hi,

great rom! first thing I did when I got my touch: get your rom on it. I'm running 1.31 SP1 NLD now. But if got it right, your WWE rom supports the htc dual keyboard?

If I wanted to go from NLD to WWE, I would just have to download the rom and use the Rom Update Utility that comes with it? I wouldn't have to mind updating the USPL thingie and the radio rom?

After a first successfull flash with an unsigned rom (as the 1.31 NLD is), you can flash another rom without the USPL thingie. Only after you have flashed a signed rom you will have to cid unlock again

I tried 1.31 SP1 NLD and WWE, but with neither I can get gprs. My provider is Base (Belgium). I checked my settings over and over again and gprs doesn't seem to work. I always getting an error that my provider has ended the connection. Could it be because of this rom? Someone else having problems with grps? Stupid thing is: I didn't try gprs on the original rom that my touch came with. But I'm pretty sure though that my settings are correct.

2 problems I'm having with 1.31 SP1 WWE

- Sometimes when programs are running in the background. They don't show up in the running programs when I click the icon on top right on the home screen, neither in its option screen. But they do show up when I go to Setting -> System -> Memory -> Running Programs. It most commonly happens with SMS/MMS and the Comm Manager.

- When I go to the actions screen I click "New Email", it sends me to the message application where I can choose between sms/mms and my email account. When I click "New MMS" in the actions screen, it takes me to a new email window.

Anyone else having these problems?

Yes it does... files in the rom don't take storage space (there's a seperate "rom-space"). The cab will install them over it. Afterwards you will have the files double. The new ones you installed AND the one from the rom in case you uninstall or make a hard-reset. Ofcourse you will only see the one you installed in your file-manager.

The roms are named as 1.31 SP2, and will include Netcf3.5, many fixes and added some programmes to it like alttab and such.

The WWE version will be released today and the nld will be released after the year passes(most likely on wednesday)

I think everyone would appreciate it if you talked english :p But to answer your question: I read that you have to try a couple of times to flash, sometimes it doesn't work on the first try. And it might help if you removed your sd and sim card.

I don't know if this could cause that error, but: have you CID unlocked your device first?

While posting the above message I realized I haven't seen the HTC [X] button under settings on my phone.

I downloaded the HTC X-Button and installed it and now it is working. So it could be some problem in the Rom, in other words it looks like it isn't there.

Sorry for the misleading post about new releases coming before and after the new year, but i didn't manage to get them working on time!

But now is the day i'll release them out in the wild!
This new and updated roms include a bunch of new apps:

- Altab(allready present in the NLD 1.31 version but now also in the 1.52 WWE version)
- Endkey(mapped to the red hardwarebutton with longpress)
- Included a link into the first post attachments witch is mapping Alttab to the endkey button on longpress(must be copied over the existing one in the windows folder) its up to the user
- Managed to get the Quickmenu working in NLD version so it's included also
- And menay more

Hi Bram,

I really love your custom ROM's. I changed from the SPV-c500 to the Touch and I can't say I like the change. Too many flaws in the software of the Touch. However, I started experimenting with your ROM's and others, and I find them very useful.

On problem I have noticed is the following:
When I am in a call with someone, I can't use the on-screen buttons for muting sound, put it on speaker, etc. There is just a blank screen. When I rub my finger to find the location of the buttons, they do appear.. just in words. It's far from useful that I can't use them properly.

Is this an error to just my Touch or does anyone else experience this?

The 4 sided cube is currently under development, making a new design to it and the whole rom. I release it when The whole design is ready, and release that roms under the new names of 2.xx!

But noonski found out that that the pocessor(or cooling of the processor) is not as stable as other pocessors in other devices.
it seems that even if you have an identic HTC touch, the max overclock depends on your device.
My device can clock to 260, and myb yours can clock to 300. Very strange isn't it?

And by that, the different rom may couse a difference between high and low clocks.
So our touch is a very unstable device.

With my rom(Touch Surface 1.75) I clock variable between 143 and 247 with a boost of 260. works very nice!

I'm not really sure if what your suggesting would work. But maybe using the rom updater from this thread "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=348469" is a better start. It is suited for a touch xl (elfin).

But I don't know if you can just interchange nbh files in the updater application. Somebody else will have to give you that info.

