Or does anyone already have WM6 rom for this device ?

It's become a pda now, and i search for phone and bluetooth roms updates...

The procedure is simple...
1. Format a memory card (micro sd) using FAT 16, use a card of 512 mb or less and atleast 64 mb since JAMA duznt support 1 Gb cards....

3. Remove the simcard, insert the memory card back and then insert the battery

4. It will automatically upgrade, it will take sometime so relax

MAKE SURE TO BACKUP ANY IMPORTANT DATA!

and yes wm6 works and feels far better than the preinstalled wm5 so go ahead!

Hi. The link works fine but the described upgrade procedure does not work on my imate jama. the device simply hangs on the blue imate screen at startup, whenever an microsd is in there, whether its 512MB or 2GB, whether the update files on there or not, no difference. it just displays the number

and there it hangs and nothing happens untill the battery is removed.

Is there any other way to upgrade the ROM ? i have tried google, but only found this page, the deleted imate support forums (thank you imate for your non-support) and some hongkong forums but i dont understand chinese :(

There is a program called DNW.exe ( http://rapidshare.com/files/202076927/DNW.rar.html ) which i used as described on the chinese website,
but using the bootload.nb0 and FLASH.bin from JAMA_8050_WWE_RUS_WM6.rar (i didnt try the images on the chinese website, i guess they are chinese only). That worked fine up to the line saying "Update OS..." there it hanged and after quite a while i removed the battery and inserted the microsd, reinserted the battery and the boot screen (which displayed a different number now) came up... Checking version ... now the upgrade proceeded as expected and i end up with WM6 :D

I have the rom and I tried to format the microsd copy the files and put the battery back but it hangs on the blue screen. I tried to follow instructions using DNW.exe but it doesn't connect with the pda. Do we have to change the usb address? Please HELPPPP!

Dear you repeat ,
remove battry and then keep pressing the vol down button and place battery and when the dnw exe shows usb ok you flash the files again it will be ok

read in google abt hard resetting ur phone.... remove battery,press the volume down button and power off button together,then insert battery while holding the buttons.... wen the led light turns off then ur phone will be hard reseted.....
