How-To Flash:

Download and extract both files.
Place the extracted Open Touch v2.0 Beta.nbh into the Herald-uspl-beta3/RUU folder.
Move the entire Herald-uspl-beta3 folder to the root of the c:\.
Follow the simple readme file.

Notes:

The Biggy and SlimLine versions already have the Herald-uspl-beta3 included.

Give it a try and let me know what you think.

I agree, if the T-Mo versioon will consistently sync vith vista, It has my vote!!!
The syncing issue was the only problem i ever experienced in Open Touch v.10

I was wondering the same thing. I have an unbranded Herald as well. This rom sounds like it'll convince me to hold off on getting the i-mate Ultimate 9502:D

As a side note: If either ttran001 or any Herald user here knows what registry changes must be made for the Herald's keyboard, please let me know. This can actually MAKE a Herald ROM available from wing cooks and will allow me to make my Kitchen compatible with Heralds.

I am using your first version here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=343437 not the touch it 1.0.... because honestly I cannot look at those graphics... no offense, but I prefer your previous work...

Is there any serious differences between the open touch 1.0 and your first touch it 2.3 recooked version which I am using now, I prefer those graphics on the home screen, and still have not found the cube to be usefull....

Anyway, could you please have a version with and without the cube to please all, and could you please remove all the added software like ROM settings, etc, and include a nice package of cabs as options so that they can be installed to the card...

Also for graphics, the present clear homescreen is great! Nice and simple and allows the background to show through...

I have to agree there. It sucks that the Herald with my current ROM (Touch-FLO ) doesn't always connect correctly with Windows Mobile Device Center, which means I have to restart the phone via softreset (or sometimes even restart my computer, which is a bitch and a waste of time)..

So I fully agree.

What is the main difference in Touch IT anyway? Other then some added proggies and the HTC home? Is it faster?

I have not noticed a problem with syncing with Vista since I got the update for the WMDC.

Either way, please have a super light extra virgin ROM version without the cube in your release! And the icons for the HTC home are good either transparent or the once from your first recook(not open touch). Both are great!

The rest of the rom is pretty much completed, but I want to make sure that I get all issues from the last release fixed first. I hope to be completed by some time next week if possible. If you need any help with it, PM me. :-) I want to try it on my base ROM, too. I'm assuming you're cleaning up the tmobile ROM to use as a base as well? You can use my base if you want to (and it works properly.) You also won't have to deal with the tmobile extended junk clunking it up.

I never tested the cube touchflo, only the non-cube touchflo.

I'll post a known working cubeless package. I personally prefer it without the cube.

Right... I guess the world will never see version 2. There is one major reason: greed! At this time I will stay with my previous version and wait for someone be it ITJE to release newer version, or anyone else who will cook. Or maybe I will start cooking my own, it can't be that difficult. If these ROMS were perfect, I see making a donation for it, but for beta and for bricks, i don't know. I am willing to test the ROM and will donate when I know it works for me (like Reps at other sites), but paying upfront is a little too much. I guess everything starts for free (freeware), but as the demand grows (as well as praise), it becomes shareware, and then software that you pay for. Don't get me wrong I don't mind donating, but for screenshots? Personally I am waiting for a very light version and don't need the cube, or biggy menus! Something nice, fast & ellegant is what i would be willing to donate (and note again, donate doesn't need force me to pay or you won't see the new version). Excuse me if I offended anyone with my comment! I have beta tested and helped fixed mistakes/errors in the previous ROMs, and I didn't ask for donations for doing so! I personally understand what you are saying and see nothing offensive in what you said it's our opinion and you are entitled to it, and I am with you on stuff starting to be free then shareware then software and I will add it then becomes software you only install on one device and then only for a year, yes that is greed corporate greed I don't think this is greed if you read my previous post I said not to look at this as paying for the rom just a reason to donate to the forum and keep it alive I have seen many great forums come and go because of money issues, Ttran is not getting that money he is just trying to use his hard work to encourage people to donate. I also helped with roms and fixes (I came up with the internet and MMS fix when I had a wizard it was so frustrating that people would have paid me for it if I asked cause not even T-mobile could fix it at the time and people still use it today) and no I am not bragging..:) I never expected anything because it's a 2 way street I get stuff from here and I give what I can when I can and honestly I never donated before and I did today because I Know Ttran is not selling the rom he is just trying to help the community if he asked me to donate to HIM personaly I would not have donated a cent. Yes. I have it ready except I can't seem to figure out how I broke the Notes application. Look at my other post. I might release it tonight as an Alpha release to get people to help me figure out the problem.

