I think someone is working on this, out of interest what's your headset brand and model #, thanks.

I am currently using sony ericsson HBH-DS220. So far, I can still use the current driver with my headset, I just need to do some trick... like for example if I need to used it to listen to music I just need to turn it off, run iplay and then turn it back on... quite irritating but no choice.
btw, having a value of 0 in A2DP settings of JointStereo is a lot more better and giving true stereo compare to value of 1, that was being suggested from the other thread.

what are the differences after I change my Xip as you did ? get more RAM or ROM ? I don't think it gets more free RAM in my Atom.And my Atom seems to be slower than not changing.

please note for your ATOM, only 20480 byte increase (this changes will be useful to ATOM EXEC - up 500KB). so perhaps you will not see it on your Program Memory. used the sophisticated tools to see your memory.

slower or not do not have relation with this changes. this only to change your virtual address. in fact if you notice the original WM5 xip have 2 more dlls.

well sorry fella's, think with this solution even though we can boast up ATOM program memory to 65MB but some software did not working (like Camera). so the best now I only can added 20480 byte free memory into our device until further notice. :rolleyes:

Not necessarily that the older ROMs do not have Camera problems. As for this new ROM, the Camera works fine now.

I installed with HTC phone pad already there when doing the auto install of ext rom
My SMS Backup is working fine
My Setting/Button says O2 media plus, seems to be like this from all the previous roms.
and i never try resco coz the phone provides one so its redundant to be to install another.

my phone hangs alot.. haha... . i dun mind :P but guys is there any way to store the message into the memory card so if my phone hangs i wun lost the message receive with the soft reset. really need help on this coz WM6 is really a gread OS to have.

well I had comment out on post #35. I had switch back to original WM5 xip address except for giisr.dll.

I don't have much time to do more debugging on xip memory address coz ... holiday time now ... :D

I hardreset and still not working for me, perhaps I will downlaod again and reflash, as for srs, you need to increase the HZ to notice improvement and you should notice a vast difference, good luck :)

mediafire link worked for me, though you may wait 4-5 seconds while the download begins that's all.

Dude, you need to un-zip ALLthe files in the C: Windows/Temp folder, THEN run the DSUU. it should work after that.

But I had a reason to ask the author the change the installation directory. I have a CHS Vista Machine and because it is too slow so I installed English Window XP in Drive D as a dual-boot system. c:\windows\temp is system directory of Vista so I cannot access to it from Windows XP. Maybe that is a problem particular to my situation. But why just let it installed in any other root directory like c:\temp instead of c:\windows\temp unless it embedded program instruction like ..\xxxx.exe to access Windows XP programs.

It is late and I am tired, but I like to say something before going to bed.

This is really a good AtomExec ROM. It is clean and fast. It has a very nice non-egotistic initial flash screen. Couldn't test all the functions and stability yet because of the short time of using it.

I have waited over 4 to 5 months for this ROM. If I had this ROM a few months back, I would not have bought a Touch (too slow, too little memory) and a Tilt which is heavy and bulky. You may go to any shops, look at as many models as you could, you don't find a machine exactly same size of AtomExec (Atom has less memory and speed).

Many many thanks to the author(s) especially to Chartreux who had spent so much time and effort to finally give us such a fine ROM. :D

I definitely agree with both, before this couple of ROMs from chartreu and abusalza my pocket started to look Old, now it looks and works better than some new models and the size is unbeatable....yahooooo!!!!!

Hi, I have downloaded from rapidshare with no problems, I have a 1Mb connection and it gave me less that 2 minutes wait time.

At the first update the PDA froze. I thought I made an other try with the update I downloaded from the rapidshare. The update runs smoothly at stage 1 and the stage 2 but at stage 3 it wrote: FAIL. (EXTENDED ROM) 6% Update Utility Extended ROM formait fail. :(

I hope both are continuing working on their ROMs. I like Chartreux ROM better. It is very fast, unfortunately it freezes more than I expected, bluetooth stereo and camera does not work. For the moment, I flashed mine with an old Chinese CHS ROM. It is much slower but quite stable.
So, it is always the combinations of software in the machine that cause headache.

Remember, there is no official supports for AtomExec and look before you leap. Read this forum carefully. The machine you brick could be your own.

I remember that in WM5 we could delete the Sync partnership but the contacts and tasks/calendar entries remained in the handset. Is this a bug or a feature of WM6. :confused:

I'm too tjkhattak61, When i'm delete partnership , it will clear all (but wm6 asking me to do so, i think it isn't bug it wm6 feature)

and again , I hardly sync because sometime work sometime not work so i decide to uninstall activesync 4.5 and reinstall again

sometime my bluetooth sync not work (they display require activesync4.5 but i install already)

We don't need a lot of features but a stable basic WM6 ROM in AtomExec.

thanks for the feedbacks. so far I used this ROM almost 2 weeks without any issue. (I don't have freeze issue on my device)

1. for camera issue: make sure your ROM version is 20071216A3WWE. (i took a lot pictures with my ATOM EXEC during my holiday and it's working fine)

2. for delete partnership issue, I will check it out, I'm not sure either whether that one wm6 features or bug :D .

