Has anyone had any success installing Voice Command with Chopped & Screwed? I can't seem to get it to work (but am a n00b, so it's probably my fault.)

Has anyone had any success installing Voice Command with Chopped & Screwed? I can't seem to get it to work (but am a n00b, so it's probably my fault.)

I had some problems in general, mainly that it would SOD after the screen timed out. However, that was after installing a bunch of programs. So I HR'd it, went slower in installing my software and after that had no problems.

Specifically with VC I've rarely had issues with it, but that's because I fought with it so long with my 8525!

Steps to make VC work with BT Headset
1. Install VC to the main memory. (I'm using 1.6.17913)
2. Install ZaJules BT Command fix
3. Enable fix, power off, then on.
4. Disable fix, power off, then on.
5. Pair headset.

This worked for me 5 minutes ago!

Is there anyway to disable the 3G video dialer? I'd like to make it 2G and have the option to turn smart dial off.

Wonderful rom. Best out of the 4 I've tried,

Use the Task Man Regedit app

Reg Key change.

'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / Security / Phone / Skin' and change the value of 'Enabled' from 1 to 0.

That will change the Dialer to the Default Windows Mobile 6 dialer. However, if someone knows of a larger button dialer that's still non-video and has smart dial I'd love to hear about it!

p.s. don't thank me, I copied/pasted from a poster responding to me!

yeah i'll do that for now.. it's just a pain in the ass having that ugly smart dial on my dial screen. with smart dialing options, i'd be able to disable it :(

Great ROM.

I have a minor problem.

In my region the 3G signal is very weak. Is there a way to disable the 3G network (the tab in the phone applet seams to be gone)?

Eh? Why did you have to install ZaJules BT Command Fix? I thought something like that was only necessary on the 8525? I never needed it for my 8925. Worked with Dutty's and works great with Custel's 2.1 (both AT&T and non) without the BT Fix.

Just install one thing at a time and you shouldn't have any problems with it.

You v
can try changing your radio to see if that helps, if not you can always use the comm manager button to do it.

If he changes the radio he will have no sound. I know AT&T disables the page I will see if it is stored in their provxml files and report back.

I am sorry.. I know it's a noob question, but what's the difference between:

CUSTEL v2.1

and

AT&T Chopped & Screwed v2.1

Also, just to confirm: the latest AT&T radio (1.27.14.09) can be used with ANY carrier right? (I know it needs AT&T drivers, so the rom itself has to be based on AT&T.)

Thanks..

Thank you --

but I'm using AT&T Tilt (unlocked) with a non-AT&T carrier.. am I considered AT&T user or non-AT&T user? :)

Purely out of curiosity.. why do the roms have to be cooked differently for AT&T and non-AT&T users... Or is just some minor tweaks that are forced by hardware (such as AT&T Tilt keyboard fix)?

Thank you...

They don't need to be made different, I just do it to make it easier for the AT&T users as I use to back with the hermes.

custel hi again.after flashing and testing all your new roms,
i'm running your AT&T Chopped & Screwed Touch v2.1 and till now (15-16 hours) and my friend i'm impressed

perfectly work my friend ,well done :) seems very fast and very stable!!
something i found in this rom,in text messages menu, there isn't any option of delivery notification.only blank space.

just something to informe you about a problem with a series of your roms.

with your PTT roms ,here in greece and under my vendor-cosmote-the sounds don't working in these roms.i cheked (and reflashed the existent radio 1.27.12.17 with 1.27.12.17 because with this radio version we have not any sound problem) but the problem with sounds was there again.and the fanny thing is that in kaiser is a problem with the newst radio not with this....

i checked the device information after flashing the PTT roms and the radio was 1.27.12.17...but no sounds in my kaizer..
i don't now if there is any bud flash, with your PTT roms, but with the new acu and new radio 1.27.14.09, in AT&T Chopped & Screwed Touch v2.1,for first time, the sounds in my kaizer are ok!
theese for now :)

keep up the good work!! you have new funs ....

This is because all variants of the v2.x series require the 1.27.14.09. Since you aren't in the US on AT&T I would recommend running CUSTEL v2.1 because the AT&T Chopped & Screwed variants are made sepcifically for AT&T users.

Great ROM.

I have a minor problem.

In my region the 3G signal is very weak. Is there a way to disable the 3G network (the tab in the phone applet seams to be gone)?

You can try this 10 button comm manager, although the Internet Sharing button seems to load the Wireless Modem instead of Internet Sharing. To turn 3G off, just click the 3G button. One of the reasons I like this comm manager. Anyone have a similar comm manager that has BT, WLAN, Beam, Data, Internet Sharing, & 3G? Those are my important ones...

