Flakey signal? Orange UK

Hey all, I've had my Wings since 5th December. It's a nice phone but lately, last 5ish days, I've had really bad connections going on. In the office I just had to put it in 'Plane mode' to pick up the usual 5 bars....

I have a bad signal at home anyway but I loose so many calls lately.

I will call Orange to see if it's their end

I was wondering if it would be something to do with switching between 3G and GPRS as the signals degrade? Can I force GPRS only mode for Home usage?

I do also have MMetrics Meter installed any known issues with that?

Orange admit it may be their fault, just sent me a SIM update, I'll let you know.......would hate it if the phone were faulty :(

Settings/Phone/Band Select allows you to select GSM(G)/WCDMA(3G)/Auto modes.

There are apps out there that will switch more easily or to a schedule but I haven't found one yet that works on WM6 Standard. :(
