i see everybody on here talking about roms, whats the big deal?
whats the benifits of upgrading?

Here is just a stream of conciousness for the first couple of pros I think of:

Getting rid of the bloatware you hate,
adding more stuff that you love,
cool new themes and interfaces,
faster & speedier deviceThe only con would be that you should make sure you read the wiki and the appropriate threads, so you're well versed in installing hardSPL, flashing and how to manually enter bootloader mode, as you can mess up your phone and you'll be the only one to blame...

"Best Roms" are a matter of preference. Read what each includes, and pick the one for your device that has what you want.

Flashing is essentially wiping the factory information from your phone, and replacing it with information some one else has compiled.

As stated above, make SURE you read all instructions, and follow them, or you will have a new term. Called Brick.
