Here I will gather some of the splash screens and backgrounds I'm creating. It is free for all to use!

How you change

1/ Original BOOT UP splash ( HTC/AT&T logo Radio/Protoco version ...etc) -->> ( have to use Pof's "SplashTool" and converts to nb* file (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334904) and this tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311909) to create an RUU)

2/ animated screen -->> uses an animated Gif that can be replaced in \Windows

3/ WinMobile splash screen/Logo -->> This one uses the "welcomehead.96.png" ... (Totally different then the 1st splash screen)

Here is a concept I like to call "PSXDA-DEV"(Proud to be serving XDA-Developers)

This concept is an idea that people have something to relate to, something to increase patrioism within the XDA-Developers.com(And anythign affiliated).
I'm thinking of splash screens, backgrounds, avatars, bumper stickers(:p) and such.

I got this idea, since I've noticed that this forum has growed extremely large, and it has yet not a visual face outwards. This I hope is something that can improve that, and be something that could be used proudly in connection to this forum

I've created two examples so far, but if people are interrested, I will make lots more!

Why not setup like a Flikr, Picasaweb, or somesuch type of album just for these. Then they will all be in one place. You can provide a link in the first post to your album where people can then download them from there... You can even use the img tag here to display them in your posts.

Oh, sorry. Misunderstood your question there.
First, click on the screen you like to open it in correct format, then just right click any picture and click "save as", or "save picture as".

The rom tool doesn't go on the phone guy, the nbh that you pack using the rom tool goes on your phone using the RUU! Read the instructions. You may have to DL the inbi file seperately as it seems the update server has been down a lot.

Remember, you're using several different tools here that have multiple uses. It wouldn't hurt to read aout each so you know the how's & why's of what you're doing.
Anyway, here's the screens I use:

Name the file welcomehead.96.png and copy it to the Windows folder using Total Commander (it's included with Dutty's rom).

Find the file using Total Commander. Hold-click, enter properties and uncheck read-only. That should work :)

I did actually try that but it has the "Loaded in Rom" also selected and grayed out not allowing me to uncheck it.

About the not being able to copy to windows folder - this is strange. At first, I was able to do this without any troubles. Then I soft-reset my device, and I cannot do it any longer :\ I find this kinda strange, actually, and I have still not found a proper solution. Anyone out there able to figure this out?

I believe you have to flash your device to change that screen, and that is a slightly more complicated process.

Well, the "proudly serving" part is kinda how I feel, though. I feel that I'm contributing a tiny bit, and helping people, and just that makes me kind of proud. Maybe I'm just that kind of guy.

But of course, I'm open to use just the XDA-Developers if people would prefer that.

And if their planning on a logo soon? I don't know, but I'll love to help :)

Hehe. I catch your drift. The only problem there is Copyright infringement, so I'll in that case have to get some pictures which I can use freely.

Of course, if anyone has pictures I can use, then I would gladly accept it :)

But I can edit some pictures you like for you and distribute them in a .zip file without using the Picasa site. That way, I believe the copyright would not matter

Just send me a few pictures, and you'll have them back in a jiffy :)

Can't wait for the ones w/ out the logos. I use mine for my S2U2 and the logos get in the way of viewing my clock and my appts. But I've been using them nevertheless since I like your backgrounds :)

There! Finally, I've removed the logo from the screens.

I'm really sorry it took so long, but my eHDD died(crap), so I lost alot of the .PSD files :\ Therfore I had to rebuild the .PSDs from the .JPGs I had on Picasa.

I didn't include all, but most, so if there is a screen you want clean, and can't find it in this package, just let me know

I'm not sure if I can make more screens for the moment. Need to save for an HDD, as my present really suck :p Had a few crashes, so the one I'm using now(after my new one crashed this week) is a 60GB HDD :\

Then I open the bmp in nb_image_converter and convert it to a .nb file. I then open up htcrt, and choose kaiser from the device drop-down. Leaving all fields (model ID, Country ID, version etc.) at their default values, I load the .nb file into the splash box and build the Ruu_Signed.nbh, choosing to pad the file with 0's. Everything seems to go well, but when I flash the file, all I get is a blank white splash screen. What am I doing wrong? I would really like to have a custom splash to show off!!

I have to say that my friends kaiser is showing an extra splash when showing the radio/protocol info.

This one is from vodafone, and I'm not sure how to replace it, I was able to replace all the others but not this one.

Simpsons, Veggie Tales (Yes, I will watch it myself with no kids around. The writing is brilliant IMO), King of the Hill, Futurama, Family Guy (when I'm in the mood, as Seth McFarland's humor gets old at times for me), South Park. Will watch Sponge Bob, Jimmy Neutron, and a few others with my kids (but don't go out of my way for those). Then love Shrek, Toy Story, Incredibles and similar movies. Really looking forward to the robot movie coming out this spring (can't remember the name but its by Pixar).

So, yeah, I guess you can say I watch cartoons ;) And yeah, I'm an old fart ;)

Filez Needed:

HTC Rom Tool
SplashTool (comes with nb_image_converter)
nb_image_converter (You might need COMDLG32.ocx and MSCOMCTL.ocx)
hardSPL
CustomRUU
An image 240x320 (Bmp, Jpg, or Gif)

FIRST: (Make sure you are ActiveSync'd with ur phone)

OK now download SplashTool and unzip it and you will get two files Splashtool
and Nb_Image_Converter and find the .ocx files you will need that it might asking you for...use Google as I am not providing anything but info....run
nb_image_converter and convert your picture to an nb file then use splash tool to pad the file because if it ends up being any size other than 256KB then it probably won't work.....

You can get the great splash screens that work provided in the link given ealier by
Tec1106 and by the way Thank You Tec1106....

Next

If you haven't already install hardSPL on you device then do it and if you have Dutty's Rom installed or other custom rom then you probably already did if not dl it and follow the directions. The next thing you must do is use the HTC Rom Tool run it from it's own folder from your computer. Also if you haven't run it before it might give you an error..something about..no devices...just run it again and that should go away...(if not...up to you to figure it out) now build your rom by selecting "Build" This will take you to the "ROM Builder" Then select your device...Kaiser if you have a Tilt or Tytn II..) Pack the .nb file into an .nbh file select the Splash...and select your nb file and build the rom (Don't mess with the other settings cause you don't need too.) It might give u a few dialogues...just hit ok then yes if you don't want it to give you warning msg anymore....thats up to you although it is probably good to keep em around. Your created .nbh file should be 258KB if it is smaller or larger....u screwed up....Next get CustomRUU, put the .nbh in the same folder as the CustomRUU (only have this .nbh file in there) make sure your Sync'd and flash

Hope this helps people as it took me a few hrs to figure it out and write this....learning as I wrote..... ;)

If i use a white splash, like your chinese style images, I do not understand why, but after fhashing into the Kaiser, something strange happens... A black stripe in the bottom of the screen appear, cutting the image exactly where the ROM and RADIO information (in red) appears, let's say 60-80pixels...
I'm using the POF's guide to make the splash screen...

Can someone help me to understand better this thing?