Jelly - Are you saying that you can launch VC from your headset, no additional tweaks or registry mods? Mine doesn't and I think what ZaJules does is when you DISABLE it it adds back the registry line needed. So you don't actually need his mod, you need what his mod does when you disable it. AFAIK...

It's not a bug, AT&T disables it by default in their ROMs, I will look for the source later today.

As a Noobie, (and after much reading) I gathered up the courage to try flashing this ROM (after installing Hard-SPL). All I can say is WOW. Coming from a Palm platform, I was looking for something more intuitive for simple tasks and the cube works for me (might not be for everyone).

The new radio's clarity is superb! Much better than 1.27.12.11.
My AT&T settings worked out of the box. (also installed Custel's Java, Sim and Touchfix cabs). I installed the non-PTT AT&T 2.1 and was ecstatic to find that PTT button already re-configured to voice record. That was a huge plus!

The only items I'm missing seem to be
1) Cingular video (don't really use and there is a .cab for this on Dutty's cab page;
2)A battery meter? Is there a plug in to put this on the today screen?
3) Sprite Backup - any cabs to replace this or do I need to repurchase a backup system?

Last - are there any other cabs that I should add on as "necessary?" Windows Live?, etc.?

Thanks Custel - donation coming your way soon.

I like this one for a battery meter ... works great (though note that you may have to use Kaiser Tweak to ensure the battery meter shows in the top bar). First install sdkcerts, then the battery meter file.

Hmm, was thrilled with it last night and this morning, but having SEVERE SOD problems. As soon as it goes to sleep, it won't wake up without a SR.

Any ideas as to how to monitor it to see what's causing it? I'm guessing a possible memory leak or something? Previously I've only had this problem after leaving Live Search running and the device going to sleep. However, it's not running right now. Currently shows 53MB free Program Memory.

Actually, I got it working last night after a hard reset and installing it first. For me, bluetooth works without any fix as well, long press on the button. Though, I'd never used Voice Command before (Voice Signal on an i730) and I'm not sure what makes it so special. (Of course it's a lot better then the installed software on the original ROM.)

Anyway, take that for what it's worth.

Well, since no one had thought, I did a HR, and now my phone does ring .. so clearly I messed something up (it is not a ROM issue). I will now re-install my apps and try to figure out which one craps out the ringer.

Good point -- I never really focussed on it, but now that you mention it, I just checked and my battery is at 82%, and the meter says 90%. Yuck. I think it drops only by 10% increments ... so anywhere in the 90s reads 100%, anywhere in the 80's reads 90%, etc.

I too am getting the SOD now, I installed your radio first, then att chopped and screwed - non ptt - non touch

I installed:

Resco
Schaps Advanced Config 1.1
ATT Mobi TV
HTC X-Button 1.5
TCPMP v0.72RC1
Tilt Keyboard Fix
HTC Home (with the HTC Home Customizer folder on my sd card)
CUSTEL Mobile Crack

After some extensive testing and trouble shooting, SOD only occurs when I am in Pictures and Videoes and have a full screen image up (this also occurs using resco picture viewer in full screen). I can press the button for standby myself and it will sod or i can let it go into standby by itself and it will sod.

I will report back if I find any other apps that cause it.

Also a side note, since I am also using the htc home customizer, I will hard reset in a few and see if it gives me sod without htc home or the customizer installed.

which version of HTC Home are folks using? I am running v2.1.1005.722 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327646), however I have some weird glitch that forces me to open settings/today after each SR to get the plugin to show. Simply opening and closing the today app seems to do the trick, otherwise it will not show. Go figure.

Hey man great ROM! I got a great deal on a Tilt from At&t that I just couldn't pass up ($100+2 year extension, no rebates). So now my dad's going to get his 8125 replaced with my 8525 :-)

I'm enjoying the ROM and looking forward to what you guys are able to eek out of this device.

As others have mentioned, is .NET3.5 coming?

Thanks man, and I guess that Imate 9502 Ultimate is just going to have to wait a little longer now ;-)

Sorry -- one more thing to double check.. The AT&T Chopped & Screwed version is for people on AT&T USA carrier network only?

Or is it for everyone with AT&T Tilt phone, even if they switched to another carrier?

I do get tired of people not reading the threads... but I'll answer that one.

The AT&T Chopped and Screwed is, as the name implies, only for AT&T people. Use the Custel 2.1 (you know, the one WITHOUT AT&T in the title) for anything else.

Huh -- well I am running the non-touch variant, so I had to install my own. Maybe it is an issue with v2.1 (I see Custel is using v 2.0). Anyone using v2.1 successfully on this ROM?

