hi mate! I can't also see the whole screen page of SRSWOWHD from the beta 3. I haven't flashed to this ROM posted in the first page yet. Im still using the beta 3, it's fast/stable/efficient!! the only thing that I need my unit to be. No fancy 3rd party apps or something. I have tried to uninstall and install SRSWOWHD(the file that I used was from the EXT ROM) but problem still persist. I'll try the other file (the one that has a .dll or something to be replaced in \Windows) later at home and check if I can see the whole page or not.

Just a heads up regarding jigar2speed5095 concern, I don't have that issue with the beta 3. I can completely see all the buttons in the radio.

Other than that, I can say 0.72 is great!! IMHO this is the final WM6 for me :D

The reason you cant see the whole srswowhd page is because you need to resize the Sergoe UI Font, I use SKTools v4, then under, TuneUp->Fonts, select Sergoe UI for all fonts, set system to Bold and resize system Font to 860 (also be sure to set clear type)......Alternatively uninstall Sergoe UI:)

hi all

i am using this rom without any problem so far...its wonderful and simple...

the appearance and all is good.

but i need a small advise...how do i get that option of "recognize" in the note pad. before i used to write down entire court sessions and the click recognize and there i was with typed notes from court. but this morning after my session (2 hrs approx...and the battery is still 35%...god bless) i cannot get my notes typed. ppc is a wonderful thing cos it cud recognize my handwriting and then type it while i myself have problems reading what i had written myself.

I have encountered my first hang while using the rom. If i click on the quick menu settings, i get a message stating that Quick menu is not installed and then it hangs the Atom. I had to softreset. I can't see the application exe.

BTW can anyone please let me know, how to set the threshold for tap screen. I was unable to find the touch or threshold folder in registry

Also i want to increase the sound of the sms notification... Is there any registry editing required?

bro i dont really venture into new roms but after reading the entire 20 pages of this thread i did it...i dont know about the 0.7.1(as i am a noob) but there is not such option in this rom posted in the first post by you.

please try to enable it or something or i may have to leave this wonderful rom and revert to my wm5:(

btw i used the ppc to write notes in court for continous 2 hrs today at semi bright screen...still have 48% battery(god bless)

Howeever I have encountered a problem I seem that I can't copy anything from my computer to my storage card and there seems to be over 476meg free when I go 2 memory. Another thing is that I seem to have lost the battery indicator that comes on the today screen how do u get this back can u download it from somewhere.

are you copying over activesync? or via wm5torage? I haven't tried copying from pc via activesync but wm5torage works perfectly. What today screen are you using?

wm5torage works like a removable storage card reader :D just click active then plug it via usb, device will be read as removable storage. Just don't forget to deactivate it once your done or else atom will not read the memory card.

If you are unaware, quick menu is loaded unto /Windows/program files/quickmenu.exe. Just click it and you can easily get a battery icon on task bar without tweaking reg in the quickmenu options. It is much better than wisbar IMHO :) very light and handy app

I havn't used activesync for quite some time in moving files to storage card. I usually do it via wm5torage or memcard reader for faster transfer of files. I'll check it later if I can generate the problem and see what fix I can come up.

click on the icon of the start menu, the one that looks like a windows icon(it's beside the word START).

Quick Menu should launch. Select options

Go to view tab, select (check) Show battery on taskbar

you may then select your desired preference to:
Analog/Percentage/Percentage + Analog/Percentage + Memory/Memory + Analog


If you still can't get the quick menu to launch, i'll post a step by step procedure with screen shots later at home.

try a soft reset. quick menu works fine.
after reset go to /windows/programfiles/quickmenu/quickmenu.exe
then click win logo, quick menu should start and try going to options tab again

hhmm... Weird, i just noticed that my Atom was taking a bit more time to boot then usual, some fiddling and i noticed, that i lost my Extended rom. HardReset didn't work for me. How do i bring it back?

go to settings remove programs to check if unlock extented rom is still there. If not you may have uninstalled it. You need to install unlock extended rom. just use the search button to get the file.

attached is the .cab file to unlock extended ROM. If you didn't touch anything there, every default program that is included in extended ROM should be inside.

soft reset after installing unlock extended rom. You should be able to see extended rom partition. If this was altered in anyway, I suggest you reflash your unit again with this rom.

