Guys just check this new Touch friendly launcher from VITO.

Introduction:
GoodWin is a Windows Mobile launcher and task switcher for Pocket PC. Slide the screen with finger to scroll the list of favorites and running programs, installed applications, and settings – all on one screen! Whenever you turn on your Pocket PC GoodWin displays all necessary information – new sms, email, current time, and missed calls.

Yes this is a good application but, why it isn't a plugin today launcher.
That will be good when we turn on the pocketpc we arrive direclty on the screen with hour and lock.

pro:
- nice interface good scrolling e clear view
- nice the real clock with second even if it could be not so readable in day light (in the "action" menù it should be visible a digital clock or a more readable analogic clock)

con/desiderata:
- too many icon to scroll (all the apps and the settings) may be better if you can minimize the program and the setting list in vertical folders.
- nice interface it would be great if with a 2.0 release, dial, contact and messaging are integrated.
- with trinity and lasagna WM6 3.05 some problem with activesync, dunno if the same with other device/OS.
- does'nt display battery charging and sincronizing
- lack of usefull shortcut (music player, weather, or favorites call number)
- some problem with lanscaper/portrait switching
- no theme selection capabilities
- it could be great if you can choose from vertical or orizzontal kind of scrolling apps and setting (imo the orizzontal scrolling (like a book way) its quite bit more natural)
- check the sms/email/mms behaviour of the interface when system is Locked; When receive an sms or a mail the screen, should be locked even with the notify displayed if you want to interact you should unlock screen.

Has anyone tried to Skin this?
I've located the skin files on the install directory, but had no success.
They are .bmp but I can't seem to open them or edit.

I think this is a great start and hopefully it continues to see updates because right now it works well, but a little more customization and organization would be nice. Having just every single program and setting link roped into one giant long page that takes 3 minutes to scroll down just isn't for me right now. I imagine if a version 2 is released that addresses the ability to organize it better i'd be all over that for 19.99

Also a weather app would be nice!. not sure wether there is one or not but a slide to lock as well as unlock would be great! another thing that would be nice is a bounce back back to the top of the screen after a predefined time five seconds perhaps?

ouch! slows down horribly when running htc audio manager in the background! thats on my vario 2 with four programs in total running (including phone which it wont turn off!?) and with 8 meg of program memory spare and 11meg of storage mem on the phone.

Just have to edit shell.bmp in photoshop (the other bmp file is for the about page) and save it in the same format. fushia color is for the transparency.

Only one default when changing backround to white to grey (for example) there is no icon transparency :( It's so ugly...
May attempt to have official skin :( or a pro :D

I like it, but the lock feature isnt very usefull. When device is put to sleep with the powerbutton... screen is off :D

very cool overall idea, but def some things that can be worked on. need to be able to disable locking thing, if for no other reason than to be able to use S2u2. it seems a bit slow on start up. and being able to make sub directories of your certain apps would be very nice and clean up some of the clutter

on a side note, based on this nice cab im def. going to be keeping an eye out for what looks like their threaded sms app

I think th epoijt of the locking thing is to do the same dunction as S2U2, so you wouldn't need it. Of course, I prefer S2U2 also.

I too have been using this for a few days and absolutely love it, very slick and smooth. For me the lock is one of the main reasons that it works so well.

I was using the Lock Device today plug in, but you have to do it manually where as I like the fact that every time the device is switched off (technically when switched on) it is locked. I have my device set so only the power button is enabled when off, but have still had times when my device woke up while in my pocket (because of a reminder, or received call or sms and then the movement in my pocket started dialing the phone...) This stops that!

Agree with other comments - the lock screen needs to have the option to use today plugins or at least show upcoming appointments.

I also have issues with the battery indicator not being very accurate at all. Also you can lose notifications, if the screen is clicked without acknowledging the notification, the notification popup goes away and the little reminder in the top bar is hidden behind Goodwin.

I would love Goodwin to support the existing menu structure better (i.e. if you have a sub folder under programs, to actually display the folder and not automatcially display all the icons as you just get too many. And to not join all settings icons together but to split them by Personal, System and Connections.

Goodwin should also still allow the use of the Windows key to pop up the windows menu.

I find the profiles useless and would like it to support bringing up third party profile tools. I would also like the time displayed at the top like on the normal start bar.

Apart from all that I think it is great and so far is working well for me.

Any new skins out there for this, I use both sms-chat and fun-contact so it would be great to finally have proper integration between these apps and a shell launcher type app.

I just cant get past that garish white theme though, its awful, hurts yer eyes and makes the icons look even worse. I'd be chucking my 20 sheets at vito with no hesitation if we could let littlerain or greatbal loose on a decent win 7 or diamond skin for it!

Would love to be able to expand and collapse the different panels as well...
