The battery issue is related to memory module addressing, putting the modules far away from their original location when they were built caused it to drain batteries. <-This fix was discovered by TJLA thanks bud!

Im trying out this ROM right now and now waiting for the battery to reach 100% to do the battery rundown test.

I noticed that the powermanagement.cab is no more included...(is it no longer required?)

was this the cause of the battery drain?

what was it that you changed to fix the bettery drain issue?

Some ppl may also be able to run Atom Exec rom <-I dont advise noobs try this!
However if you device is "pre" Jan 06 you "may" be able to get the added performance from the Atom Exec rom, sucessfully!

Does it has anything differences in speed, free ram,battery life ? I know that it'll show 520 Hz in processor speed if you use BatteryStatus to show it up (I tried abusalza rom once, just to test how it looks then flash back to my rom).
BTW, why you need it before Jan 06 ? :)

basically the device use the same hardware, O2 changed something in the Atom just before releasing the Atom Exec (they're not silly) therefore prior to Jan 06 some Atoms had hardware exactly the same as the Atom Exec (obviously not 192MB rom) but they changed something around this time. Some HP uses are running the Atom Exec rom at the added benefit of the OC'ed CPU.

Reporting battery life of this ROM:

with some phone calls and 15 minute video and 15 minute WiFi. Battery has lasted for 2 days from 12pm Monday to 9am Wednesday with 25% left (so assume 10% until 12 pm)

Battery drain while sleeping for 8 hours 5-6%

I have SPB Mobile Shell 1.5 installed and powermangement.cab NOT installed.

I leave it charge all night. So you can tell by morning i leave home to work at 9am with 100% battery remaining and reached home at 6pm.

Usage : text messages, calls, and couple of minutes wifi for weather updates.

On WM5 with HTC Home - 45%. straightly taking bath and leave it charge.

On WM6 0.7.0a with HTC Home, Home Sprint - 60%. give me some time to have drink.

On WM6 0.7.1 with default today - 75%. I can have my dinner. huhu

However to homer, this is a very good effort in making our atom rich in features :D thanks.

This app is not really designed for use through device loud-speaker and such should probably not be used in device mode, just friendly advice and I will not be responsible for blowing up or damage to built in speakers, headphones or your ears!!:D

Hi Homer!

Would to say that SPB Phone suite works as well, im using SPB Phone suite v1.2.0 build 1409. battery life is great. i set aside my ipod yesterday so I can test it. Running the atom as an mp3 player for almost 2 hrs drive fully charge and it only consumed 29% of the battery.

I also disabled today wireless plugin since im using spb phone suite right now and it free up some ram as well. before free mem was like around 20-24. but now free mem is 23-26!. very impressive!

If you are looking for O2 Flame, I don't think there are any specific thread discussed to that model in Xda developers. However, you still can request the admin to open the thread for Flame series or you can have some related discussions in general section.

Maybe the Flame just toooo good, and not many people encountered problems with that :D

Hi Homer,

Thanx for your great ROM I have it running on my Atom for the past 7 days, please could you tell me if it is possible to revert back to the standard WM6 phone application rather than the HTC phone dialer app? I rather liked the WM6 standard feature that allowed the user to hit the "down" key and then get straight to the last calls history list. With HTC if you hit the arrow down key it takes you to speed dial list.

Also i note that this ROM as with Jiggs ROM drops the Blue Tooth connectiong with my Motorola H700 headset, is this a common problem wit hother users or just between my H700 ans the ROM? it gets a bit fraustrating to keep going to the BT menu and setting my headset as the "hands free device".

Thanx for your great ROM I have it running on my Atom for the past 7 days, please could you tell me if it is possible to revert back to the standard WM6 phone application rather than the HTC phone dialer app? I rather liked the WM6 standard feature that allowed the user to hit the "down" key and then get straight to the last calls history list. With HTC if you hit the arrow down key it takes you to speed dial list.

The reason you were not able to uninstall 2G dialpad is because of cprog.exe running when you uninstall it.
1) So, you can install it again
2) reset ppc
3) disable cprog.exe using taskmanager
4) uninstall 2G dialpad

you can use Advanced Configuration tools 1.1 from schap in the thread dev and hacking to change it back to the classic dialer.

basically the device use the same hardware, O2 changed something in the Atom just before releasing the Atom Exec (they're not silly) therefore prior to Jan 06 some Atoms had hardware exactly the same as the Atom Exec (obviously not 192MB rom) but they changed something around this time. Some HP uses are running the Atom Exec rom at the added benefit of the OC'ed CPU.

no problem at all, if after flashing again the problem still continues you may have a corrupted download, please download again.

ok. but now what i remember is i already have use camera after flashing with your wm6. and it works fine..

but after installing wordcard mobile(software to capture bussiness card). then i uinstall it because it failed to work. then now try to use camera is not working. even do hard reset..

usage report on Homer's cooked rom.

been using this rom for 3 days now... after flash it i running my atom with 100% battery charged... until todays... it still have 15% of battery....

my atom runs with few 3rd party program
-spb time
-spb phone suite
-sbsh pocjet breeze
-sbsh iLauncher (intergrated into sbsh pocketbreeze)

so far the roms running smoothly. very happy with the battery life... been using others cooked rom but battery life not soo good... with this rom i'm pretty sure that battery life has improved alot... but i'll monitor it for few more days n few more times charging... :D

i'll totally agree! it's not that bad if unit is in idle and you lose 1% per hour. Do the math and you'll get 100%=100hr =4days and 4 hrs hehehe