I just love your ROM's! Thanx for all your hard work mate....and of course the other cookers. I had been using your last version from 10th December and that was fantastic, I did however have some BT issues with my headset on phone calls where the modulation was distorted. I was searching for a fix for that when I came accross your new ROM. Now i have installed that and the BT issue is no more. Just one request, I use the "JIG" ring tone and note that your new ROM has removed it, please could someone upload this ring tone for me so that I do not have to reinstall the old ROM to extract it to my memory card and then go back to this new ROM?

Initially, I notice a great improvement on the battery consumption when I first tried this rom, that is compare to the previous rom I had. But after sometime, installing application here and there, the battery consumption has gotten worst. I've already uninstalled 3 of the last/latest application but still the battery didn't improve. I suspect its the "Advance Config" 2.02.1.0.0 Copyright Schap's 2008. I've uninstalled this as well, because the said applicate does not need to be installed to work. I just back the files before uninstalling. Then after uninstalling I created a shortcut of the main exe for it to work. It's the latest version, btw. I think it updates the registry directly. Will the battery consumption improve with just a few registry tweaks? I wouldn't want to either hard reset or reflash. Kindly advice.

Hi Amitverma, It happen because the bad connection from your internet link, my suggestion just try to download it again, the file you had dowload it's corrupted, the one important thing just down browse anything when you dowloading the file.

updating the registry entry for wifi might help. its under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\State\Hardware then "Wifi". i notice that if the wifi is on, the value is 2 instead of 1. the normal value would be 0=off, 1=on. i'm not sure if it the same with everybody. btw, the/my wifi won't turn on while it is cradled. i hope this helps...

Regarding WM6.1, at the moment there are 3 or 4 WM6.1 roms available, of course I can release a rom, however, it seems pointless as it would be the same build as the others, therefore I may wait until a new build is available. Also it doesnt feel stable or incramental for Atom, whereas 072 is quite solid.

Trying out your new ROM. First of all CONGRATS cos its a great ROM. At last my Bluetooth Car Kit and Headset is working with my Atom! Dunno why it wasnt working with Jiggs ROM!

But today while using the ROM, it suddenly started hanging randomly. This happened as soon as i started Solitaire! After every soft reset, within a few seconds it would hang again. Dunno why this was happening! Working fine after a hard reset.

Bro check out the wiki for atom, then tweak registry....you'll find your answer to the battery indicator....as for the sound when you click on start menu...i do too doesn't have it but when you select something...there's sound...anyway it's fine with me...i like it this way...

It's been almost 2 months and your rom is rock solid stable Homer... :) I had no crash, no hang ups and battery life is excellent on the crappy O2 OEM battery. Thanks for all the hard work mate.

Only one thing that i am having problem with is the media player, WMV files are all slide show.( i know and telling you this again :D)

Regarding WM6.1, at the moment there are 3 or 4 WM6.1 roms available, of course I can release a rom, however, it seems pointless as it would be the same build as the others, therefore I may wait until a new build is available. Also it doesnt feel stable or incramental for Atom, whereas 072 is quite solid.

The idea is to give them a base ROM where they can customize to their liking as if it were an official upgrade.

Unlike the other devices, the Atom does not have the luxury of easy splash screen customization.

It's been a long time with WM6 0.7.2 now, the rom still runs rock solid with atom. Although, video performance problem remains unsolved mistry in this rom, yesterday one of my friend told me that it might be missing the video driver or not perfectly written.
Well if this is true, can you help us with it ??

believe there are some discussion over hacking and dev regarding upgrading using vista. maybe some search and read would find the solution. Sorry mate, I won't be upgrading to vista untill they fix it hehehe

same goes with flashing WM6.1, until it's very stable and it suits my taste *maybe* just maybe i'll upgrade. but for the meantime, im very much happy and contented with my custom AKU0.72 by Homer.

I haven't encountered any problem like yours. Sorry can't generate it nor it was posted before. try to update activesync and see if it helps :) do a soft reset on the unit.

I would say it's not listed on the first page so it's not in the compatible list for this ROM. since this is 3rd party apps, sorry mate can't help yah :) try to find other apps that works the same as mobile shell and check if you use it with this ROM.

