No notification of new text msg while on phone with vibrate on

I do not get any type of notification of any new text msg while I am on the phone and the vibrate function is turned on, any way around this?

Have you looked at your Sounds & Notifications settings to see if the "Vibrate when ringer switch off" is checked for Messaging.

Yes it is checked. Can anyone tell me if they are experiencing the same thing or if it just me?
