Thanks for new version..;)
does this version has problem with SIM PIN at start up?
hm. It has that problem. It is by Infosharp. If you want to enable pin - remove Infosharp (sms.lnk) from startup and launch it manually after device start.
And how can we turn it too looks like ROM by AND
Instal SmartToolkit ;)

thanks for reply ..I'll install it today....
I guess Infosharp (sms.lnk) is in \windows\StartUp folder ...but in AND version I dont have that file....
..one more question....how can I launch it manually? ...from where if i delete it?....or I should move it to other folder?
Strik3r
25th December 2007, 08:18 PM
how can I launch it manually?
Remove sms.lnk from start up, and after that, after device-start launch "Messaging" un Start - infosharp will be launched.
Yesterday Boriskin on wce give dll, with it you can sens SMS from standart outloock... But it is only russian now....

First, thank's for the very fast rom! It's really incredible what you do with a mpx200, a cellphone announced in 2003!

Hello Strik3r,
thanks for this new ROM, I really like that it can sed SMS without additional program, this is HUGE plus.
But I also have some problems. For me this ROM is VERY slow, I had China 06 ROM installed before and it was much faster (any possible solution for this?). I dont mean programs, but OS itself, settings are very slow, writing message and so on..
And even if I set English language in OS and in some programs, there are still too much russian texts and not only in Explorer or notepad... its also in CeleTask>Utilities, WM5S, Settings and almost in every other program. I dont understand single word in russian so its quite difficult for me :(
Do you plan to release complete English verion maybe with some performance updates?
Thanks again for this ROM anyway with SMS sending is best out there and kep up the GREAT work please ;)

For me this ROM is VERY slow, I had China 06 ROM installed before and it was much faster (any possible solution for this?)
I can explain it only one way: new core, new version of os... Chinees rom based on my old AKU0.4, and now it is AKU0.5 May be that eat more resources... I can't do something :)
CeleTask>Utilities
It can be only in one lang... Thats why it is Russian.
Settings
Where?
Do you plan to release complete English verion maybe with some performance updates?
In my plans - next build must be based on new AKU, when it be shared for peoples... So - I don't know when it will be, and that it will be ;) Anyway i try to make eng mui for resco, notepad, and maybe WM5Torage

30th December 2007, 10:17 PM
Thank you for quick respond.
So in new core there are SMS but its slower? Ok, I think SMS sending is better :D
By settings, I mean the folder where is OS setings icon and the other one, I dont know what it is, but title says Easy Twak and there are some green flags :)
And that "CeleTask>Utilities" I said beacuse I click on somethig there and than I cant find any network (now its back, but it take me a while :)
I like how all the programs are built into OS (if all of them are usefull like in your ROM), but is possible to make clean WM6 English ROM so we can install programs after that (ENG versions)? Is there any disadvantage or too complicated?
Strik3r
30th December 2007, 10:56 PM
So in new core there are SMS but its slower?
No :) It is just SMS-fix by Boriskin, not core.
I dont know what it is, but title says Easy Twak
Author of this program dont want to share it for eng.speeking users :(
I click on somethig there and than I cant find any network
It is flight mode :) You can rename it manually.
I like how all the programs are built into OS (if all of them are usefull like in your ROM), but is possible to make clean WM6 English ROM so we can install programs after that (ENG versions)? Is there any disadvantage or too complicated?
It is possible, but i dont want to do it. IMHO - it is soft-minimum, which must be in the phone. And Eng-Rus build - it is necessity (In the past i've make eng and rus builds separately).

Your answers are great and thanks for so much information, I am sorry that I will bother you again :o
Is it possible to download SMS-fix by Boriskin separently and install it (to my previous ROM)? I think it will be best solution for me :D (I have tried my friend Google but cant find anything :( ).
Thanks for explanation of EasyTweak and flight mode ;)
I only wanted clean ROM because this ROM could be language independant other than that I like preinstaled software (if its only necessary programs like in your ROM).

if u are using the motorola upgrade wizard sent to u with your 2002 rom you should know that sometimes it fails to identify your roms when the absolute path
is too long.i can suggest you try to copy/paste all your roms in your desktop before flashing the phone.at least try to reduce what we call "the absolute path"
of your roms in computer sciences before trying to select them through the upgrade wizard. good luck:)

