So I visited the forum tonight for the first time in a month (feels like 3! :p ) and I find many new ROMs floating around. Interestingly there is a lot more use of touchflo and the cube - obviously some of the wrinkles have been ironed out since last time :)
Basically, I wanna try some new ROMs, and there are a couple that have caught my eye (Faster Again, K's Rom), but I would also like to hear if there are others that I should, in your opinion, not overlook. Positive/negative aspects would be appreciated as well. :)

I have tried the K's ROM V1.21. Very fast. Together with the TouchFLO and TouchCube from eFrost + Kona, it is the best for me so far.

I'm using Shamanix's Grass v2, and it's the best I've found (althought all this is personal opinion!) for speed vs functionality
The best advice would be to look here:

I vote Pay's as well. Tried a couple and this one seems to be most stable and quick without the bloat.

:) It would prove a lot more useful if when you recommend a rom you state WHICH ONES YOU HAVE TRIED! Don't worry about hurting the cooks feelings! :)
I have tried Schaps 4.22 and now I am using K's 1.30. The first thing to impress me was that selecting new sms was pretty instantaneous where as with all the other Roms I've used to date I had to watch the busy symbol for a couple seconds.

i've tried K's all of Shaps' and vp3g's, the Pandora Naked 6.....i feel like i've tried them all but I always find myself coming back to Shamanix's Grass 1.3. It's fast, light and stable. For me anyway it has the right combination of space and functionality. The Naked ROM was, well, a little too naked and some of the others came w/ a bit too much. 64MB of storage and over 31MB of program memory on a cold boot w/ the apps included in Grass v1.3 not to mention the speed and stability i've found make it my choice.
happy flashing!

Started off with K's and will try a few days, so far so good. A fully functional Touchflo is soooo nice :D

Did you find that the touchflo/touchcube thing slowed down your phone? I want to try it out but i'm really enjoying how fast my phone is running with just k's and I don't want to bog it down. Thanks.

i'm using touchflo and the cube on Grass v1.3 (installed via a cab file) and surprisingly there seems to be almost no noticable effect on performance.

This thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353347) should be really interesting if we can get enough interest to it. A propper benchmarking program for us to rate and test ROMs (under the same test situations) would be a VERY useful tool??

Not at all. The TouchCube experience has been very good. Fast and reliable. Things have improved so much with efforts from eFrost and Kona. Highly recommended.

Have you tried other ROM's? I am using Schaps' 4.00 lite and am looking for alternatives but ruled out TNT based on KarlU's benchmark.

It didn't seem to show up well on KarlU's test?

If you want a true feel for a rom i'd say take it for a spin for a week and see what ya think. I wouldn't really count solely on the benchmarks because different phones and setups will respond different even when using the same rom. (this is no diss on your work Karhu; MAJOR kudos for ur spreadsheet. Musta taken a hella long time to put together.)

Yah, just that setting up after a flash is a pain in the rear. Takes > 1 hour installing all programs, mail, ...etc. May look into SettingSavior. It might give me some relief. I'm really interested in knowing what different ROM's each has tried and settled on which one. It will be a good piece of info for all.

i wouldnt go by the benchmark alone. Benchmark is more of theory.
In practice TNT has always been good for me.. All the versions have been really stable and fast. Even better than scaps !!!!
i have not tested K 's ROm... WIll try that out soon...
I think TNT is the way to go
