Thanks boy! Just flashed the rom and still testing it. I've installed PocketCM and PCMKeyboard and they are working great. However, I tried installing Voice Command 1.6 from XDA-R4 thread, it works great. Except for when I bind the to button4(hold) and if I hold the button too long, voice command just cancels and not take command.

I flashed back to original ROM and then flashed this, if that is what you mean. Do I just need to flash the original ROM or do I need to go through all the motions of setting it up and the extended ROM, or can I just flash the OG then the new without setting up the OG ROM?

With regards to drivers in this ROM have you used the original 5.2.318 drivers? Is the RILGSM.DLL driver the 5.2.318 one that allows the VoIP audio to be routed to the speakers? This is one of the main reasons I am currently using it's right's 5.2.1933 base since he manged to get the VoIP working as it did in the original 5.2.318 ROM.
Grasping at straws here but is SDHC supported in this ROM?

What I sad is, if your phone is ringing and you decided not to pick up, after that there is no notification of missed call. The icon with phone shows 0 calls, and this future at least for me was working with other roms.

2 issues with 5.7 that i was wondering if fixed in 5.8

1 is GPRS always on or auto disconnect. if you change the setting after a softreset it will go back to always on

2 is Cannot active sync through bluetooth. It shows my pc as a headset. My GPS and Headset work correctly and i can pair with the pc but it shows it as a headset

Has anyone else seen the above (in case it's just me or something i installed)
If so, is it fixed in 5.8?

Eye on Privacy's password still is "1234", You can HardReset and test again.

Agreed. It will sync on my vista at home with the cable but not at work. Also as stated no sync listed when pairing with bluetooth. Just a headset and sometimes nothing at all.

First of great rom. I only have one problem and that is when i don't hang up a phonecall but rather just let it go it crashes and i have to restart to get it going again. Any suggestions? I did put the cingular oem on before loading this rom and am using 2.25.11 radio rom without the fix. Would the fix take care of it?

Access to Start/Setting/Connection/Network Wizard and Disable Auto Detect.

1, after finish SPB backup and restart - freeze on grey start screen
2, morning iam look on my phone and freeze :-(

Loaded the new Octaivoi ROM last week and very impressed. Played around last night with the OmapClock settings -now my Imate keeps rebooting after selecting a certain CPU clock speed. I can't get into Active Sync or log into my Wizard. Either freezes up or reboots. Any advice? Don't want to brick this phone!!

Hm..i have similar problem since 5.6 version..

just at Once...i can't find reason, my phone reset "himself":)...and than stops in Windows mobil6 screen, ...nothing more..

I tried to pull batt out, SD card, reset in SUB mode..nothing...

I also tried hard reset few times..

All I can do is new rom "upgrade". And i did it last nihgt and for now everything works fine ...until next time..:(

Is this rom safe for g4?? cause extended rom (net cf, etc)

I dont know what exactly means extended rom?!?!

btw 5.8 is super rom. Problem is only with wifi( i add the link to the wifi settings on 7th page, i think) and the memory leaking problem.
Dont know if to flash to 5.9. I need some comments from users.

You just need ruu (rom update utility) by mun - update tool. Its special one. All roms will flash on your g4 with hardspl with these RUU.

rom works fine I like the set up. Only thing I am still working on is getting ti wifi to work even after the fix on here I found. I might just upgrade to 5.9 and call it a day if that has the fix built in.

I take it you have bluetooth active sync issues also. Doe it even show active sync as a service? Mine is showing headset. This is on Vista.

I tested the reg entries 3times to make sure everything working fine before posting here. But some resaon its working fine on my end. Steps I am taking to setup bluetooth activesync are as follow:
1) In activesync...click connect via bluetooth
2) setup fresh bluetooth partnership

and you are right ..if I am trying to use existing pairing .....its not taking it for some reason.

You just need ruu (rom update utility) by mun - update tool. Its special one. All roms will flash on your g4 with hardspl with these RUU.

Few questions.

Ok I did a hard reset, wich put my device back to the orig rom (before I changed CPU speed) and it runs fine now. I would not advise anyone to speed the CPU to the 277 range it becomes upstable at that point.

in a power manager, if i check "power off device if not use for 2 minuts" after 2 minuts the display become black. If i push power button the light the display become on. But, i don't use the device for 10 or 15 minuts when i push power button don't pla nothing, and if i try to call me the devic result off!

