Hi,

So I'm an idiot who typed on my Ameo's keyboard with wet hands. This means the keyboard is fubar'd. I need to obviously return it to T-Mobile for a replacement, but they'll absolutely slaughter me if it's running Windows Mobile 6, I'd imagine. I'm now faced with two tasks:

1) Downgrading
-- I have a friend who has a WM5 Ameo, so I could always use some sort of firmware-copying-dumping-tool. Anyone know of any?
2) Backing up
-- I need to back everything up to the SD Card, I guess. There's enough space on my sd card to take all programs + info + etc - so can anyone recommend a _free_ application?

Thanks in advance.

Alex.

I am also desperately looking for t-mobile ameo Rom wm5 to reverse my upgrade. I would be very greatful if you or someone can help finding original T-mobile shipped Rom. I would be greatful to that mate. Adnan

If Your keyboard has water damage then you are FUbar'd anyway since this instantly invalidates your warranty. As such you might as well use PKs black dual rom and stick with the fingertouch keyboard. The repair shop will take the keyboard apart and return you some pretty pictures of your water-soaked tapping-pad with little yellow arrows to highlight the water spots.
You have absolutely no hope of pleading with them trust me.

If you have separate insurance cover against accidental damage then the ROM you have on your phone is irrelevant and won't affect your claim, since this is different to a manufacturer's warranty.

If you don't have accidental damage cover and your friend does then....actually I can't recommend that.......

If all else fails, you could buy a new keyboard:

(from another thread here)

Pricey, but cheaper than a new X7500.