He's not trying to flash this rom, he's trying to flash a touch xl rom using the updater that's being used by this rom.

btw, Mr. Guy, why do you want to flash your device to the original rom you found? As far as I understand, you are still using the original one that came with your device.

its the same thing on the CPU of your desktop PC really..
The 'quality' of the processor determines what level of overclocking it can take..
That, and the type of cooling used, of course. And even using the same heatsink, the thermal paste could be different. :p and used in different quantities..
The point is, every integrated circuit has physical limits very specific to itself, you can only be sure its gonna perform as it should if you use it at default settings..
The rom can influence power consumption too, and some of them do.. thats why I dont generally flash my device with a new rom the moment it comes out.. :o

After working with the new Rom all afternoon without problems, it started going wrong when I turned the phone off. Instead of going to 'sleep' mode, it rebooted, showing the T-Mobile bootloader screen and then shutting down completely.

I've been trying to restore the thing by flashing it with the original Rom, and other Roms for ELFIN/XL, but to no good. I'm hopeless! Just received the thing yesterday!!

Does anyone have any ideas?

Take the rom tiftof mentioned (he gave a link) and replace the nbh. It's an Elfin / TouchXL rom. This is a normal Elf rom. Don't know if there's a difference in the updater, but you will ben more safe to use that one. Please stop using this thread for this.

Find a good elfin rom (they should be on the forum )

And after downloading this rom try to flash it from the bootloader (multiply howto's also on the forum)

Yup this could be different for every user.

With seksona 1.17.xxx roms i could clock to 299 without any harm.
The device and rom decides how high you can clock.

I used your 1.31 and really liked it! Everything looks great about this ROM except I keep getting an error whenever I try to connect to my university's exchange server on activesync. Not sure if this will be any help, but the support code is 0x80004005. I verified with my friend that also uses the exchange via his WM phone and he has connectivity, so I don't think its a server issue. I also experienced the Advanced Configuration error other members mention above. Thanks for all your hard work :)

Just tested with a different ROM and I was able to connect without any issues. I wonder why it doesn't work with Surface 1.75 :(

That's a nice gesture :). I am using the free version with dutch dictianory atm and am very pleased with it. Cootek TouchPal Keyboard 2.0 beats the HTC keyboard by knockout in the first seconds of the first round.

I had been using Touch Dual and I simply loved it ! But it was a time when all the sh** stuff ruled the device and I though "why hard reset, let see what's new"... and it began:

- in the tutorial you alarmed to flash WITH card inserted... it's wrong becouse ruu stuck at 0% and touch can not run despite bootloader! after a few desperating attempts it finally finished ( but without sd ), which I inserted before customization...
everything seems fine for a while

- ie cache and some stuff installed in the folder "Storage Card" on the device so real memory card is called with number 2 and of course folder on the device is undeletable

- it's not becouse of you, but with xt9 on and native language sms is shortened to 70 signs

- long press of end key is not "alt-tab" but quick menu with pretty unusefull shortcuts

- the most unbelievable thing is that calculator, touch settings, camera and some others application DON"T EXIST in the memory ! in the start menu are only shortcuts
touch settings is really must have application so I simply downloaded it but installation says that I haven't system permission to install it !!!

It's not wrong.... flashing goes just fine with microsd inserted! Must be a mistake from you.

Have noticed that when you have a SD card which is larger then 2Gb, flashing a new rom cannot be done without problems; however - if you reinsert the SD card IN TIME (!) you'll never have the problem with a "2nd storage card"

There are a couple of flaw's in the latest rom; but why complaining - just flash back to the previous one and wait for the fixes.

You can also keep your original rom, but as you are flashing customized roms it seems to me you're not happy with the original at all....

Cannot open advancedconfig.
a critical component is either missing or cannot start because program memory is unavailable.
tap start > settings > system tab >memory, stop programs that did not
automaticly stop and try again..


But nothing is runnign..
just flashed it..

nothing is running..
only setup my mail and gprs..

want to config the thing with advanded config.
tryd a soft reset 2 times..

Hi Bram,

I had similar problems with my rom (V2). If I cook BS into it, it becomes instable. After I removed BS all is fine and I have been running it without issues since yesterday.

This could be handled with advanced configurations but there was an programming error. This program doesn't work. I would advice you to flash back to a previous rom and wait a while for the new rom Bram is cooking.