Hi, Strik3r!
First of all, I'd like to thank you for the work you've done for us!
And thanks for that ROM editing utility, but there is one issue - Russian chars... When I unpacked it, I got two folders: ÉąĄá¬ÔĘÓ«óáşĘą »Ó«ŔĘó¬Ę and Ĺí«Ó¬á&Éáží«Ó¬á... I'm using Total Commander. I finally found out what it is, but it was problem for me and I'd appreciate if your later posts would be free of Russian or other "bad" chars, because I found your work extremely useful for me ;)
BTW using chars which aren't in iso-8859-1 is always problematic, for example you can find hundreds of questions like "why can't I flash asi_'s WM6?" with plain solution - remove Turkish characters from the ROM path, or about month ago fell our school's computer network, because our supervisor upgraded the main server and the upgrade didn't like Czech chars...
Thanks in advantage ;)
P.S. yes, I'm from the Czech Republic and I understand Russian - I'm often going to wce.by forum :)

Thank you very much much for this great ROM. Really having fun with it :-)
I found one problem with my provider (Vodafone Germany).
I received every 10 minutes a text message from "Network" with "Vodafone D" as message. Very annoying.
This thread http://www.ppcsg.com/lofiversion/index.php/t68743.html lead me to the solution. I had to turn of "Channels" in Settings.
Everything else works great!

Hi, am pretty new to this i'm afraid so it could be I did/didnt do something important and obvious but it looks like this ROM killed my MPX200  I managed to get it working absolutely fine as mentioned in previous posts (looks great, fast, seemed pretty stable- was very impressed, and I was looking foward to using my MPX200 again) however after a couple of hours of pretty light use- just exploring, messing around with display settings and such like, I turned it off, inserted a different SIM card, and the unit will not power on anymore- does not respond to being plugged in at the wall or by USB (to my XP SP2 PC).
Before I turned it off to use another SIM, I installed a program called WM5TaskMan, transferred about 50MBs of MP3 files (using the WMStorage app for most, but ActiveSync for the last few), and linked it up to my PC using ActiveSync (version 4.5.0) to install Microsoft Office OneNote2007. I then turned the phone off (power button, as usual), removed battery, inserted a different SIM and tried to turn on but no luck. I've tried leaving the battery out for about 6 hours, and then leaving the charger plugged in for about 6 hours. Also plugged it into the PC for half an hour. No response from the phone on either screen at any point. Wont respond to hard reset command, and cant reinstall the ROM as my PC doesnt know its plugged in. Is this one dead? :(
Its no big deal as I never used the phone anyway, but its a bit of a dissapointment. Still, i'm currently bidding on another MPX200 on ebay and maybe I can give it another go!
Any help or advice offered from anyone would be much appreciated. I hope that even if my phone stays dead, this will somehow have proved a useful excercise reporting this problem.
Anyway, while it worked it was a very nice build; so nice that i'm going to spend my money on getting another phone to try again :p So thankyou very much Strik3r (and any other contributors), you're doing some pretty amazing work :) I look foward to your next build, hopefully i'll be trying it again.
All the best

Hi, although no one got back to my last post (and thus i'm assuming there aren't many active mpx200 users around anymore) I thought I should post an update regarding my situation- just for refference and incase anyone was put off by my last post.
My mpx200 (the same one I had the problem with, I wasnt lucky on ebay) managed to fix itself. I left the battery out of the phone and didnt attempt to do anything with it for a couple of days, then last night I popped the battery back in and tried to charge- and was suprised to see the phone started charging (while turned off- charging status indicated on the small outer screen) and after a couple of hours, I powered it on and success. Its as though no problem ever occured. I find it quite odd- I am absolutely sure it wasnt simply a case of the battery running dry as I attempted to charge it several times after it went wrong- for hours, using both the wall charger and via USB and nothing happened. I guess it just 'forgot' that it had decided not to power on.
But anyway, very happy. I simply love this phone now- has rendered by old iPAQ obselete; i've set up an infrared keyboard and installed office mobile with onenote, a great note-taking solution. Its very stable (one crash so far after a full days messing about- If it were still on 2003SE it probably would have crashed more), pretty quick, looks great and i'm generally really happy with it. Need to try and find the MMS .cab file that was discussed in another topic (please if anyone has an english version of this- post here!) but just a great job. Thanks very, very much Strik3r :D

I've had a go at installing that .cab and didnt have any luck but it may be worth a try. It appears that you can add MMS functionality with a .cab- just a matter of finding a working english one I guess! No luck my end so far, but will post back if I find anything.

