He had heard a story about problems with some memory cards. Usually appearing problems with Cheap defective cards.....
But in this case may be even failure of this wonderful phone....everything is possible, but I am more inclined to a hardware failure of the memory card.

Have you tried to check that card failed in another card reader?
Can detect the card, writes and reads correctly?.

Format card first on the PC (FAT32) with a card reader..
Do you test with some large files, copying and reading files in the card with a card reader on your PC... and testing....

Yes, my memory card works fine in my PC and in my digital camera too. It's a kingston card, I have the trouble only with my W800, when I turn on the phone, format it requires, if I do it I can use the memory card into the PDA without problem, but to turn off the phone and re-ignite asks me that the format again. If you get the data directly from the computer's card reader requires me that the format as well.

The seller said, it can read up to 8gb, but mine just can read up to 1gb. Somebody told me, you have to upgrade the firmware.
I also don't get a notification when I receive an sms, problem not solved so far !!
And the phone switches off if it has a poor signal and I can't get it on unless I remove and install the battery, my solution on this is "lock Device" and it will not switches of so often and I have tried different sim providers and some will work better then the others.
The GPS is working fine only with the external antenna (with tom-tom)
I have read in several forums, that you have to install version 6.032 to choose the build inn receiver, but this is not the case, because I have version 6.032 and this is the same like version 6.030. It may be that somebody tried the mio 3.2, if so.... please tell me if this is working without the external antenna.
I don't have any problems with active sync but the one who has, should try to remove it from the PC and install it again, but don't conect the pda before active sync is installed.

If W800 not start the bootloader, bad thing....
Try the method indicated to load ROM through the card rather than through the cable....But if we do not start the bootloader .... RIP.

I removed the pin, notifying messages works. Stupid thing is that when open the message it says: The contents of this message cannot be displayed. This message is not present in the Sim manager => Lost message(Can't open it).

It was just the battery which made interferences with the phone (not only the bluetooth). I just need to push on it and then to put the cover in a really good position to have no more problem ^^
I still hope to have a WM6 cooked rom for the W800.

No. the hardware is not compatible.
You should only install a WM6 for the Eten G500, in the event that was available.

Hi All,

I've had my W800 for 6 months now and all been fine with it till now.

It seems that when i put it in standby mode it loses its signal as tho it was in flight mode, it cannot recieve calls or texts till i take it out of standby mode. Even then the texts or missed calls i've had while its been in standby mode don't arrive. I've tried the power settings so it dosen't go into sleep mode and it works ok, but with backlight staying on and no locks on the screen or locks on the buttons i can't keep it in my pocket without it pressing buttons it shouldn't, it also drains battery quick with scree backlight permently on. I've tested my sim card in another phone to see if it was sim fault but it tests out ok.

Any help would be appreiciated thanks,

I can see that Win is in English but the settings etc is in Italian.

I don´t get any answer how i can change my language on my Icool W800 so i will try to flash the device with G500 wwe 110 rom.
I have read topics over and over and i have just on question.
I have WM5 in my device and basicly it in in English and there are only some settings and folders in Italian that i can´t read so i want it all in English

I have read in the flashing procedure that i must copy "Temp.dat" and then paste it back when i am doing the full installation. But this is when people are changing the language, i only want the English in the device and the "WWE 110 ROM" is the English ROM.
Am i missing something here ?
Can i flashing it right in without copying the "Temp DAT" when i want English ROM in my phone ?
Hope someone can answer this for me.

This rom is to install normally, copy in your SD card wtih need USBDLLUpdate_console.exe

The rom is very very very very fast and stable

you don't need install the ETEN OEM or other OS working

English version.
I have only one minor bug, is in the bleubooth menu, the police is not compatible in the menu, but's tha's not changing in anyting.

For all rest, no problem.

You pust at some time the three button

Resert with stylet, POWER and the green YES for phone button at same time.

Lose the resert bouton only, you w800 must be white screen and insert in update mode.

Read your screen, (....change to black color, it write 5 lines or more in english)
awaiting restart and istallation, if not, perhaps you must repeat 1 or 2 times the sequence, for me 2 to begin install WM6.1 (awaiting allways a littel moment if he reboot, +-1minute)

Your batterie must be at 50ù minimun, the update time is +- 5 minuts.

Hi there.
I tried with the usbdllUpdate.exe + tem.bin with SD card but it faild all the time.
It says "different USB & OS language" so i tried to change my WM5 Italian rom to WM5 English rom (Eten WWE 110 rom).
And when i start that process it start at once to load from my SD card where i put the "WM6.1 Temp.bin" and it was succesfully installed in my phone.
Now i have a faster OS and in English so i am happy with this.