3. for alarm issue, yes this is bug. well I missed the registry for that :rolleyes: (you can used addintimer app for temporary - on my post #3 until next version release)

4. for .NET CF issue? well not sure also since other .net app can running well e.q. addintimer

You are an absolute legend. I was just about to give my Atom Exec a big drop kick over the backyard fence :mad: when I stumbled across this website and your post. You may have just saved the life of this little PDA.

I have had nothing but trouble with phone echo/feedback, call drop-outs, PDA lockup and reboots especially in the middle of calls under WM5. Not to mention all the missed calls and messages.

It now works like a dream come true with WM6. Installed it about 2 weeks ago with zero missed calls, zero drop-outs. Very happy.

Only problem is I have Vista Ultimate on my primary laptop and I can't get Sync Center to recognise the ATOM. It just does not show up. Is it supported under Vista :confused:

I have it working on another Windows XP laptop OK.

Any suggestions???

You need Windows Mobile Device Center in the Vista and not Active Sync as in XP. Though u have to download it from Microsoft site.

Another Issue that i founded
1. I don't know why i can't sync through Bluetooth and sometime can't sync through USB even, It keep saying on PPC like "Must use ActiveSync4.5 although i already has it on Windows XP Pro + SP2 or SP3" and on PC "ActiveSynce cannot connect to the WM Powered Device" although it connected and AS4.5 connectig already (don't it is bug of AS4.5 or XP or PPC). In later version of AS with WM5 there aren't problem like this.
2.Sometime Camera will Flashing or Remember last shot and cann't shoot with 1600 Res. (Problem may occur when Restore from SPB Backup but sometime doen't have a problem) don't know why
- Solution is sometime i remove AS4.5 in XP and reinstall again and sometime hard reset my PPC and then booting all OS (PPC,PC) and then try Sync, sometime work sometime not and i'll redoing this solution again until it work (Doesn't sure they caused by BlueSoleil 5.05 or not but evey other thing work fine such as iTech R38 bluetooth autio/Holux gpxlim GPS)

3.My SIM Tool Kit Menu doesn't work 100%, I Hard reset to clean and entering Menu , It appear OK to go to any menu item but when try to fill password number the App always say "Please enter somthing" (I use Truemove Phone operation and SIM from Truemove - Thailand) I can't do Money payment or refill via this channel

- Other is very perfectly and extremely nice!!!!
- Very fast than WM5 official Version and Very stable except above that i mention
- I don't install xcpuscalar to minimize bug or hang

Now I just format my Hdd and reinstall with fresh of Windows XP again and restore PIM data to outlook, All problem were gone, It can sync through both Bluetooth and USB and don't have any problem, so happy and so sorry for my issues 1 but issues 2 - 3 still find solution.

CPU Profiler is an application in which you can select the CPU performance (Auto, Best Performance, Best Energy Save). That means it can control the speed of CPU. I suggest you can try to make this function in the next release. :D:D:D

CPU Profiler is an application in which you can select the CPU performance (Auto, Best Performance, Best Energy Save). That means it can control the speed of CPU. I suggest you can try to make this function in the next release. :D:D:D

i've downloaded the files, extracted it..then got six files.. connected my atom exec via usb cable..then activ sync paired with it..then i click the exe file on the OS upgrade..why is it saying "ERROr in C:"... then i wait for very long time on the message screen that says "reading device information"... what should i do sir? i need help..thanks..

i have a partition in my hard disk and have installed the windows OS on drive D:.. that's why i dont have a C://windows/temp folder on my Drive C:..however..i tried to create that folder there..and it works.. i have installed your WM 6 ROm..i'll test this rom sir and report any bug if there are any..it's working sir..but there are minor bugs that i've noticed.. first, on the Button Mapper menu.. the O2 media Plus button is supposed to be a Message button for atom exec right???... anyway, i can still map it to be a message button, only that the name it state in the Button Mapper menu says it's O2 media plus.. next bug i've noticed sir is the camera... when i turn the night mode first time, there's a glitch on the camera..then return to its standard mode..so i have to set the night mode again then it will run still....hmmm...so far sir, that's all that i've found..i still have a lot of days to test it..and also, i hope that this rom will help my wifi strength increase...i've a problem before...hmmm hope this rom can help...


sir, just one more question.. why does the program menu contains folders namely applications, multimedia, internet etc..does the WM 6 really contain folders like this???also is there a problem if i delete these folders and just paste the program shortcuts directly to the program folder??? and sir, i also have a question regarding the auto setup of your ROM.. why is that when i go to the camera settings tab, it contains two camera??? is it a bug? or is it just that WM 6 are mainly for 3g PDA phones which has a front camera???