For any applications that you seem to have problems with,
Try setting the Clock speed on them manually.
I have noticed, Phone, camera, wifi etc, do not like overclocking very much and become hit and miss. When the clock is set to 195Mhz, they work without issue.
Several discussions have also stated this (see Cingular missed call thread).
I have no missed calls, or messages and all the apps work great (even the Sirius radio app) if not overclocked.
As soon as I turn up the speed, it stops working (cannot connet through Activesync or Wifi)

I see this problem.
You access to ControlPanel/Connection tab. If show Item Network Card is wifi not work. If show Item Wifi is Wifi good work.
How to resole this problem. Access to "Advanced Tool" in System tab, uncheck "... Extended ROM" and softreset.

I too am thankful for all the hard work being put into creating Roms and Kitchens.
These people do not have to share or create updates, but they do.
Very often the cooks get overlooked for compliments, and just get lots of complaints.
I have been testing 6.0 and love it.
If you want a kitchen for it, extract it yourself. you have been provided with counless tools to do it including Hypercore Kitchen (by far one of the easiest to work with).
Boy, you have my thanks for your dedication, and keep up the good work.

I am having problems with the Rom not fefaulting to a hidden wifi network when Wifi is enabled. We have a 20 something character Key and the Wizard looks for un encrypted networks and tries to connect.
Anyone else have this issue?

Bluetooth Activesync working perfectly now at work with version 6.0 Woot!

the Gprs stay on always won't change to 5 min disconnect easily. Took me 4 tries and 3 softresets as it was stubburn. Same with deleting smarkskey which i don't use.

Everything else though seems fine. Great rom!

The calculator in 6.0 is missing the black skin that was present in 5.9. wifi works perfect on this rom. everything else is good so far. I'll post something if I find anything.

Just like the title says, i'm impress with Octaivoi 6.0 speed and stabilty is very impressive, and I have had the wizard since it came out. This must be the best rom I install so far for wm6. Multi-tasking with 6.0 was awesome, and the speed is just amazing and I have the new kraiser so it takes more to impress me but this rom really brings back what the wizard can do. I was typing a thread and chatting on msn live, making a office word doc on my wizard all at once and the speed is still fast, amazing. Thou, I use the omapclock set at 264. Even with the HTC home plugin, which I always thought slows down the OS slot, but doesn't seem to be the case with this rom. Switching appz and running multi-task seems to work great with this one. Thank you very much. I"m a happy camper.

The one included in the rom isn't the wktasks. It's a battery status or something like that.

You can however enable the other one through wktasks which is also in this rom.

Tried disabling it in wktask, but from the looks of it there are two bars running on top of each other, the one started by wktask and the one that is in the startup folder. Disabled wktask one and deleted the .lnk in startup and no more "white dotted lines" on top ;-)

Love this rom. When you release your new one though can you release a verson without htc home and touch flow? I am no using the new pointui and would like the xtra space / memory. Also the grps alway on program as a seperate install as it likes to fight with you when you want it to disconnect after 5 min.

Just a suggestion for the next. The current rom runs fine and i have touchflow and htc home disabled.

just at Once...i can't find reason, my phone reset "himself"...and than stops in Windows mobil6 screen, ...nothing more..

I tried to pull batt out, SD card, reset in SUB mode..nothing...

I also tried hard reset few times..

All I can do is new rom "upgrade". And i did it last nihgt and for now everything works fine ...until next time..

Advising HTC Wizard/MDA users to also install the ROM from your IPL/SPL 3.08 link is WRONG! Unfortunately, I did not note until after trying to install all three (2.61 which went great, then IPL/SPL 3.08 - which you incorrectly called "radio 3.08" - which bricked my T-Mobile MDA (US)) THAT YOU YOURSELF DO NOT HAVE THE IPL/SPL 3.08 ROM INSTALLED according to your self-description of your device.

I got the bootloader screen after the first flash of IPL/SPL 3.08, reflashed x1 and now have a dead device ... have tried 3 different new batteries.

First consideration is that 3.08 is an IPL/SPL only. You can find variations which is all in the same package: GSM RADIO + IPL/SPL. If it's the case, then you probably will get 2.19.11 UK radio. Otherwise, only 3.08 as an IPL/SPL.

Should I be able to install V6.0 using SoftSPL, or does it require that I use HardSPL? I am getting freeze up at 85%, doesn't solve to go to boot loader - seems to complete, but then my old ROM (T-Mobile update) is still there -didn't install.

Great rom!!

Except I have a problem with bluetooth and calling with my bluetooth carkit.

I can connect to my bluetooth carkit and I can call except the person on the other side of the line can hear me but I cannot hear the person. So the sound is not coming in. When I start TomTom and so my bluetooth GPS is connected I can call everyone and the sound is perfect, outgoing as well as incoming.

I really does not want to start TT with my bluetooth GPS everytime when I want to use my bluetooth carkit.

