the tricolor boot-loader but, i'm only able to upgrade or downgrade the IPL & SPL with the RUU update utility.
No ROMs work also the original one !!
I always got "Error [322] Invalid Command" during the flash phase.

I already read all the threads on how-to recover a dead Elf with no success !!

My wish now is to buy the new HTC Touch HD ;) but i think that first is better to try all to have back my great Elf, so i hope someone of you can suggest me what to do or if my Elf is definitely dead.

i've the htc touch locked. I've read all your posts about it and i've also tried to
"reborn" again my p3452 that starts itself just with a bootloader screen.

I've tried Hardreset but whithout success. It starts normally but after the FORMATT it restarts on the bootloader.
I've also tried Mtty.exe, but when i launch after Mtty RUU_Elfin_DOPODASIA_WWE_2.20.707.1B_4.1.13.51_03.0 7.90_BLUE_Ship_Reduced.exe and arrive at 3%, it gives an error [270] and it tells me this isn't the right software.
I've downloaded the file .nbh for elfin in italian from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379034) and tried to istall
from sd card and ROMUpdater.exe
When i try from sd card : start the "checking SD contents" and gives the error "Invalid Certificate"
With ROMUpdater.exe i've overwrotten the file.nbh of the blue elves from its folder with the file that i've downloaded for elfin in italian
I guess that maybe i could need an .exe file like RUU_Elfin_DOPODASIA_WWE_2.20.707.1B_4.1.13.51_03.0 7.90_BLUE_Ship_Reduced.exe, with inside the original rom elfin ITA. I can't find it on the net.
I ask to you, where i can find it ?
Can you suggest me other things to do?

Or, when your ROM data have problem, it can boot to tricolors boot-loader only.

1, Make sure your HTC Touch is on the tricolors RUU boot-loader, and being connected to your PC.

Hi i have a slight problem. After installing NYDITOT Virtual Display, Version 5.02 my htc touch hd hangs on smart mobility. I tried a hard reset, but that won't work. I tried to flash, but it won't work. Help....
I can get in the bootloader screen but than after trying to flash the screen on the htc stays on 0% and eventualy it looses the connection.:eek:

REMOVE SD Card (Maybe only MicroHCSD, but I think better to remove all SD Card)

Hi All,
I was trying to upgrade my HTC P3300 with WM6.1 but it hangs up at nearly 9% and got an error on the RUU urility screen saying that there was an error during the update process and asked me to disconnect the PDA, turn it off and turn it on again and then retry the update.
I did as requested by the update utility but when i wanted to turn it on the PDA did not start :(
I tried all possible solutions (soft reset, hard reset ...) but got nothing.
I wonder if the MTTY program will help me flash the ROM of the P3300 even if it doesn't start at all.
Pls give me a link where i can download MTTY.exe

Hi please if any one can help me on my problem with HTC Touch clone ELF0100 HTC P3450. Actually what happened is when I bought this phone everything was working well a few days later I loaded the HTC home plug in 2.0 at the beginning it showed me all the features and as I was working it got freezed so I restarted the phone but it started freezing at Owners Information screen I started resetting many times but with no effect. Since it was a clone I started looking for solution through the internet and got lot of information about hard resetting the unit but all of them did not work actually the phone never comes to the bootloader and skips from windows mobile screen to windows mobile loading screen and then again freezes. I tried to active sync but the laptop does not show any mobile device connected and tried all the snoppy and mtty solution but the mobile is not connected to the laptop so it these solution do not work. Please if any one there is to help me out on these it would be appreciated as the last solution for me is that one of my friend is going back to china and before I send it I would like to do whatever I can do here.

The problem:

- ELF had unresponsive touchscreen (no problem controling the device through USB - mydevice) - so I tried to install a new ROM => tricolor boot

- disconected active sync (using win XP), did all the snoopy drivers installation

- mtty is working, i get FF for g_cKey so device is CID locked, therefore I should install an original ROM, knowing CID and DID - which I do not, as:

- snoopy however does not record comands, so I have nothing to use a hex editor on, it only shows 0 packets

- when I type getdevinfo I get HTCSELF010000gUHYHTCE

- tried all kind of recommended ROMs on this post and the original ROM thread, none worked - at 3% they gave error 270: Update Error - "The image file is corrupted. Please check the update utility"

- I would appreciate it if there were an alternate method of finding CID and DID, for neither original, blue, dopoasia or any other roms don't seem to work

- I also tried to install the ELF0IMG.nbh from SD, as it checks it at startup - at best it gives "Invalid certificate" message

It used to be a SIM unlocked European device, bought without signing a network ontract.

I just gave the commands "password" and "ResetDevice" but that did not help..

I have now HardSPL (3.10.cmon).

After a faulty IPL/SPL upgrade, I got stuck in de BootLoader Screen.
IPL 2.26.002
SPL 2.28.000
I tried everything (MTTY, SPL228.bin etc, etc.) , but no result.........until yesterday evening.

To be short:
I made a Gold Card from my wife's Touch (lucky me....though I had to convince her that her device wasn't going to be wrecked ;)), so my g_cKeyCardSecurityLevel = 0

I jus did a ROM flas with the "HTC_Touch_WWE_ME_2.20.456.1.B .exe".
NO Error 270 or whatsoever....