Thanks again for your work, I have been playing with the rom for about 10 minutes and it looks fantastic and runs well so far great job.
some Icons in the LG menu do not work and either a message comes up saying the file can't be found or they dont do anything at all, I changed the pagepool to 4MB, I dont know what you had it set at anyway I gained a couple of Mbs of ram, I think the LG menu is a memory hog but it is really nice and sleek, I personaly would rather have the memory. I will keep playing with it and report again. thanks again.

How to remove the battery meter added by QuickMenu.

Click on start then QuickMenu and then Options.
Go to the view tab and remove the display battery option and save.

As for the office, that was my fault I forgot to add it in to the rom.
I will reup the file later on to include office and a few missing short cuts.

If you would like this options at all times then copy the short cut to /windows/startup/

No. The shortcuts are set within the program itself. (Which is why it's so hard for him to fix.)

It's ok. I figured out what I was doing wrong. The size limit was what was stopping me... I wonder if there's a way around it.

It has a size limit of 51,200KB. If it's smaller than that, it will give you a corrupted image error.

I've updated the rom today and a lot of the icons work now except for the following.

Excel

Java Manager

The rest of the icons from the menu system should be working now.
I hope to have the rest working soon but like you said its a long process of editing the DLL file.

There is also a of the rom without the LGMenu for people that do not want to use it.

A bit off topic, but can someone explaine to me how to connect to internet through Wifi using the Wifi connection on my laptop???

I tried looking into adapters and when I changed one of the options for automatic IP, the IP that was there disappeared and now when I am connected to USB, it doesn't connect, but I don't remember the settings that were there and which adapter it was...

And it probably never will. Same issue with the original Touch It rom that was missing Internet Sharing. All of the cab files and registry settings found on this website did not fix the problem. It has to be cooked in the rom for it to work correctly for the Wing.

I'm working on resolving the wifi issue with commmanger rite now.

Here's the package that goes into the SYS folder from the tmobile ROM. You might want to run G'Relock, if you don't already, to stabilize the modules. Just run G'Relock from the build folder if you're using Hypercore.

No offence, but that's a little lazy. We know what we know because we search or make it up and test it ourselves. There's no excuse not to search. You don't have to read all the pages, but you can skim through them pretty quickly.

I have the command excute... really nice.... I don*t think you can fix this but when u press touch start on the coner it go to the old drop down menu, I think it not aligned property.

It depends on the mode. If you have it set to "From top to bottom" then swipe your finger from the top to the bottom. Etc.

I have not had this issue with any version. Some people said they had issues with beta 3 and not 1 and 2. I've rebuilt beta 4 from beta 2.
I hate to ask this but does any body have beta 1 to retest for me?

It's the webview.dll file that is the issue. I will rebuild the rom in the morning.

i had this problem on v1.0, i messed around with settings on the phone till it worked. i dont remember what it was that actually fixed it - since i was trying so many things.. but here is the good (yet unhelpful in your case) news: IT IS FIXABLE.

lol- i wouldnt call tmobile for any sort of help. it took them 2 weeks of constant phone calls from hundreds of students at the campus who have tmobile, we had no service after a tower went crappy. for 2 weeks they tried to isolate each person who called and say it was a phone or sim problem. i finally called and yelled at the woman and told her that hundreds of students here have different phones and sim cards, there is no way that all of them are bad. they stick to a script so much its painful. 3 days after my call, they fixed the 2 week long problem that affected hundreds. IDIOTS!

back on topic:
open touch v1.0 is the greatest rom i have tried on this phone.. it is so stable and fast, cant wait for a 2.0.
v2.0 beta is too rocky for me to participate in the beta madness right now. maybe if i get some free time.

