Hi,

Does anyone happen to know where the Messaging application keeps it's message stores?

I want to back up my device and restore the text msgs after upgrading to PK 3.0 dual.

Thanks,

R.

Hi,

I've already used SpriteBackup to backup my device, but I can't find any way of restoring just the messages. Any ideas?

Ok, thanks.

I'll give PIM Backup a go.

However, I've already done a backup using SpriteBackup and upgraded to a new ROM. So, ideally, I'd like to be able to extract the messages from the backup file.

Of course, if that's not possible, I'll have to flash back to the previous ROM, restore the backup, extract the msgs using PIM backup, flash back to the current ROM, and copy the msgs back. Phew!

Aha, that's the sort of information I was looking for - I've had a look through the backup using Sprite Explorer but I had no idea what the name of the file containing the msgs might be.

I'll take another look.

In the meantime, if anyone knows the name and location of the file(s) containing the msgs (text and MMS) it would help me greatly if you could let me know!

Thanks,

R.

Are you sure Sprite Backup ,backup the message?
if no, your messege died...
with another programe you can save them as text and other format, and then you can restore it and better you can read this on pc...!!

No, I'm not. I guess the only way to find out is to restore a backup and see if the msgs are there.

If not, I shall rant at the makers of SpriteBackup and re-think my backup strategy!!

Fortunately, I'm not all that bothered about the msgs - I can manage without them.

Thanks for your continued interest in my petty problems!