From all the roms out there, this one is the best. Thanks to you, my phone is revived again :) But why not consider making an WM6 without integrated programs?
You said you dont want to, but what happens when those integrated programs go out of date?? We have to install double
Me and others would like to see a "clean" ROM. Give us a clean ROM and we shall worship you~! :D

The installation of this v2RC4F ROM was really straight forward and easy to install, although it took me a while to change the language to English, since I have no understanding of Russian at all.
I'm very impressed by the speed and stability of v2RC4 Fast ROM.
The only issues I had with the WM6.1 was when I did a Power Off, then my MPx200 failed to switch on again...
I removed the battery for a few minutes and then I was able to turn it on again.
Other than that, the only downside for me about this ROM is that all the applications aren't translated into English too - which is a minor.

in next build will be more English :) If you want, now i can give you cab with Mui fore some applications (Resco explorer, Celetask...). Im just forget to insert that mui into rom :(( I remembered just now...

Thanks for all your efforts, Strik3r. It would be great if you can post a MUI before you even release a next ROM version.
By the way, does the Fast version include the T9 English language and the Classic doesn't? I've installed the Classic version now instead of the Fast version, since the Fast one does not include the ability to synchronize Email with a Microsoft Exchange server via GPRS :(
Is it normal for the phone to stall when you press and hold the HOME key? In previous versions (ie. WM2003) that would've given you the options of shutting down, airplane mode on/off and selecting profiles (normal/silent/automatic).

Great!
FasT version of mpx200 ROM is the fastest ROM ever. I would like to thank you.
Strik3r: Please, could you make clean FasT version of ROM? Without any Russian applications, folders...
Please, not everyone like TCMP player with winamp icon, russian folders, russian language in Jbed, Notepad, RegEdit etc. These applications can't be uninstalled! :-(
Make some Clean FasT version, please...

oh no, GPRS doesn't work :-(
edit: I flashed GSM Radio v1.00 (from BEN-6-1000-034) and GPRS works. But only once after reboot. I can send MMS or use IE, but next GPRS sessions doesn't work. I must reboot phone again :-(
How can I remove mapping PowerButton to Celetask? I want to display Flight mode/Profiles menu by PowerButton not Celetask. I use xBar, which is the best :-(

Great work again Strik3r!
Can you tell what the exact difference is with v2RC4F?
Because I'm quite happy with that one, so don't know if I should upgrade or not.
(in first post you say processorspeed is faster. higher than 138?)
:D

The ROM works quite nicely, although my MPx200 got quite hot because of the 156MHz clock speed - so I'm setting the clock speed back to 132MHz every time my phone restarts...
Now I'm just looking for instructions & tools to fully integrate an English MUI

garbol, WMP work :) You need just to find wmplayer.exe in Windows directory.
And you can choose frequensy of CPU by yourself - there are 6 firmwares in archives that differs only CPU clock. My MPX work nice on 174mHz, but your MPx can not work on this clock. So try different FWs, and enjoy :)

thanks for you reply! i asked because WMP in your V2 seems to not working... i noticed that in your V2 if i try to launch the WMP, the wait cursor seems to just keep on waiting...
anyways, will try this once i have time this weekend...
thanks by the way for this update! :)

Hi, thank for the rom, i download it and flash it using windows vista ultimate 32bit, no prob, it showed 100% and after that, i did the master reset with clean registry hive and format storage, I have a 1gb sd, after 20 mins, still the blank screen, then i did the other steps to disconnect, left key, etc and i power it on and it stays in the beginning, it has been like that for 3 hours, i dont know if the sd memory is to big or not, but i really need 1gb, its a normal sd card but it just stays there "wm6.1 [rc4.1b]" and the background pic.
i also tried the rc4.2b at 138, 168 i think so and nothing, none of them worked, my installation procedures were as normal.
pressed left and power, connected the phone, opened upgrade wizard and installed the image, removed the battery, added the sim and sd and master reset, still nothing. thanks for the help

There is no mirrors :)
jonathanp2008,
1) Format SD card on PC
2) Other versions of WM6/5 worked with what SD card?
Phone hardware support SD cards to 4gb (But drivers un WM5/6 show only 1, and no more). But your SD card may be too slowly to work from it.