I agree v1.0 was the best rom I had tried since the original TouchFlo. I am also working on this to learn how to get around it. It seems great so far...

I do have a quick question though: While I was on the TouchFlo, it had this feature that when the back light was off, it came back on as soon as I pressed the end button. With this one I have to press the on-off button on the top. That was a convenient feature I'd like to have since a lot of times I use my phone when I am biking on campus. I think this feature was removed on the TouchIT which this rom is based on. Anyway does anyone know how to fix it, perhaps the reg key or anything like that? Thanks in advance and thank you for the great rom and am eagerly waiting for future releases.

I'm working on the version based off of the oringal TMobile rom and should have it completed by tomorrow I hope.

Also,

I'm going to have a version without the HTC_Home and will be replacing it with HTC_Plus since it looks better with the LGMenu.

Beta 5 has been uploaded,

This version is based off of the original t-mobile rom.
LGMenu has been removed during beta testing, I will readd it once the beta becomes final.

A lot of other programs have been removed to help reduce any possible issues with the rom.

Please start beta testing and let me know what you like and don't like about it.

I did find one bug with commManager today, if you run advanced configurations, it will mess up commManager.

I will remove the advanced configuration with beta 6 and hope that it will also be the final.

Yes you are correct it is 6MB, since 4MB makes the device run slower.
But then again some people like it set at 4MB.

I can understand that if you paid for something you want to be able to use it but give Slick IM a shot. I like it the best and its free. Its funny I dont hear many people mention it on here.

Thanks again for your excellent rom. I have been playing around with version 5 and the main problem is the empty ComMan that you said you are going to take care of it. I do have another very little comment as well. When assigning commands to the 5 buttons, there are two sections for button 5 one of which actually doesn't work and also there is no ComMan in the lit of programs. I used to assign button 5 to ComMan. I can definitely live with this but it would be nice to have it in the list of options. as i said this is very minor... thanks again..

i agree with everything but the LG Menu & the home disappearances...the mms works now...as far as sim contacts...i hate sim contacts showing so it works great...n the touch flo responds faster..but is there a way to make it more responsive or sensitive to touch?

Hi,

I think the main issue is people might not have reconfigured their today items.
I did not include all of the reg hacks to not display some of the items causing some of the items not to display correctly.

Fix:

Go go Settings/Personal/Today/items

and select only the ones you need and this should fix the LGMenu not displaying correctly.

i play tetris and pacman alot i suck at freecell but i have used it. Thx alot for pacman. Where did you get that tetris from it really addicting i think most of people do not notice the games there. I use my pocket pc for entertainment so i use stuff like that. If u do remove it tell me where to find it thx again

i got it to flash sucessfully.. and i must say.. its running really smoothly. im pleased with it.. ill report any problems.. but since its the final and ive been playing with it for over 2hrs and no problem what so ever.. only at the beginning the home screen was missing blocks or sumting as if it was disappering but a reboot cleared the problem

I have been betta testing for awhile now and It might just be me/my phone but I noticed a huge difference in Battery drainage The Beta with no LG menu gave me awesome battery life and was quite stable and then I switched to beta 5 and my battery life really went down fast I'm going to try final now ...oh and comm manager didn't work in beta 5 for me atleast..it just was a blueish backround type thing with a half of the active synk logo on the the left side but I couldn't access none of the options I noticed this when I tried to turn off a data connection but GREAT roms I love them and thanks alot