Thanks for the wonderful rom that you have released. I have installed it and it has been running smoothly since. There are a couple of minor issues though. I could not set the ringtone with my own mp3 or wave music. it keeps displaying an error message. Also does not link very well with my Plantronics 660 headset. Occasionally the link will break off. pongisra, just press the upgrade and u will get an upgraded ROM. Don't bother of them being the same number.

Steps:
1. Uncompress the 7z file into C:\Windows\Temp
2. Verify the files, should be 6 files
3. Execute Device Software Update Utility.exe
4. Follow the rest steps.

I just upgraded my O2 atom exec to WM 6 without any problem.

But am facing few prblm first is that default application "Auto installer" is missing and few default application like "O2 Plus","Worldmate","eWallet" r missing so where r they gone bro and they were original by O2 so how to get them back ???

I tried the ROM, worked well, initially my Atom Exec is not showing the my mini SD card in File Explorer but I put it to memory card reader and again in to my PDA it starts showing the content.

The ROM is nice. O2 connect and O2 plus missing. Plz attach also with the ROM. I installed their separate downloads.

Mr vazeer --> you can do one thing apply the default theme from Today Plugin and soft reset your PDA, I also faced the same problem and when I did so, the problem resolved. hope it will work for you also.

After that, it still shows the no bible was found. but all bible is there.

i've got the same problem before. you don't need to install e-swords itselft. you just need the exe. But you need to install sql ce, eventhought it is inherent or built in. i hope this helps.

for the wifi, try changing the registry under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\State\Hardware] then "Wifi" but be VERY VERY CAREFUL MAKING CHANGES TO THE REGISTRY...

as I have mentioned this already in my other post/reply, my registry setting for wifi is kinda weird, if the wifi is on the value is 2 instead of 1. Normally registry values would mean 0=off then 1=on. Also worth mentioning that the/my wifi cannot be on/off while my unit is cradle. I hope this helps...

My Atom has a really bad battery life and I thought flashing a new ROM would help it. After reading a few posts I decided to go for yours. I think it has helped a little bit, but the battery life is still terrible. If I'm using WiFi, I'm lucky if it lasts for two hours after a full charge!.

Like I said, I don't know too much about this, so I was wondering if you could tell me your opinion on this guys ROM:

Thanks for getting back to me. Couple of things:
I actually only have an XDA Atom. Not an Atom Exec. Which probably explains why the battery life was still shocking with your ROM (because it was made for the Exec.)
I flashed that other guys ROM... brilliant. The battery life is amazing! My Atom now lasts a full day with heavy WiFi usage.

I think it was just my inexperience and lack of knowledge that was causing the problem =)

did you update your extended rom? since the wireless skin will read from there? seems the skin missing somewhere from your extended rom (_QHiddenPartition)

I got the same error during the upgrade. I am very sure that the upgrade follow your pecedure. And I viewed the passed thread. It seem that the DSUU cannot work in the vista OS. So could you hlep make a upgrade file that can run in the Vista. I think the the vista OS will be the major sysem in future.

Or could you tell other way?

current DSUU for ATOM EXEC only support in XP/2000. you may looking at other device threads, perhaps they have a solution for vista.

strange :eek: did you accidentally delete the files? well I don't see any good news to unlock your extended rom since you may overwrite something there ..

just try to overwrite the WrlsMgrSkin with the files from zip file.
or if you want to just update to latest wm6.1 (choose OS + Extended ROM).

I haven't tried any 6.1 ROM yet, so I find your/this ROM the best ever, as of this writing :) Just recently I've decided to uninstall a couple of unnecessary of today plugin w/c i don't use, using "today pluging uninstaller" from pdagear.net. I remember uninstalling a voip and wireless something. I also uninstalled msn and liver messenger. This is when the problem started; the wireless manager app keeps showing up from time to time. The wireless lan is on in the interface but the icon is not. When I try to relaunch the wireless manager app the wireless lan in not anymore on. Is there a way to prevent the wireless manager from showing up aside from doing a hard reset or reflashing? thanks and more power.

@Chartreux, At first I would like to thank you of sharing your hard work to us, It's a nice room Chartreux but I think I discovered a bug, it's about the camera. By choosing Storage card as saving destination and if I take 2 photos in a row, (one right after another) The camera seemed to be freezed up, do you have any idea with it Chartreux? Or maybe it's because of my own device f*ked up?

It might be a memory managagement problem, so I'm now running FreeRAM regularly to clear the RAM...

After further testing... it does seem to have a memory loss issue. FreeRAM helps, but after a week it still needs a reset.

paiseh, I press Camera+Reset, then launch DSUU, but it says createTempFile fail, and then it's like stuck in the small popup "Checking the info on your device" and the PDA like no effect "Waiting for download command..."
Is there a specific sequence?

I run DSUU, reset PDA, click Next, insert USB.
