Here's a threat JUST for Cube Icons so we dont have to go searching threw 50 pages to find icons.

If possible submit all file formats so we dont have to do any modifications. Png's, Bmp's and Brn's... whatever we need

Also, if possible ,so people like myself who suck at photoshop dont have to dink around and what not to have a horrible looking icon, maybe try and make it so all 3 cube colour background options are included (bottom middle and top) as well even going as far as making the media cube side icons to replace Music, Photos and Videos. In the new settings modification program its looking like we'll be able to modify the mediahub side shortly too very easily instead of having to go into the \windows and altering it from there.

Having all these icon spaces covered will just ensure that we have the option of placing them anywhere on the cube.

Add any icons you might have so we have all the files in one thread. Even if they dont cover all the icon spaces.


Carlosp's Touch Settings Program

If you do want to customize your cube please go to Carlos' "Touch Settings" Thread and download the program he's been working on. He has a new beta version available right now that makes it really easy to not only customize the icons on both your ApLauncher and MediaHub panels of the Cube but also now can change the animation as well so you no longer have the default icons showing up anymore when the cube spins.

Here's a quick referance list of where to find the icons that have so far been uploaded to this thread. Most Icons are only made for the ApLauncher Panel so far unless otherwise stated in the title. Should you require the icons that you like for the MediaHub Panel as well just contact the person who posted it and request it.

Download the Zip file below for the ApLauncher blank Icon set as well as the MediaHub Icon set to make your own. Remeber to post them for everyone to use.

Also, in order to convert your BMP files to BRN files so those of us with the CDMA version of the Touch you will need the BrnConvert.exe program. Very easy to use just drop your BMP file in and it converts it for you. Then package everything up in a Zip or Rar file and you are good to post!

I'm curious though, why have BMPs and BRNs as well? The cube icons are all PNGs. You'd only need BNRs for the other face of the cube (Pictures, Videos and Music)

I've got a Telus branded Canadian CDMA HTC touch and wasn't able to load on normal PNG's for the icons. When I would the space would just be vacant of any icon all together and show a black space. The icons, even the ones on the application launcher side of the cube had to be in the BRN format. In order to convert the files to BRN they had to be in BMP format first which is why those are there as well. You wouldnt happen to have the blank grey backgrounds so people like myself can try and make our owns would you? I assume you had blanks in order to make the tomtom and Navigon GPS icons for us

I just reopend the files as BMP's and resaved them as PNG files. Try redownloading the tomtom files and load them onto your phone. If that doesnt work maybe try opening the BMP's yourself and save those as PNG's... Also is it possible that your cube requires the files to be in BRN format? I tried a number of different icons before I realized that I needed BRN files. When I would load the png files on I would just get an empty black space where the icon was supposed to be.

Yess, that did the trick.... when I only renamed the .bmp files to png, it recognised it.... but not the ones U've ziped..( the png-zipped ones..)

the screen goes back to the cube but uses the smaller ones to show an extra couple lines of music information

Does anyone know how to change the rotating images to the customized one?

You need Photoshop or something similar and it's best to match the layout of the original files.
Here is what I mean:

There are about 17 different images to construct and they take up valuable space in your WIndows directory, so personally, I just stick with the icons

If you go back to the first page on this thread in the orginal post I made I updated it so it now includes the link to Carlosp's 'Touch Settings" program and gives information on what it does.

That said I also moved the MSN Icon I had listed there as I thought maybe it looked like it was an entire Zip of ALL the msn icons I made. Which it wasnt so here it is. That same icon that was posted in the main page... the first one I made.

Rob I realize it isnt the exact same icon that you wanted but I wasnt able to clean it up nice enough for the icons on the Touch. I think these turned out pretty well though. Thanks Blue! I think I'll make an Icon set with the earth a moon icons from that site. Might look good as an internet icon or something. Where its the earth as the main icon and when you press the icon it changes to white and instead of the earth the moon shows up. I'll see what I can do with it.

Hi Minga,

The tomtom icons are correct. I use them myself. Just make sure that you are using them in the appropriate place. ie if you want the tomtom icon to be in the middle make sure you use the icon titled "tomtom2_mid". The one you show in your post is the "tomtom2_bot" which is meant for the bottom 2 icon spots on the ApLauncher. Look at the thumbnails I've just attached and you'll see the backgrounds are the same.

As far as the Oper icons not working correctly they must just not be sized correctly. I've adjusted the size for you and have attached it to the post so feel free to use the new resized icons, delete the old ones of off your phone first though so you dont get them confused.

Hi Migna, I'm sorry I'm confused with your request for images for the launcher. Any icons you need for the cube are included in the tomtom zip file that you can download on Page 4 Post #33. You want to make sure that you are using the files contained in the actual zip folder and not just the thumbnail preview images that are on the post to show what is actually in the folder. Those photos are much lower quality then the ones contained in the zip. So please make sure you are using the ones in the zip... I can not stress that enough.

As far as changing the name that appears under your Opera and tomtom icons. If you look in your touch settings program on the page where you can chose the actual icons it says internet explorer right above where you put in the program path. Highlight where it says internet explorer and you can then change what the title is to opera. Same goes for tomtom.