Its normal, even in official rom program mem is consumed by running apps, cache files, temp files etc etc, similar to PC and eventually you might have to softreset. Im glad battery performance is improved, I cant really take all the credit though. :D

Sorry I have no idea kumkum, as I cannot replicate the problem there is no way for me to troubleshoot your issue, sounds like a software conflict please try to troubleshoot it yourself.

yeah, I did another reflash and batt condition is back to normal =) I just don't know what happend when I did a hard reset. maybe a glitch or something. Really owesome ROM that you have buillt tnx again =)

it's not actually hanging, but lagging. HTC Home eats up a lot of resources specialy during startup or in your case a reset. Eventualy, after a while it will be back to normal

Search for the latest version of HTC Home Plugin, you can also tweak and disable certain features such as Windows animation to gain speed just search and read you'll find everything.

Actually by the strict definition, smartphones are distinct from PDA-based devices running operating systems such as Palm OS or Windows Mobile for Pocket PCs. While PDA-based devices usually have a touch-screen for pen input, smartphones usually have a standard phone keypad for input.

dude, i just reinstalled back the wm6 0.7.1.

I tested the exec wm6 rom you made, and here's my result.

1. The processor really running at 520MHZ, detected as PXA272.
2. .NET framework didn't working. i don't know about the rest, but i can't run Tweaks2k.net. It works fine with ROM 0.7.1.
3. Mono audio output using standard earphone 2.5mm.
4. Battery life still the same with faster processor.

Thanks Huey, unfortunately it does sound like an incompatible application, possibly not built for WM6 or just my build. I have mentioned before and now again that I shall not and will not provide support for 3rd party applications, so if you cannot use your device without the app then I suggest you use the 0.7a rom for now. cheers:cool:

this is a localization issue. which means, you can try to put in the wince.nls used by abuzalsa on this one. there's no guarantee, though, just a hunch. also, it could be missing fonts... you could try comparing the fonts from both roms. it's not a bug.

I think that is to be expected as it is also the other way around, (ie. some apps do not or will not run with .net cf v2) or at least in the near future anyway.

This rom is the most stable installed so far...tried about 5 before this and had some sort of issues with... not one reset in the last week ... the only thing is a crackling/popping sound on the audio... was not there before so trying to adjust settings but a small issue...so just like to add my vote of thanks to all concerned... not sure if will even update as very happy after installing HTC home :)

I used search function and all I could get from ATOM sub forum is 12 post wich 7 of them are from you , Garmin and Homer and said that you have to install sdkcert.cab and 5 of them are from HP rom treads and also 1 link about hp patch that included sdkcerts+camera patch. does it work for atom? or not? and do you have some link for atom? also i found tons of treads for other device. could you tell me wich one to use?

If you are using my rom then the sdkcert is not necassary, if your device is not an Atom then I cannot help you, and if your current rom is not this rom then ask support from author. :)

If no, try search the HTC audio manager in this forum and install it into your device (not your memory card).

maybe o2 plus conflict, thats why sms plus doesn't work. ive been using sms plus with no problem with the old 0.71. sorry can't generate the problem since i don't use o2 plus.

had the same challenge about a week ago (could not update from a Atom Exec Rom to this one... so not Homer's Rom) thought it was the USB on the Atom but it could very well be active sync ... check under connection settings and see if 'allow usb connection' is ticked ...for some reason it unticks itself some times.. also if not using active sync 4.5 might help to update... hope this helps

I have no idea about Java as I never use it, though perhaps the app is not compatible with WM6, sorry. As for the IM you could find the cab floating around the forum to set the IM to your preference, I personally use SKTools.
The HTC dialer removal has been discussed some time back in this thread.

all the program or apps, that cant be installed, wasnt just because got a crash with another apps (3rd party apps),.

well, in my own rom, i have install that two O2 problem that issued above,
without problem,.

It must be missing something, or you have port the wrong file,.

The fact was, every program will try to search the driver that make it run, (only search and use, so, another program that supposed to use the same driver still can use it,.

(for me, incompatible apps, that got crash because anyother apps, could be fixed!!)

Tnx for that mate, but the mere fact that we don't use the 0.71 anymore, and we don't use o2 plus as well. we can't generate the problem on ourside. Now with the release of 0.72, more programs or 3rd party apps can be installed without any problem. unlike before we had such problems with .NET 3.5

with the release of 0.72 such issue should be fix, more apps can be installed without any problem :)

place package(ROM) on desktop, double click (open)
click yes, so that It will extract to windows\temp and will automatically run DSUU :) hope this helps

I dont know your exact reason for posting about this rom missing something or not ported properly, perhaps you care to enlighten me? though I doubt it :D
As far as I can see this rom is very reliable and stable and I dont particulary care for 3rd party incompatible applcation support :)... Anyhow cheers bro

dude i downloaded the rom and flashed it to my phone but it seems to be the same as your other rom...

i was looking for srs wow hd in EXTROM but it wasnt there and the wm5torage is still 1.75 and i still have the default o2 roms... i hope you could check!

i really love how clean and stable your rom is!
