Here's a cooked XV6800 ROM for VZW

Here is a Verizon ROM cooked by me.

OEM taken from official ROM 2.09.605.8 (vzw).
Drivers are from officlal ROM 2.17.651.0 (sprint). BT drivers are from Sprint Vogue.
The bluetooth sound, alarm, and keyboard issues that may be present in the stock vzw rom should be resolved.

Newer WM6 OS:
CE OS 5.2.1622 Build 18128.0.4.4

Added Windows Live and a few of my reg tweaks
Removed Autoupdate, SQM
Changed to 5mb pagepool
Will not automatically run extrom
~26mb free at boot (after a min)

OS only. This ROM will not upgrade your radio.
Radio 1.40.00 (http://rapidshare.com/files/66766986/titan_1.40_radio.exe.html) may be used to upgrade separately.

You must install Hard-SPL (unlocker) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332381) before flashing this ROM.

I threw this together in free time. I will not support it, I will not update it, I will maybe never look at this thread again. I hope it works well and you like it...if not build one with a kitchen!

probably that the xip/kernel (CE OS 5.2.1933) is not matched to the appropriate SYS files (Build 18533.0.7.0)

no problem. you just have to search alot :) this is a rom made specifically for your verizon XV6800 device. any titan rom should work, but this is verizon's ROM, with its OS version upgraded. you should be able to install radio 1.40.00 as well.

I did'nt flash for a custom yet waiting for an official kitchen, 'cause this Rom work very fine altough for B-T freezing issue. It's the only reason why i had to soft reset in 6 month never crash for memorie over-use. So If an easy way to fix (change) the blue-tooth driver in the stock ROM, already existe. It's a good way to wait for an official kitchen....

Is it not different signals for my carrier with radio driver? Have Verizon improve their radio driver compared to the sprint mogul anyway? I'm so confused...

What are the benefits of dropping my VZW radio for this 1.40.00 radio driver? Is it really safe to use on a VZW phone?

radio 1.40 is safe to use. its just newer. i believe we first saw it with the 2.14 ROM. verizons XV6800 came with 2.09. its up to you whether you want to flash the radio. all htc titan devices are cdma and use the same cdma radio, 1.40.00 is a software version for the radio.

Oh I see, that's a pity. I wonder, there is no way to get this Transcriber out of my own device for to have hadwriting recognition? That would be ideal, I think. If not, that is good too. Well, thanks for the explaination... No want any but transcriber haha

This is the first time I've used any custom ROMs, so please forgive the ignorance. I unlocked my xv6800 and flashed with Radio 1.40, and everything worked great. Now, however, when I try to make a phone call, I get a verizon msg saying that they cannot authenticate my phone. My SPL is still unlocked--is that the problem? I reprogrammed the phone, and it notices that the SPL is unlocked. If that is indeed my problem, how do I lock it again?

Call verizon and tell them u hard reset and now your device cannot authenticate.

Well, it took 3 levels of customer support at Verizon before I got to the one who could help, but they fixed the problem. Now, Radio 1.40 is on and working. Thanks!!!!:D

I actually installed 1.47 because at the time I was trying to download rapdshare was having machine problems.

Haven't seen any negative effects as of yet from this.

I was hoping the upgraded radio would fix the BT issues I have with my car's integrated BT. It didn't :(

I suppose the cooked ROM has an upgrade BT stack? Just wondering if anyone has tried it and if their BT issues disappeared?

1.40 is prefered I am using 1.47 though and have not noticed any negative issues I do however now get service in the bathroom at my store.. (my one safe haven from idiots) :(

dcd, I have run your rom for a few days now.

There is a little trouble so I think it maybe bugged.

When one install application by asukal (he is famous JP localizer) LetsJapanNo06 everything is OK but if then install IME 31 J QVGA for to input Japanese... system is stuck to roma-ji mode, so no can change input mode. If uninstall IME make do hard reset b/c it is no more default IME so cant make boot up from soft reset.

Next is a little trouble b/c if that IME is stuck in roma-ji, cannot use TEGAKI input method. This is Japanese handwriting recognition. It is important for to draw kanji on the screen, so some kanji is more easier to draw than to type out. (Kanji is chinese characters in japanese languages)

So, if you want to look into it I wish you good luck.

Actually for the unlocker i have total commander on my ppc. It is asking me were to unzip the file. Does anyone know were to uzip it. I just unzipped it and got a .NET CF Initialization Error. Any Ideas?

One thing I have noticed, and it doesn't happen every time, is that when I am on a call, if I get a text in the middle of the call, the call will be disconnected. I have never seen nor heard of this.

Question:

I am trying to stream video over the web using Webguide as a front end. With this rom I get an error when media player opens "The specified module could not be found". On the stock ROM I had no issues, nor did I with my 6700. It also streams fine to a PC so I know it is not a front end issue, but not my PPC.

i redid it with the transcriber included and used a carrier-released rom (kaiser) as base rather than a custom, ported OS from elsewhere like i originally used for aku7.

May I make request? Please will you try install asukal LetsJapanNo6 and IME31JQVGA and see maybe you find whats wrong with TEGAKI input on this build? I am not able to use any ROM if TEGAKI can't work... 2.09 stock VZW TEGAKI can work, but 2.09 is unstable :(

Then you will see.. no can work -> TEGAKI.
Some ROM is ok... 2.09 VZW stock is ok TEGAKI, but no dcd VZW 2.17

I have the same issue. Mail Sync and Contacts Sync works fine, but my appointments aren't there.

I have run into this problem with other devices and syncing of contacts. My solution was go into options and remove the checkbox from the offending item and sync. Then go back into options readd the checkbox and sync. This solved the problems I was having.

I tried that--no luck. I was able to set up the sync via PC instead of over-the-air. I will switch back and see if that works.

Ive tried that with no luck. I also deleted the partnership, sync w/o calendar and then tried to sync w/calendar...still no luck. I have been able to sync my calendar with DCDs vzw modded kitchen w/o problems. I liked this rom because of the compactness.

Found it. Ok. Disable syning with ur calendar. wait for it to sync. and reactivate it. Worked for me

Got it working great on my XV6800. Kind of freaked me out after the Titan Unlock. I thought I just made it a brick. Then put on the new ROM and the Radio ROM and it works great. I did call the *228 then option 1 to program it and the called *228 option 2 to get it to consider this home or what ever option 2 does. Now going for the Cube interface on top of this. Thanks again for the ROM. Keep cooking great stuff.