Hi Sorry.. I still dont know what you mean by "launcher" do you mean in the main OS of the phone... like when you chose Tomtom as an icon to launch from the home screen? If so when you install the program and you make a short cut it should already show up as the tomtom icon. If it doesnt or if its the icon you dont want then I have no idea how to change that. Sorry. Maybe someone else here does though but this is a thread just for cube icons :)

Has anyone created a set of Official Style BRN icons that look like the ones that you will get on the beta Touch's? Like no real color and only a bluish tint to them?

Does anyone here know what I mean? Something like this:

hi folks, hoping one of you guys can help with this i am using a cube clone on my htc panda (working fine and all of the icons you guys have posted work well when i convert to png)

i have been trying to create an icon for MS reader but can't get the thing sized right

i would be very grateful if one of you folks could take the time to run me up a couple of ms reader icons so i can finish my cube.

incidentally the cube clone only takes png files for the images

Here's a couple of Icons I made up in the last couple of days.

One is for Skype, the other is a Mail app button.

Skype can also be done in green,

Mail can be done in blue, green, or red.

I use full size icons on the Touch, but these are probably of more use to most people.

These are all made for each space on he 6-app side, top, middle, bottom.

quick note, when you press them, the background color does not change!!! - the shaddow dissapears so it looks as if you are actually pressing the button into the phone!!

anyway, same as usual:
-BRN and BMP packs are both included.
-Icons are made for each spot on the 6-app side (top, middle, bottom)
-When pressed, it looks as if it is really being pressed in
-NEW- the BMP files should all be named so they will work as previews in the new cube config tool 4.0!!

Okay here's a couple I made tonight, first try so they are just okay.

I have the 3 positions for each icon and just 1 Press, which is just an inverted color image which is okay, but you can always make a different one if you want. Like I said these are my first and I was in a hurry.
All of the Icons are set a little high to allow text underneath.

Hello icons makers :D

As i like the normal touch icons (grey/ blue) i'm searching everywhere to find icons that fits into the regular design. But beside only this picture http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/2020/slithercube2rb1.png
(i tried to extract the icons from the cab and wel it sort of worked but those are not the the programs i'm looking for.)

There are no icons that would fit in same style and colors as the regular design. Is there an artist that could make a whole pack of icons that fits in?
(i prefer psd file so that i could past them into the buttons where i want them)

I hope some of you will stand up and make a big icon pack :D

Hey, just to let you know that, to help novice users with a 'plug and go' solution to transform and customise their cube faces, upcoming versions of Touch Settings will soon support installable ‘icon packs’. These will be packages of icons, plus suggested layouts for them, and optional suggested applications for the icons.

Does anybody fancy pitching in to design some icons (or take existing ones) and make an icon pack?

change dates back to any date of dec 2007 and u can change any settings.......till the time carlos give us some new one of his state of the art applications....

Probably because you have time-sync on and it resets to correct date before touch settings opens.......as soon as you set the date back open touch settings right away.

These Icons were not made by me. I found them on another site but they look great! When the icon is pressed instead of having a highlighted look the actual map icon itself gets pressed down and becomes smaller.

okay, im not sure if Vista cube 2.0 has made it over to this forum yet but its a big hit on PPCGeeks. anyway, the talented Polen, who created the 6 sided Vista Cube, updated to match his Vista Dialer skin, and Vista keyboard for the HTC touch (Vogue). with a little of his help i have gone ahead and converted my original 3 Icon Packs for the 6 sided cube over for use on the Vista Cube 2.0

i dont believe there is a cube config tool to support Vista cube 2.0 yet, but im sure there will b in the near future.

anyway, there are 2 zips, each containing 2 other zips, packs 1, 2, and 3. BMP, and BRN's included.!!

another quick note - THESE ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE ORIGINAL CUBE OR THE 6 SIDED CUBE. the Vista Cube 2.0 was made the same as the iCube.

does anyone have a mobiTv icon. ive been trying to make icon, but it never shows up right when i put them in. its either black or some crazy images that comes out. ive used the bmptobrn.exe file.

here is how i do it. make my changes then. save as bmp -> windows 16 bit then i use the bmptobrn.exe file. am i doing this wrong?

If you look on the first page one the second post... the one that shows all the list of icons in this thread you'll find the blank icons as well as the brn converter.

what cube are you running, what icons did you download? have you tried a manual registry edit?

Is it possible to use link files rather than actual images?

IOW, could I have all the icon files in a separate folder and then just put appropriately named link files in the \Windows folder? I was thinking the registry entries would need changing from ....brn to ......lnk, but then just swap the link files (or modify the target) to change images.

Would this work or does the registry entry HAVE to point to the actual image file?

Well... here's this for anyone interested. I made a custom application pane and customized my media hub. Here are the the _brn's to use to make it. The application launch pane has pocket word, TomTom, internet, Skype, Com Manager (bottom left), and NoData (bottom right). I am hoping to be able to directly toggle Wifi from the cube but in the mean time it pulls up com manager.

I'm also thinking of creating another side with six more applications and getting rid of the contacts, since I have that already on my home screen. Anyone else interested in something like that?

I am including the replacements for B0.brn and C0.brn because I found that if you replace those as well, the cube animation is smooth and you can't even notice that the icons are different during the rotation of the cube.

When I press I only see the changing of background color from black to white. So, those are the same icons but only with different background color??

Exactly. AL_05 is normal icon, AL_05_HL is highlighted icon with changed background color.

Okay the wait is over (for anyone who has actually been waiting)

JAMILU007 has made an incredible icon pack that is meant to follow the HTC Diamond theme.
