tilt has turned on twice since bad flash

Well- no more than 8 hours after purchasing my Tilt (on clearance, no refunds.) I have successfully rendered it useless. I've been spending a great deal of time since then attempting to revive the device. I successfully flashed hard-SPL to the unit and was in the process of flashing a new rom. It crashed halfway through. This is when the problem began. Now I have an unresponsive device. Camera + Power + stylus reset does nothing. PTT+stylus reset does nothing

I've gotten the unit to turn on twice (seemingly by pressing just the powerbutton). However these two power ons were about 4 hours apart and I have thus far been unsuccessfully attempting to turn it back on.

When the unit powers on it reads:
KAIS*0 MFG
SPL-1.0.OliPof
CPLD-8

and says Serial

If i plug a USB plug into it at this point the Serial does not change to say USB.
The first time it powered on the new hardware wizard was looking for a few data input devices that I had it skip (i read one thread mentioning a qualcomm device diag mode that had what sounded like similar symptoms). The next time (on a different system, also running XP) nothing was detected at all.

Are we any closer to a JTAG solution?

I feel like I just threw away my new toy.

Alright, after I gave up late last night I took the battery out overnight and tried turning it on this morning. When I replaced the battery the device turned on. I had previously tried taking the battery out for 10 seconds to a few minutes and replacing it with no luck. I've just replicated it now after waiting about 20 minutes (while reading finding and converting 'flash using microSD' instructions.


When I replaced the battery and powered the device up it not only turned on, but located the KAISMG.nbh (which i got from RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE.exe) and I am in the process of flashing it now. However. the meter has only gone about 10% of the way (if that) and is not progressing at all.

So. I have plugged it in and plan to leave it there to see what happens.

Am i supposed to see something after those categories? like the OS i am flashing etc? could this be why it's frozen?

Actually, It hung during the update I referred to above. Then it would not turn on at all. No amount of battery removing /waiting worked.

I think i should have been flashing from MicroSD all along.
miraculously, i managed to find another and convince them to be a bit more lenient with their "no refunds"