1) For GPS :in settings phone, the internal and external is the same, (if you not have detect another in bloutoot mode.....) :)
go to settings, in gps module i'm select
GPS PROGRAM PORT : com2
GPS HADWARE PORT : com4 and 9600 baud rate
GPS ACCES : i unable the automatic manage.
I don't know if the AGPS fonction is enabled or no.
Th'as good with, google maps, live search and VISUALGPsce.(internal gps, more fast adquisition)

2) CAMERA WORKS PERFECTLY, attention, in the camera menu screen, look wiev if is not in nitgh wiev or US 50 or 60 MGHZ. (for me at first time):p

This is a good rom, but's it have sometingh bugs in menu with language. Only in the menu, i test all items and no problem.

The OEM ETEM COUSTIMIZE, is not present in the rom, tha's a basic rom.:rolleyes:

If anytingh has the OEM ETEN for this phone can test it wtih WM6.1 :eek:

I buy my W800 in november 2007. After 4 moth more search i think this phone is a good cheap phone, but's i think if never he can update , never can continue with me.

Today we have a change wtih the new rom 6.1.

In Chine, this phone is very used, and more peaploe are work to take more fast and utilitation.

Come and see, that's not the last or ultimate rom.

The chinesse peaploe continues to work for our, and our enjoy.

I think that every electronic apparatus has to its inside a chipset stabilizer of tension.otherwise the eeprom of the telephone break it if the battery voltage is too high or it would stop working if the battery is almost unloaded.a friend has upload in my phone a eten g500+ rom in italian language(perfect for me,i m italian );the phone work normally,the gps work very fast,i send and receive sms.the only problem is that if I extinguish the radio he doesn't relight more and I must remove the battery to restart the radio.

I still can´t get my TT working and my GPRS isn´t working to, maybe that is the problem because it cant download update for the GPS.
My bluetoth is also always on and i cant shut it off because the settings is in Chinese, maybe that is a problem for the GPS to.
If i cant solve this soon i have to go back to WM5 untill this 6.1 is stable.

Your GPRS must be donwload in your operator site.

For GPS, in internal, all program runs, you must await for signal

Now i have tried for several hours and i can´t get my TomTom to work.
It was working perfektly under WM5 but not at all with WM6.1.

the receipt of the calls is always very disturbed, at times on the other side they don't feel me, I cannot put the pin otherwise I don't receive sms.it is a beautiful telephone, unusable.my final suggestion?not buy this telephone!!

I had the same problem so i swtiched to another operator and now is the phone calls fine for me.
I heard that some operators don´t have the old GSM 900/1800 fully build to the citys, they are going for the 3G net.
That was my problem here in Sweden.
About receving SMS, i don´t know if that has been better in WM6.1 wich was the problem with G500 WM5.

i have installed a g500 wm5 rom in italian language.I have tried to change with another wm6 rom but he has given me error language(???) .this bastard phone has too many problems for me. I have bought another china phone,a Daxian 900+ with wi-fi,touch flo and wm6 and it works well indeed.I think that this tw800 I will give it to someone, even to someone which I want badly :D:D

Hi all,
Thank you for help with SMS and sdhc 4gb card. I have this PDA 3 weeks. I am from Czech Republic. I instaled Czech localization for E-TEN G500. It is works great. But I have got problem with IGO8. I download it and instal. But when I run this program i just see some opening frame and after 1 second this aplication terminate. If I try start IGO8 again I see warning: The aplication failed to start last time. Do you want to reset to factory defaults...
Have anybody same problem? Thank you for any help.

I travel a lot an dchange SIM cards for each region; Frequently, when I return to Vietnam I experience this problem
- I have now learnt that the carrier is either the cause of the problem , or can fix it. I go to Mobi ( the carrier I use in VN) and after the usual 20 minutes of denials, they reset my account and the problem goes away (until next time)
I do not know whether this is the same issue - but it is worth looking at. :o

This mobile seems Artemis P800 model or htc P330 model o Dopod W800 or Cect model, but and "Control Panel -System" mark M600 ??¿¿¿ Artemis M600????, the system is a windows mobile 5 english.

In phone -Settings- Services i select "Voice Mail and text messages" and the system returns with "get seetings" the number service center....all ok.

I have access to the SIM system .. SIM contacts, I do voice calls and receive voice calls, gps ok, all ok.. except...

1 found 1 problem: cannot receive SMS!!! with "Messaging Program" (only send ok)

I try this : the sms found (receive) via "SIM manager" program ,but not displayed in INBOX folder Automatically of "Messaging" program. ¿¿¿????

I think it must be a software problem (bad rom update WM5 english) or settings missing in the registry...., Or anything else corruption or fault software.... Sim manager, tmail or another dll

He made hard reset, reset, remove battery, and I installed other SMS readers and sender, but all are based on "tmail" system....

I even installed another mail handler "tmail" independently: "flexmail" and the same, cannot receiving SMS, only send SMS!!!.

Does anyone know how to fix this? (sms inbox cannot receive) .

I searched all over the forum and I have not found anything. Are there other models that will pass something similar?

I have done a ROM DUMP (itsutils pdocread) if someone wants to see.., znd I can also search the registry. Please help.

