I cant say how often and because of what but sometimes backlight/display doesnt turn off. „Display time out on battery“ and „Display time out on AC“ resets to „30 seconds“ and the display keeps shining.

I set this

And after some time, two values are automatically set to 30 seconds.

Yes, I had similar problems with S710 too but I read it was corrupted because of TCPMP. I have fixed this S710 backlight problem editing some registry values but on S730 I cant find these values.

martinbr: Do you have installed TomTom? I guess we could make a list of our installed applications and compare...

I do not have TomTom.

I have GPS utility, resco explorer. resco photo, agenda one, Gmaps, facade, SOTI pocket controller, pool rebel, SPB wallet and thunder flashlight.

Well, so the matches are Resco Explorer, Resco Photo Viewer ang Google Maps. But these are pretty common applications...

Did this always occur? if not, when did it start? do you all have anything running? Does this occur after a soft reset (reseating the battery) before you start any programs? Are there programs starting via the Startup folder? Have you tried a hard reset?

Did you try to disable COM plugins? is your spreadsheet linked to an unavailable source? is the domain controller available? Is the backup intelligent transfer service started? have you disabled the windows firewall?

Thank you, come again. :p

The registry key for the s710 was:
HKLM/ComtrolPanel/Power/Display

Standard the key doesn't exist on the s710. Applications like TomTom use the key and create it when it isn't there. After closing the application the value is 0. The sollution is to change the value from 0 to something like 30 seconds.

I don's own a Wings (yet), so i don's know if the key exists om the Wings...

Had the issue on S710 and it reappears on my brand new S730 with Tomtom mobile 5.2 (even if backlight setting in TT is only to stay on when battery is charging) but the same utility spWZTool is working (a bit of a pain to have to launch it after Tomtom, if you have a better option).

Found the key HKCU//Control Panel/Power/Display with value of 3145779 and putting it back to 30 works !!!