Ah,sorry, I misinterpreted that :o It may be an issue of that variant conflicting with the drivers in the aku 0.4.4 rom. I know that .net v3.5 conflicts with it when trying to cook it in.

I've concluded that all SOD issues come from HTC Home Customizer.

If anyone does not have this installed and still gets SOD, please post.

I've concluded that all SOD issues come from HTC Home Customizer.

If anyone does not have this installed and still gets SOD, please post.

I just installed HTC Customizer 1.0B5 today (however, I always install it on the device and not on my SD card for this particular reason), so I'll let you know if I get any SODs. I haven't had any yet, but what I have been getting is a lot of random lock-ups or freezes. I know there might not be any ROM without 'em, but with this ROM I get them quite often.

So far, I noticed it occuring more when I'm file browsing in Resco, and in quite a few cases whenever I change settings on almost any program for the first time. Strangely, they have gone down in number of occurances and how long it stays frozen right after I had decided to flash XDA Live, so I decided to keep this ROM a little longer (other than the fact there's reports of random lock-ups on that ROM as well, on top of small bugs found).

Is anyone else seeing this as well? Or has everyone gotten inmune to it now? It's been a couple months since I flashed the last ROM I had on my Tilt (Helmi_C Dynamic [0.7.0]), so I may have been out of it for a while, but it almost seems like these ROMs kinda of have to be 'broken into' until they become stable and more responsive. Other than all the above, the ROM (Chopped & Screwed Touch 2.1) is quick and solid otherwise.

Hmm, lockups returned again, even though I didn't run HTC Customizer. It is installed, but hasn't been run. Maybe I'll try uninstalling it...Only good news is that a quick fix is restoring to a previous restore point. What is wierd is that it works fine until it quits - I can't couple the fail point with anything in particular, one minute it's fine, the next it'll fail every time it goes to sleep.

CUSTEL you rom is bad ass, thank you for making it. I absolutely love it. I found a dead link, though, that I was hoping you could fix..

In the Comm Manager, Click settings and then try to go to Wireless LAN. Nothing happens. I tried hard resetting and still, nothing happens.

If you can provide a fix or tell me how to fix it, I'd really appreciate it.

Once again.. thank you for this rom

You can edit the registry to it's original values for the sound scheme.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Snd\Event]
"Curr0"=multi_sz:"alarm2", "", "alarm2", "default", "Empty", "alarm2", "infbeg", "infend", "infend", "", "", "", "alarm2", "infbeg", "infend", "infend", "alarm2", "", "", "voicbeep", "RecEnd"

YUP, just figured that one out as well - I'm currently running Custel 2.1 ATT and couldn't figure out what would trigger it. It happened immediately on the first flash, then I did a HR and it didn't happen for a while. Then it came back a day later, no major changes on my part!

Today I hooked up to my laptop for internet sharing - no connection...grr, ok - turned off Advanced USB features, worked fine. Drove away, phone locked up. Again, couldn't figure out what triggered it - I hadn't done anything!!! Then realized - ahh, I switched off the Advanced Features - turn it back on! VIOLA! No more SOD (so far)! Pretty sure this is it, I can trigger it at will by letting it go to sleep or turning off, as soon as I reenabled the features, no problem.

On my device it does appear to be ROM specific and also a problem with the USB connection - specifically turning off the Advanced Features to enable Async.

I really like this ROM, it is fast! Really fast.. I did have some weird things happen today though which worries me. This afternoon (first time I actually used the phone as a phone) I placed a few calls while driving home and while broken down. It seemed that the phone would hold a call for a little while and then kill the call followed by a brief sound of what appeared to be like strumming guitar strings. I was in my 3G network at the time and it happened many times even after a soft reset. Has anyone else had this happen? I am running the correct radio version. :D

Hey, I just installed the Custel v2.1 AT&T Chopped and Screwed two days ago and all was working well for the most part until my phone just shut off. The phone was charged at 100% and the screen went black and the led turned red then went blank. I installed the radio before the ROM and it was working perfect (fast and stable ROM by the way Custel). I took out the battery and replaced it and still no luck. It was not contaminated with any liquids or anything. I have no idea what went wrong and the worst part is I am in California on vacation and I like in NY. I really really liked 2.1 non touch. Just the missing wifi link annoyed me and it was never addressed and the screen tended to freeze up and become unresponsive a lot more than other roms. I use q-mobile 1.2 and it's a tad slower than custels but it doesn't become unresponsive nearly as much and 2.1 non touch did.

So I assume a new rom 6.0 or 6.1 with these issues addressed would end up being my next perm rom.