I haven't tried any 6.1 ROM yet, so I find your/this ROM the best ever, as of this writing Just recently I've decided to uninstall a couple of unnecessary of today plugin w/c i don't use, using "today pluging uninstaller" from pdagear.net. I remember uninstalling a voip and wireless something. I also uninstalled msn and liver messenger. This is when the problem started; the wireless manager app keeps showing up from time to time. The wireless lan is on in the interface but the icon is not. When I try to relaunch the wireless manager app the wireless lan in not anymore on. Is there a way to prevent the wireless manager from showing up aside from doing a hard reset or reflashing? thanks and more power.

thank you brian_2cool4u for taking time to reply. i found a way and would like to share it to everybody. let me say 1st, that removing those today plugin i don't use, definitely improve the performance. now, back to what i did to get the wifi working, i registered the wireless(netui.dll) via taskmanager(by dotfred). afterwhich, i am now able to turn the wifi on and off :) but i have not gotten any chance to connect it yet, to fully test. thanks again. i'll try to update, once i get chance to connect.

first and foremost let me caution you in changing the registry, it could crash your system.

if you are a risk taker, try changing it to 3, 5 or 8. mine is set to 3, the wifi is on, if set to 8, it is connected. i hope this helps.

i'm terribly sorry dude, but i have _NO_ idea how an ATOM compares to an ATOM LIFE or an ATOM EXEC. If anything, I would have thought the roms work on _all_ atom's and they would differ through ram sizes or hd sizes or the pre-packaged software .. but i've never looked into it. I'm sorry that some people here, like myself, aren't all up knowledgeable about the various models... shees! show some compassion!

It was only when i read the opening bolded header, specifing that it only works on SOME models did i wish to seek clarification and hopefully a nice person might say 'it doesn't work on model XXX because that model doesn't come with wifi, or something'.

it's not confusing mate, I was once bashed by my noob questions here before. Then I asked myself, why are they like that? I just asked a fairly noob question just like yours then I got bashed?

I followed what they have instructed me to do, from there I learned a lot. reading through post and everything. it makes us knowledgeable. Try it mate, it'll just take some time due to the tons of information available. rest asure that your questions are already answered. If the wiki didn't help you or it's not posted it on any forum here at xda-dev. we'll gladly help you

actually brian is right, all answers to those questions regarding rom upgrade are already posted. make sure that when you read it, you understand it. if you are having a problem with those terms, you can search it here.

im also a newbie, when i upgrade the rom of my atom, i read the forum. understand those steps and those issues. so far successfully upgrade my rom and very happy with it. all we need is to read and understand. if it says that it is not for a certain device well it is not. peace.:):):)

Hi bro, been really busy and also not using Atom until now..... yep, changed back from N95 to Atom as I cannot stand the slider anymore. I have ported, cooked and tried all currently available WM6.1 roms but all are not stable, fast or reliable, at least not in our Atom anyway. HTC Diamond looks a good solid unit so it'll be my next PPC, having said that my Atom has been flashed 100's of times and still has no real probs.



Edit.......... Anyone having issues with WM6.1 as I did can try this, reflash with original O2 WM5 rom then install WM6.1, turns out I had a corrupted Hidden Partition, this is an old common problem nothing new just thought I would share the experience. Who knows, it may help YOU.

same here, been bz with work and all. I don't see any big leap in WM6.1 as well, I really like the HTC diamond and gives my second thoughts regarding X1. Im really confused what will my next unit will be :confused: is it diamond or x1?

i did a search on miss align screen. but no where to search.. I upgrade ROM from WM5 to WM6 (XDA ATOM WM6 AKU0.7.2 WWE).. then the screen like shift to the right abit by 3mm.

can anyone advise how to resolve this?

Its up to you, I have alot of bugs to fix in new rom and I dont have alot of time atm, I would suggest to flash the current rom as now I still cannot predict a release.

Hi Homer

I had flashed this ROM for two weeks and I'm very happy that i could used WM6 for my Atom, because it's my first time I do that.
My O2 atom manufacture date is May 2006, so i could only run at ARM4PXA27x, i tried drain battery completely and removed battery and didn't have any screen flicker issue
However I have encountered a problem with battery lifetime. I've read page 14 about battery after hard reset, and you said that :
battery could life for 2-3 days with heavy use, and joncy in page 10 using for 3 days n still have 15% of battery....

My Battery life drained only less than a day. After I uninstall HTC Home + Customizer, Battery Life got better lifetime but not until 2 days (without installing 3rd application)
I have tried a hard reset 2 times and tried flashing again after a week with a full battery (I drain battery completely then charge it overnight)
And my battery lifetime is same as before (cannot lifed until 2 days)

Sorry my English is bad, I'm from Indonesia.