Now I am upgraded to SPL 3.07 by cmon, and IPL 2.26.002

Just finisched flashing 3rd different ROM, still a working ELF.

Make sure you disable the usb connections in active sync.if youve done that then i know what your problem is.Mtty will connect when the phone is in bootloader mode- tricolor screen . put the phone in bootloader mode and then connect via Mtty

I have and elf, the device is not turning on, even when i try to go to bootloader it wont do anything, but when i connect it to usb cable and hold down the camera key the threecolor screen will boot up, i have tried the original rom but when it starts to flashing at 1% point it will goes blank and nothing happens and i should hold camera key to go to threecolor screen !

Same here! While flashing the new ROM, it stucked at 0%. I have downloaded the ROM from HTC Spring support and using it in India. I haven't removed my SIM and microSD cards. I'll try and see if that works.

Is the any ROM which can upgrade my WM 6 to 6.1? But I am also afraid of the low memory problem. Any solutions? Has anyone done it before?

Need some help here. I have on hand a HTC Elf0100 which refuse to boot normally and It keep showing IPL 2.20.0002, SPL 2.20.0000 with Tri-Colour RUU. I have yet to locates it original ROM. Could anyone of you kindly point out which ROM can I use?

just connect your mobile to pc and try to brick the spl, after process complete immediately run ROM software, your phone will reload the software and its work normally.

Hello. I bought my htc o2 xda II and it was working perfectly till yesterday when it started showing red green n blue lines on reboot..tired both soft and hard reset but without any solution. Then i downloaded the latest rom update from the htc site for this phone. Following are the problems:
1. When i connect the phone with usb cable to start flashing, it does not show an active connection with the windows mobile centre on windows vista.
2. Further continuing without an synchronized connection i tired to update the rom, surprisingly it started to install and showed installation taking place on both the desktop and cell phone screen after which it says installation completed, only that after that nothing happens...it still shows red green n blue and still shows the old SPL version despite the rom update.
Kindly help me to solve this problem.

my ELF got stuck at the boot screen as well.
I can put several original shipped roms on the device successfully but it won't start.
I downloaded all ROMs matching my DID (ELF010000g) and CID(HTC__J15) but no luck. :mad:
I even tried the one supplied from the HTC webpage matching my serial.
Can anyone help, please?
IPL & SPL can very from 1.11.0000 to 1.17.0000 and 2.20.0000 (0002 for IPL)
When I check with mtty the device is still locked but as I could read from the forums the original ROM should work. Right?

I managed to get into Windows with the ROM RUU_Elf_HTC_ARA_1.17.415.3B_4.1.13.47_02.98.90_BLU E_Ship.exe But nevertheless, when it started Windows I could set it up half, then the device switched off and stops at the boot screen again.
Also the LED is not working, no green, orange or red light :(

RUU = Rom Update Utility.

Try to update/flash your Spl again if you can, if not first hard-reset and try this tutorial(backup everything from SD if you want it).

The problem i am facing is unlike any other, i have searched the forum and googled it for sometime but to not much benefit. The problem is:

My elfin suddenly started to hang and hence i powered it off, on powering back on I can see only this message: " This operation will delete all your persoanal data, and reset all settings to manufacture default....."

The problem is the device is frozen, no damn key works.

Then I removed my simcard and msd card and pressed the powerkey+Camera then pressed reset then while holding Power+camera+left+Enter key I am able to restart my device.

As soon as I put back the sim back in, the device restarts and shows the same msg.

When I remove the battery and tried the same key combination I am able to go to the 3 color bootloader screen using my usb cable. which shows IPL, SPL and USB.

But the problem does not end here, its not everytime i can load the 3 colour screen or load windows back in phone using the key combination I mentioned, I dont know when it will work, it works sometimes, sometimes it dont....strange!!!

Also one more thing, my ROM type 2.20.720 was not there on the threads for original ROM(this is the ROM version for most of the HTC ELFIN in INDIA), I got this link //rs174.rapidshare.com/files/109582368/2.20.720.2B.WWE.rar which might have the one I need, I already have downloaded it.

Please suggest.

What happened to it to put it in this state? Sounds bricked? How are you with electronics? (soldering and wiring etc?)

You could JTAG - but again, soldering / wiring, a bit annoying at the same time to be honest!

You're best of going to the artemis section. I am not sure if the same applies here as there.

Thanks for reply captainstu72, i know, soldering, wiring is annoying, but the phone is dead, just on the desk taking dust. So if there is a try i want to do. I downloaded a guide from boomboom81. It is the correct way?

hi,
I try to upgrade my HTC touch GSM with WM6.1 and i done it.. after 15 min my device
got off. then i restart it it showing " Smart Mobility " and get off. when i enter boot loader screen manually it shows...

IPL 1.15.0002

SPL 1.15.0000

when i m trying to install same or any other rom while installing device get restarted again " smart mobility " and off....

what should i do now???

My problem is my elf keeps restarting at the "Smart Mobility" after i insert a onex 6 soft
In the 3 color screen my device didnot shows the RUU text at the right top corner of the screen. I had original ROM of my elf ,and i show on screen that (IPL 2.21.0002) . (SPL 1.11.0000)