Hi everyone.
I have trouble with my CECT W800 phone. Fore unknown reason it uses to miss SIM after some time. Just everything goes well but at some point it stops seeing my SIM card and I can't do calls any more. The only thing helps - is to take off battery and put in again. Password for SIM deactivated.
After upgrading to WM6.1 kozhura edition phone works perfect, but the problem with SIM card remains.
Did anybody experience something like this? Any solutions?

Hi, i have read all post but it's untill confusing for me.
The good rom for recevied SMS is the like as the G500+. or you have just an application for do work the SMS.
With my W800 TOMTOM work perfectly.

FM radio was enabled in 97 firmware, so maybe older 96 will help to fix the problem.

just been to totobay.com and looked up the w800 (advertised on their site as a Zhi Zun Bao w800). I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but there is also the w800i which is identical apart from having windows mobile 6.1 already installed on it...

if we can get our hands on this rom then maybe some of the still unsolved problems might be resolved?!

anyways just thought i'd let ya's know!

i just installed TomTom 6 and had to set up the reciever, the settings I used (that work) are:

Reciever = "Other NMEA GPS Reciever"
GPS Baud Rate = 9600
GPS is Connected to = S2410 IRDA2410

See if that is how urs is set up!

Demon -> what file is that ur downloading?, i'd really suggest you download and install the Kozhura ediation 6.1ROM - works great on my w800, and some people say it even makes their device faster, although my GPS seems to take a little longer to find a signal, but not by much. I had a problem with my device restarting itself, but now all is good with Kozhura!

question for anyone with this phone... does anybody else get "feedback" while on a call? during a call myself and the caller can hear a type of whine or interference and it is really annoying...

if anyone has experienced this or has a fix then please let me know!

also, what gps Baud rate do you use? after changing to Kozhura edition ROM my gps isnt as fast to find satellites, and i was wondering if a change in Baud does anything? i am currently using a baud of 9600...

Hello, i got this Zhi Zun Bao W800i PDA from Totobay Cina, it work fine but i guess it have a bug in the Rom becouse if i make a soft reset don't recognize the Sim card becouse it go in fly mode till i take out the battery and put it in again, then it work again, and part of the option it's in spanish instead Italian as it must to be, also the guida it's in Spanish language and some other menu the Rom version of this pc pcoket it's this one:

Okay here is a tutorial on how to upload the ROM... it has been covered before but i'll do it one last time. Before i had uploaded the Kozhura Rom i had never done it before so it shows you how easy it is!

1. Download the "Upload.zip" file from here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400959 (AT BOTTOM OF PAGE ONE)

2. Unzip all files from "Upload.zip" and the Kozhura ROM file into a new folder.

3. Rename the Kozhura ROM file to temp.dat

4. Connect your phone via USB to your computer, also take out your memory stick before you do this. Wait for active sync to fully connect.

5. Once everything is connected, run the program upgrade.bat

6. The update will start running by itself, it may ask you some simple questions so just do what it says.

7. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PHONE DURING THIS PROCESS UNLESS IT EXPRESSLY TELLS YOU TO!

8. Wait for the ROM to be completely written to your phone (About 10 mins)

9. Phone should restart with the new G500 screen and Kozhura at the bottom.

Note: you will probably have to soft reset and remove the battery so that the GPRS starts working again!

Hi all,

I have just purchased one of these phones running WM6.1. Overall I am fairly happy with this phone, considering how cheap it was. I am having trouble getting the Wifi to work. I open the wireless manager and the wireless service has a cross on it and when you select it to turn it on, it loads for a few seconds and doesn't turn on. I have tried setting IP addresses manually which has no effect as I believe the wireless adaptor is disabled. I have managed to get pretty much everything else to work on the phone except this wifi.

Any idea's on what may fix this issue. I have been searching for 2 days now and have come up with nothing.

the w800 does not have WiFi, the Wifi setting is built in to the wm6.1 software, but there is no hardware on the phone...

if whoever you bought it off told you it has WiFi then i would have a go at them for talkin shit!

okay so i'm assuming that you uploaded the ROM via SDMMC, as you say you can't do it again cos i won't recognise it???

if you did do it via SDMMC, then try it via USB with SDMMC removed. i have read of various problems with SDMMC upgrades, so try it via USB and see how you go

Hi I also bought a W800 and are having problems like having to take the battery out after a soft reset, the main problem I have is when I want to call sometimes error message comes up about short cut also the volume bars displays and other start up. it does it worse when the blue tooth is on. What does work is the GPS and the os mapping programme I have also the bluetooth with external GPS SMS works fine too, has windows mobile 6.1 can anyone help as I dont realy know a lot about this thanking you

I have a one-year-old W800. WM5 French. It worked decently until last week. Now, it doesn’t boot, i.e. it is stuck in the yellow "Windows Mobile W800 Intelligence everywhere" logo. I removed the battery and put it again, still nothing.

I did "hard reset", but is it not help me.