- on the 2nd upload file which is for atom as ive check the version got a poor signal or possible radio version, camera didint work, cant send sms, but no fades even on the start up screen.

Hope this bug will be fix. its a very nice rom Homer, nice job.:)

Wow, sorry guys and girls I cant replicate the problem I honestly dont have it, maybe my upload to Mediafire is corrupted, please check that your Hidden Partition isn't corrupted as this will cause the camera to fail, I shall rebuild and upload the rom again, thanks for the feedback.

Is been a while since my last visit to this thread.
Finally you port the WM6.1, I am waiting for this.

I wondering why some people had problem with camera.
I try to install it, and yes I've got the same problem.
First time I got screen flicker when push the camera button, then I did the soft reset and try the camera again, but this time it freezed.

I check the Hidden Partition but it's works fine. there are no corrupt files inside it.

You still build this ROM using EXEC xip kernel right?
Do you think maybe because some of our device can not fit with EXEC XIP Kernel?
Or maybe because incompatible driver?

DannyIt can become corrupted after several or tens of flashes and un-hidding, on next flash reinstall original WM5 extended rom, or extract its contents and overwrite, my wm6.1 Atom has bugs it is not the Hidden Partition. The same bugs are not present in my Atom Exec rom.

But i also noticed that during installation it did not burn the camera, it just burn the radio and the setup was done with the installation... so i think some thing was missing in the data cab..

I have a new build, camera issue solved, the problem is in XIP and driver files not in anything else, however, I have new issues, cpl appletts not working, headset volume limiter, system info and one other, I already fixed a few issues A2DP being the major one, if you really want my new build please wait a few days and you shall have it, 19588 CE & build 19588 from Hermes thanks to Abusalza and tjkattaka<-- or something like that sorry dude cant remember.

I have a new build, camera issue solved, the problem is in XIP and driver files not in anything else, however, I have new issues, cpl appletts not working, headset volume limiter, system info and one other, I already fixed a few issues A2DP being the major one, if you really want my new build please wait a few days and you shall have it, 19588 CE & build 19588 from Hermes thanks to Abusalza and tjkattaka<-- or something like that sorry dude cant remember.

Also just a few pointers i have noticed that u mayb can tweak in the next bulid as i find it so frustrating

1/ preservation of date and time settings. Everytime i take the battery out 4 1 second and the they are gone but for some odd reason the last person i called is saved ill be darned if i know y it does that. hehehehehe

2/ and this i think is the most important. thats how i feel. Is when some1 bluetooth's u something u have no option 2 save 2 storage card or to let it go 2 ya storage card my extended rom is nearly full with only 2 meg free man. I need all the space i can der and especially when some1 sends u a big assed file where am i gonna go with it.

so homer I wish these problems can be retified and if they are it will looklike i will hold on 2 my atom for a while longer.

Hey Homer, i know you are not working on the diamond rom that you linked us previously, but just for your update.. It broke the record of 5 days battery life with normal use and calls upto 13 Hours (in 5days), no doubt that rom is broken, but still has a lot of water to hold...

BTW i am still on that rom with No sms, bluetooth and camera ... Ahh... life is so good :D

I just checked it, seems fine to me, the file is self extracting double click to execute and then click arrow and use down key(at same time) to select OS ONLY.

i got it homer.. the os only option does not work for me. i opted to use the "other" files from your previous rom and selected "all" in the upgrade option. worked fine. it's a great rom, fast and stable. but i still have to test the battery yet.

you can use the mot, img and the the other files from your previous rom. put it in c:\windows\temp and extract homer's wm6.1 to that same folder and overwrite the older files. select "All" in the upgrade dialog. It worked for me. Good luck!

You will have problems if your Local Disk is not C: you can overwrite any Diskimage_Ver with this one as explained above.

only ftouchsl 2.7 works with this rom. ftouchflo and ftouchsl 2.5 and their lower versions works but messes the display. a mouse pointer appears on stylus tap.. is that some sort of a bug? i really love ftouchflo.. =(

Great work you're doing here Homer, not everyone kows how to appreciate it. I'm Running your previous WM6 0.7.2 Rom & it's the fastest & most stable. Tried others but always come back to yours.
I tried this new rom but I can's succeed synchronizing with Activesync. Tried all the tricks(deleting all partnerships, Reflashing, Resets etc..) but could not succceed creating partnership, it just returns to "Guest".
When I revert back to the previous rom it syncs perfectly.
Any Ideas? anyone have this problem too?
