How about a separate forum for the i760. I'm having some issues with my device that others don't have on their devices. A central location would be nice to have.

Ditto. I just bought one, and should have it by the end of the week.
There don;t seem to be very many advanced users out there...

pdaphonehome.com has a big following for the i760.

I agree, it would be a nice spot to have a i760 forum. While I use both pdaphonehome.com and xda-developers.com, they really have two different tones. pdaphonehome.com has really gotten newbie oriented, while I still feel that xda-developers is really about tweak/changing/programming for a more advanced user. Just a thought!

I just got the i760 before christmas. Haven't done much so far. A lot of installing and uninstalling trying to figure out what works and what doesn't/doesn't yet.
So far:
wisbar advanced 3(the only thing I haven't really figured out how to customize yet)
RlToday
iPhone theme
PocketCM
slide 2 unlock 2
google maps
screen capture
I basically have been looking over the forums trying to find cool programs and install them and try it out. If it bugs out I uninstall and start over.
I hope to figure out wisbar and get a memory card soon...I desperately need more space for mp3s, excel files, and some simple word documents. I saw something about a hack to allow microsdhc cards to work. I have seen 8gb cards. Not sure if they would work for this device. But like with the rest I will try it and see once I buy one.

Hi there. I was wondering whether anybody knows yet how to find the device ID number on the samsung i760. On my previous xv6700, this was a 6 digit combo of letters and numbers, and I found it through the settings/system menu. For the i760, the code to view the main device info is #4357*, and an "ESN" or 7 digit serial number is listed and I'm wondering if that is in fact the device ID. Thanks.

Hi, thinking in buying one (moving from Jasjar then TyTn I because of their bad mic sound with almost any BT headset). but need to know if the i760 will do well with agenda Fusion , finger friendly dial up ,vito audio notes. So if you have time and be kind enough to try and tell, will be great.
One more thing , do u have any complain about the other party hearing your voice intermittent from your BT ? Thanks

does anyone even read these comments? There are tons of phones on this forum, I don't see why an i760 section can't be created.

I vote for a Samsung i760 specific forum. A centralized location could bring a lot more new users to this site as there arent many samsung i760 forums yet.

When HTC buys Samsung then I am sure we will think about it, in the mean time you will need to go to other sites.

Yup, I agree. pdaphonehome is noob central, and ppcgeeks has no traffic anymore.
Everything that HTC makes generally runs on the i760, so why not eh?

just install this cab file first. After it resets your device install your card and your cards will work without a flaw...works for my i760 and 4gb card...

Not too many people have the i760, i do though, and am looking to create a ROM for it. Hopefully some of you all can help with it, click here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=372046) for the thread.

Guys
When HTC buys Samsung then I am sure we will think about it, in the mean time you will need to go to other sites.
The only suggestion I'd make about that is that It seems to be that the user base here is one that is likely to be constantly swopping devices from HTCs to others and back - so a single "catch-em-all" folder for other devices would allow people to still contribute until they swing back to a htc device.
Hope that makes sense!

Do you guys think running a fourm site is easy?
Do you guys think bandwidth is free?
There reason there is a very clear HTC made only Devices. Is with just HTC devices the server buckles under the load sometimes.
If we add non-HTC devices everyone will want one. Samsung, Motorola, and iPhone Fanboys. Therefore, we would need more server space and more bandwidth. That would mean more costs.
I'm sorry to say but like the mod said before, unless HTC buys Samsung, it is NOT going to happen.
Sorry. Don't shoot the messenger, not trying to be a jerk.

Wow dude... no need to be a jerk about it. We're fans of the site, and as I see in the forums there are NON-HTC subs here... No need to get your g-string in a twist about some site fans requesting another sub.

It is true that this site is based on HTC devices, and I believe it's to keep some orginization to it. I owned the i760 for almost 6 months, and got tons of information and awesome apps here as well. Other forums have a specific sub-forum for the i760, I would suggest taking a look at them. If there was an i760 forum here, I would bet money that it would have less movement than the "Off-Topic" section.
Not to mention, after months on this site I had to trade in for the Touch!
So, just because there is no specific forum doesn't completely mean nobody feels a need to create it, but more that there isn't too much to discuss about it, like ROMs. If you have a question that you think pertains specifically to that device, post in the "General" section, or the sticky thread in "Development and Hacking."
Besides nobody wants to see McGee in a g-string!

If anyone has tried this, I have a question for you. How exactly do you perform this installation? Do you extract the files to a folder, then place them on the phone and run the setup.xml file? Or is there another method that I need to be made aware of? As far as I can tell, you can't run a zipped file on a phone? Granted, this is a .CAB file, but I just want to make sure about this all before I try it so I know that it works. Thanks...

Not that my 2 cents matters to most of the senior members or moderators, and by no means am I stating that it is easy to maintain a forum with such organization. However, it could have been stated to the previous user in less of a harsh manner.
If it's cost and bandwidth that are factors, I'll assist with those. I don't have any experience constantly moderating a forum, but I'm sure something could be worked out if you were receiving domain and hosting help.... at least I would like to think so.
Anyway, give it some thought and then either tell me to get bent, or PM me so that we may be able to work something out to help out the many i760 users that frequent this great PPC resource.

Guys, I agree. I am new to this forum, and have had the Samsung i760 since day one. I love the phone, but cannot figure out how to get my HTC Home to be the today home screen. I went to settings-today-items and checked it, but nothing. I am running a RL Today screen in its place until I get it figured out, but no one has given me an answer yet, could someone here please help??:D

Maybe now is the time to start an i760 forum.
I for one still use this phone, as well as my HTC Vogue. I swap back and forth frequently.
What I really would like to have is...
"Android on the Samsung i760":D
