Hello,

the glas of my touchscreen is broken. the touch-screen-foil seems to be ok.
i heard it's possible to take of the foil - replace the glas (since it's a normal glas, that just prevents from funny colors on the TFT when you press on it) - and glue the foil on the new glas.

a lot of people already successfully did this with ipaqs - i've even found manuals in the internet.

but the main difference is: that glas is glued with normal tape in the ipaq.
i disassembled my blue angel. there it's glued with i don't know what - i couldn't manage to get it of the metal frame.

does anybody know, how to do it ?

thank you.

Yes it is possible. I myself had a cracked touchscreen. I got a new one off eBay. They sent me 2 times a wrong touch screen and even the 3rd one was slightly too big, I thought I'd go crazy!!! Well, after 2 months without my beloved BA I got this big touchscreen and I managed to solder it in (although you need some experience) and now it works like a charm.

So - eBay, and courage is all it takes ;) Oh, and about 10£ (15$?)

Well, it's broke anyway, right? Don't be shy. I took a thin, sharp knife (like a carpet knife) and slid the blade right between the glass and the frame. The edges might crumble a bit but once you're in between you can (semi-destructively) separate them. On the lower side of the screen there is a rubber band under the touchscreen, if you're careful enough down there you might have a chance not to cut it, anyway, mine's gone and it didn't matter.

If you want to be very sure, have a vacuum cleaner running next to you, the glass is very fragile and breaks into very small pieces easily.