And now to answer your question, well i think bram will release the rom by the end of next week but also this is a speculation. based on what Bram told in this thread and the times between his releases i would say aprox. wednesday - friday next week

if I could suggest something what maybe is worth to look closer in next version - I've noticed that baterry status works quite strange. I've got it before but not as part of my last rom but like independent application. It worked quite different - taskbar indicator what shows cpu % usage refresh much more faster. In current rom version it looks quite not stabile - when I set it to 1000ms it seems that it refresh in about 2-4sec. Also I couldn't minimaize it efficiently - afther reboot it always shows up on today (not just in taskbar indicator as I've set).
Secound thing is htc album. I've got some wishes here. I thing it could be good to launch it also directly from album icon from (left bottom corner while camera display is on) camera software. Farther I've noticed a problem (but it shows only few times) with switching picture on full screen - sometimes one particular picture shows anyway instead other after moment - even when I change it to next or previous or choose thumbnail of different picture - first for a short while everything works good and right picture shows and after about half secound different picture shows instead. Unfortunatelly I couldn't find regularity when it happend.
Another thing with album - mayby is worth to reconsider if it could by beter to rotate picture permanently (in file), not only change the way to present photo in album. But it all maybe things not depended on Bram, am I right?
btw. has anybody got similar problems?

The advanced configuration tool makes a folder called memory card. It's made because the program's makes a new path for the IE cache, and because the program is english it makes an english redirect.

dont have geheugenkaart on it..

But i did have 2 storagecards because advantage tool
because i HAVE to remove my sd befor i can flash..

you could try to go in the advantage tool, and change the path to geheugenkaart instead of storagecard..
then you could remove storagecard (i asume that geheugenkaart is the actual storagecard)

When flashing and your at 100%, your Touch will reboot. At exactly thát moment you re-insert your SD card (so before the first screen pops up) THat will solve your problem and you will have no 2 storage/opslag kaarten. But: be quick !

Yes you can,

This rom is for the normal touch (althoug i think Bram maybe will cook with the new found rom that's for both the elf and the elfin)

But original this rom is for the normal elf :D

Hi Bram I just flashed my HTC touch with the Touch surface 1.31 and apparently I am unable to power on after doing so.

I can not even re flash the touch as I can not get to the active sync. Please guide.

Can you get it in flash mode? Push the camera button, reset with stylus, and release camerabutton when you are in flash mode. Now you should be able to reflash your device with the original rom.

I havent tried Surface yet, but the Blue Touch 4.0 I have at the moment works flawlessly.

I was useing both. Imho, I repeat IMHO - surface is much better then blue one. For example - more advanced keyboards, contacts, htc album in landscape etc.... I can't wait to next version....

Also the free memory after first boot is 29.23mb right now, and running very stable.
Currently i'm testing how far i could go with overclocking, now running stable on instant 283 mhz with not a noticable batteryloss.
Hoping to run stable with higher clocks.

I'm using the NLD 1.31 SP1 at the moment and it's much better than the default T-Mo rom.

I only had some problems with windows Live. After signing on, accepting the agreement, username and password, live search bar and live services off, and then turn of sync contacts sync. it throws me back to the sign on page of windows live.

Its right, but some guys talk about magic MemoryManager which solve problem with leaking of memory.
I hope, I wait..... I pray for it. :)

MemoryManager would give you some extra ram memory, but would most probably not resolve any pre-existing memory leaks.

Well, i not sure if there is an original IPL / SPL build in? ( I know they are low digits) After i brickeed and reset my touch with the newly found multirom (elf + Elfin) my numbers are higher.

Secondly i don't know how to check this before flashing. but once it's on your touch, you can check it in the bootloader (press and hold cam button and softreset)

well i don't blame him, he's currently testing it himself if he point out a date and something goes worng with the rom he will get a flame ond 200 posts about why he didn't release and that he promissed it etc. etc.

We know that bram only will release stable rom's and when there is a bug after release he will fix it asap. But his goal is a stable rom at once.

That doesn't take the feeling away that i also wnt it asap, but i think it's a wise decission not to pick a date for release :D

haha, funny to keep you waiting :p
i don't name a release date because i haven't finished the rom yet as i want.
there are some minor problems that need to be fixedand tested.
So the beta testers can get their copy soon to test and evaluate, there will be a registration for it.

i want to release a clean and stable rom here so it takes al little longer to build. and offcourse i'd had to port all from the wm 6.1 core to the touch so it takes time.

In the future there will be a dutch version, but for now i'm only busy with the wwe rom. when thats finished, i'll start making it dutch!

I can confirm battery status causes a nasty popup to appear - since today.
But it does not say you can't use the program, it just states it's shareware and you're free to use it.
However, those popups appear very frequently (every time i wake the device up) and this is annoying as hell....

After reinstalling, the popup is gone :D
