Unable to sign in with Windows Live messenger

I am having problems signing in with Windows Live Messenger (Version 10.6.0026.1400)

for over a week when atempting to sign in I get a messege "There was a problem with the server. Please try again later" after pressing retry a couple of times I managed to get logged in. For the past two days I have been unable to connect at all.

I can sync my contacts with windows live, its just messenger that is having a problem.

Also I am able to sign into with a different client, Mundu messenger, without problem.

I am running this on an HTC S710 and I am located in the Netherlands. The same problem occurs using WiFi or over GPRS (Vodafone)

After the connect has failed I find that my network connection will not disconnect - it keeps re-connecting untill I re-boot the phone.

I have also tried un-installing and re-installing windows live.


Anyone have any idea whats going on??

jm french and j have exactly the same probleme whith orange
try to keep out your sim card ! and connect by wifi !
it work for me but after your but your sim on your phone the problem come back


please anybody can help ours !!!

Same here...it's sooo annoying :-(
I already re-installed WLM, got a new Version, nothing helps.

I hope somebody comes up with a solution ;-(

Hier hetzelfde en ik heb net de ARA 1.27 ROM geladen.
Anders kwam ik helemaal niet op MSN (kan namelijk ook niet op live.vodafone.com komen, met de branded ROM niet en met deze ook niet).
Contacten lijst is wel gedownload, de rest werkt niet.

I have no problem using a 3rd party client (Mundu IM) and at the weekend I could connect with windows live messenger - first I disabled the phone radio and used Wi-fi to connect - this worked fine, so I then enabled GPRS and disabled Wi-Fi - that also worked.

Today I am again unable to connect when using windows Live messenger with GPRS.


(On GPRS I use the live.vodafone.com apn but I do not use the HTTP vodafone live proxy).


If re-boot & disable the phone radio I can sign in over Wi-Fi

- I can however sign in to MSN with Mundu-IM.

So is vodafone/msn blocking the GPRS connection???

same problem here: can nomore sign in to Messenger via GPRS, only Wifi.
though getting Windows Live Mail and logging into Live search works via GPRS!!!!
So only Messenger is affected, though I thought that Messenger and Live Mail are just part of the same program?

I've been running build 1400 without problem for past 2 months..as of 12/30 I cannot sync/messenger or email. I've heard similiar reports from other Q users. Sounding like we've been shut down...re-installing is no fix. Bummer..was one of the better apps! Any word around here?

Thanks!! So far so good! Still not so sure about the push speed..but I'm still tinkering! Running it on Motorola Q1. This version actually has plugin options too! Thanks again!

edit..I was being dumb! Works great..maybe better than previous version! Thanks again!