What might be the problem here?

I found the same and have happily disabled the top white battery bar. I allowed WTask to put the battery icon in the upper bar which works fine as an icon only. Thanks for the great ROM Boy!

I am new to this. Just bricked my first device - see entry 189 and related .... Apology accepted from Commander5555. I guess I learned my lesson to seek confirmation from a second source before proceeding with "new advice" eh ...

But happily had a spare. You ROM 6 is the fastest, most stable. Only one that runs TouchFlo and Cube without SMOOTH look and feel on my devices!

I need to upgrade my radio and running into issues. At 2.25 and ready for 2.61. Will try MUN RUU version - is it OK to do so from bootloader window?

Some claim 3.08 helps make the phone faster on booting. Thats the only benefit I've ever heard. In all my time with the Wizard, I've never upgraded to IPL/SPL 3.08 and just stayed at 2.26. Saw no reason to upgrade, and there have been reports that some G3's that have went up to 3.08 couldn't go back down to the button ROM (SPL wouldn't change). I'm old fashioned, but with all the success of IPL/SPL 2.26, and no real known benefits to 3.08, I saw no reason to upgrade to it.

BTW: the other phone may be able to be saved with a JTAG recovery. I've never done this, but there are reports in the Wizard forum (and Wizard Upgrading) of people with bricked devices resurrecting them by doing JTAG (which is a hardware jump start basically).

Can anyone comment on the Advanced Configuration Tool V1.1 Schap's 2007, included in OCTAIVOI 6.0 Rom. The Miscellaneous (Misc) tab has options to "Show Extended ROM" and "Unlock Extended ROM".

When I check these, I cannot detect that the ACT v1.1 actually changes anything on my device. I can use the Windows Service Tool V 4.2.1 by Mestrini to actually make the extended ROM visible. I can also format the extended ROM from WST 4.2.1. On my T-Mobile MDA running Octaivoi V6 the ExtRom is then displayed as Extended_ROM2 in the root directory of my device. I can write some, but not all files to the Extended_ROM2 directory, but cannot then delete them - only by using WST to format the ExtRom again. So, it appears that the Extended ROM is not truly unlocked.

I was hoping to regain the extra 9-10 Mb for program installation (not just CAB storage). Anybody else tried this, or found a solution to truly/fully unlock the Extended ROM region on the HTC Wizard? If so please post and PM me. May also send direct to drmulligan@aol.com if you don't mind.

I am afraid my MDA/Wizard is indeed bricked. Tried all the fancy button/Soft Reset tricks after leaving battery out for 1 full day - no go. The JTAG issue appears WAY too technical for me ... unless there is a competent person in Denver, Colorado to go to?

I also read something about simply replacing the chip (soldering on new one from another busted phone) - but I don't really have access to that either. What is a fair price to sell this brick?

Do I tell the willing buyer simply that it has improper IPL/SPL codes flashed, or that the motherboard is actually now BAD?

that's my first post here, i found this forum 2 days ago. i've never reinstall a rom, till 2 days ago. this forum is fantastic, in 4 hours an could learn all about, and install the octaivoi's rom on my G4 wizard. i installed other first, but i didn't like it.

About this rom, its look great, fast e beautiful. It's just one think that i can't modify: the time there is only AM or PM? here in portugal we use more 24h mode.

I wonder if someone can help me!

you want a 24 hour clock? check start > settings > system (tab at bottom) > regional settings > time (tab at bottom) > Time Style Set to H:mm:ss or HH:mm:ss for 24 hour clock.

ColdSpirit, a think this rom is fantastic, it's fast (faster than original rom wm5) and stable in my G4 winzard.

Also, by looking in your overclocking size, I'd suggest you to use 273 maximum cause overclocking beyond this point normally turns your device unstable.

Thanks for the reply epimazzo. I tried your method but the update utility does not detect the device when activesync is closed or shut down. As for the overclock, I have found 286 mhz to be the highest I could go without risking stability.

I took out my 4GB mini sd out and was able to put it into bootloader mode by holding down the camera button trick. weird thing is, i wanted to see if the card was the cause of the problem and so I stuck it back in and I tried the update utility again with the card in and it worked. I have no idea why my phone was acting up for the brief few days. oh well, all good now. Thanks for the help. :D

Sometimes all steps are simple, sometimes not. At this time, what really matters is to bring our techtoy to live again and we don't care how!:D
I've seen too many ways of getting our devices operational again after a "fake" brick state and believe me....there's no miracle!:p

This is not just the extended rom. It is a complete rom. Activesync works fine with it with no problems at all. It does not include IPL/SPL and so its safe for G3 and G4 devices. I'm using v6.0 and i have no complaints so far except for a small bootloader problem that magically resolved itself. Enjoy.

