Hi guys,
We all can feel that ROM-Developers r growing day-by-day and getting more and more powerful with every single release. Since O2 is not going to give a damm about the huge effort and time of the developers, why don't we make our developments more streamlined which can be more helpful to all of us.

Firstly, what we see now is different developers are releasing ROM with different CE versions individually with some more or less tweaks which makes a confusion which one to use?

Secondly, different developers are releasing ROM with different softwares included (Ex - touchflo, srswowhd etc.) which make things really really confusing to choose.

My proposal is why don't we do things more like a project and developers can work all together so that everyone can contribute, share new ideas, implement all tweaks etc.

What we can do is:
1. We can take the latest CE version and make it ready for ATOM with clean build. No third party apps, no nothing...
2. Then we build apps in a modular way which wil have installable .cab or .exe file which should be users choice to use or not.
3. We can continue bug fixing untill a new CE release.
4. With new CE release a new project can be lunched.

Now all these are my personal feelings. I don't want to hurt any developers feelings. What i believe is unity is strength...

Regards

by modular, we release it in a kitchen style, so users can incorporate the apps that they want to personally use. the space within the ROM is a waste if we will just install the cabs on a base ROM.

Building Rom shows the builder's talence (I thought) so we should do it independently, but we can share the others our experience to make a better ROM for Atom.
Once I shared here my kitchen, but it seems that ppl dislike it or see it useless, so I've removed it away. :o

thanks to u all for kind opinion.

u r the life to ATOM. if u feel more comfortable to work alone then its ok. but still do u think it will be better to follow some rules for the community?

1. ROM builds should be clean with default OEM apps. every one can download 3rd party apps. is there any point to take someone's clean build adding some 3rd party apps and release?

2. one developer or one group should work on a CE version on a thread? all ideas + tweaks + beta testing should go to that thread?

3. all developers should share their expertise. new ideas + tweaks for same CE should be included in next release in same thread (no new ROM release thread)?

once again, all these r my personal feelings. i'm sorry if i hurt any one.

so to all developers and users what do u say? i need ur opinion...

regards.

Well, who like rules? haha

1. Our ATOM hav limited space, So by max out the ROM space we can install more things. And the very reason why we cook our ROM is so that our ATOM is personalized everytime even we hardreset.

2. Im sure all developers here are very willingly to share their ideas + tweaks. The things is not at a thread here. I do learned alot from others here thru MSN and friendster. U wont wan a group discussion whenever u ask a question or tell an idea when u hav to browse thru many ignorant posts right?

3. Having WM6 on ATOM is already AMAZING. GARMIN, Homer and others are still upgrading the OS version whenever theres one. Tweaks are found all around these forum, some good for you, some not good for others. Just like OEM packages, some like some dont. But the ideas of having a thread for tweaks is good, tho WIKI already hav some :)

No worries your ideas wont hurt anyone :)
