This thread is about PUMA_T candybar phone sold as
-I-Mate SPL (WM5) some unofficial WM6 exists, sold with WM6 on some Chinese stores

This phone is also the Sitronics SSP-101. It's a Russian phone that looks exactly like the i-mate SPL except it says SITRONICS in white letters instead of i-mate spl in blue letters and it has Russian letters on the keypad in addition to the english.

These are actually great phones, it's sad they didn't go anywhere. Other than battery life, the Blackjack and Blackjack II can't compare to this phone (I've owned those also).

I'm looking for a WM 6.1 ROM with working IE and WMP buttons (mainly IE, I don't use the WMP button anyway).

Any updates? I have the SSP-101 and the version of WM6 that it ships with is so limited. It don't even have a Task Manager. Very limited options. :( Hope one of our cookers gets something nice on the kitchen that would work for us. My phone is 1month old and sitting on my desk because I can't live with the limitations of the stock rom.

Edit: HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406879) is a thread that talks about the I-Mate SPL, but, no where on my phone can I determine if its a G3 or G4

Hey Mark, just wanted to add I'm in the same situation with the SSP-101. I've tried flashing a 6.1 rom for the SPL to it, but I can't seem to get the SSP into it's bootloader to flash it via cable or miniSD. Just this second dropped an email off to Sitronics so we'll see where that goes!

Let me know if you have any luck with them. The ship ROM is so limited and the signal is very poor. Hopefully we'll find a way to upgrade it. I gave mine to my son for now. Don't care much for it with the ship ROM and Radio.