You actually don't need this specific Kitchen ROM's tutorial for Octaivoi's series. Most ROMs here are cooked using the same principle and tools. Concept is always the same thing. So, I suggest you look for TheLoon's kitchen tutorial which is nice and easy to understand. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=345642

You can also start doing some digging in the Wiki session which I confess is being a really great start point for new Cookers.

A RUss741 word: Go to the WiKi and read Faria's tutorial on building ROMs, I think it is also a sticky at the top of the Wizard Mobile 6 thread.

In return, here is a little advice of my own: I reviewed your posts, and it seems you're using a 4Gb memory card, right? I think I saw a number of posts that such cards tend to create all sorts of unexpected problems. So, this might be a source of the issues you've experienced.

I am using Octaivoi's 6.0 rom but the today screen is a combination of things. The clock is from HTC home customizer and its called brush stroke and the theme is called nature. I believe i got the theme from somewhere here on xda.

I've installed the ROM today, and here are my initial impressions:
-installs very smoothly, with no problems whatsoever;
-almost everything seems to work properly with very few bugs (see below for some bugs); in fact, I'm not observing even some of the problems other users mention in the forum;
-however, here is one bug I've already noticed: if you go to the menu that allows you to add programs to HTC Today's launcher and then _not_ select anything, then, when you return to the launcher, the device is freezing and has to be reset;
-the ROM is quick when Touchflow is not activated but becomes painfully slow when it is;
-ROM contains some programs that are not even mentioned in its description;
-but I can't find some programs that _are_ mentioned in ROMs description (post 1). Here is what I can't find: TwTask (unless you mean WkTask); NetWizard (unless it runs in the background with no obvious explicit access to it?); MMS 4.2; BiTouch settings (unless it has a different name in menues?); Remote Desktop Mobile; SymbolPad; and Keyboard Set Locale. It is quite possible that those are not programs but features installed; it would be good to know.

Another minor detail: there is a digital clock in the top bar that's not needed since there is a huge clock in the HTC today. So, the clock in the top bar just occupies valuable space. There doesn't seem to be any way to get rid of it: even after I uncheck "show clock in all programs" under settings-clock&alarms, it's still there (!).

Questions: (a) I noticed that some actions reset the list of recent programs (the one under start menu) but I can't figure out which one(s). (b) Is there a built-in utility to add and/or remove programs to/from the lower task bar? If not, does anybody know where to find one?

All in all, it's a great ROM, and almost everything that I really need is built-in. I had to add PocketController, MortPlayer, OneCalc, and Opera. But even after that, there is still plenty of memory left, 24.8M.

I'm sure if you search on here somewhere you can find HTC Home customizer, but here is a direct link to the developers website. This is the latest version of the software (v1.0 BETA 5).

- You will find remote desktop under the connections tab in settings.

- Correct me if I'm wrong, but BiTouch settings are basically the two settings for touchflo rite? if so, they are both under the system tab in settings.

- Symbol pad is part of your keyboard. if you click on the up arrow next to your on-screen keyboard, you will find the symbol pad there.

- Keyboard set locale, i believe, is a registry setting that sets your keyboard to the default language of the device (English, German, etc.)

- MMS 4.2 is the mms composer that is present under the messages

- I'm not sure about twtask but i am thinking its the same as wktask, not fully sure though

I tried to reproduce the bug that you described on my device, but it wouldn't hang up. so far with all the missing software and bug that you are facing, you have have a bad flash. try hard resetting the device and see if it works fine. if not, try reflashing the rom. Hope this helps.

You actually don't need this specific Kitchen ROM's tutorial for Octaivoi's series. Most ROMs here are cooked using the same principle and tools. Concept is always the same thing. So, I suggest you look for TheLoon's kitchen tutorial which is nice and easy to understand. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=345642

You can also start doing some digging in the Wiki session which I confess is being a really great start point for new Cookers.

A RUss741 word: Go to the WiKi and read Faria's tutorial on building ROMs, I think it is also a sticky at the top of the Wizard Mobile 6 thread.

If you do decide to make another version of your ROM, perhaps the active-sync-via-BT bug could be fixed. It seems like what's missing to make it work is an ability to add/specify ports under BT menu.

You have to CID-unlock your device first. Learn how to do it (there are plenty of tutorials) first, and don't do anything until you have understood and learned this issue properly. Otherwise, you're going to kill your device.

This is a superb ROM, haven't come across any bugs yet. To me this is slightly better than the TNT ROMs as Bluetooth ActiveSync works.
