So Dutty, what rom are you using on your phone? I have a tilt that I dropped the HTC Rom on and I'm interested in changing to something else. I'm looking for the fastest, sleekest, just all out coolest Rom out. Thanks man.

Big thank you to both Dutty and Nadavi for this touch dual dialer skin:) finally I can get rid of the hideous Orange themed dialer on my dual. If it's ok with you guys I'm going to post a link to this thread from Niki upgrading forum so other Orange dual owners can unbrand their dual!! Once again many thanks!!

Nadavi

Few Discoveries:
Add a battery indicator to the dialer:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Phone\bShowBatteryIcon
edit this to
"1".
opens up additional menu in the dialer.
HKLM\Software\HTC\Phone\NikeOptionOnOff
Set this to "1"
Change the Dialer completly to regular one:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Phone\SmartDialingOnOff
Set this to "1"
I guess this fits to the owners of HTC Nike as well.
Enjoy :)
Nadavi.

actually did read the thread. The bug i as i understand it was a rotation during a video call. On the original thread there was talk of being unable to dial from landscape mode. I havent burned this one in yet as I do quite a bit of landscape mode dialing. Maybe I misunderstood?

I tried the cab on my Wizard and it wouldn't install. Tried dropping the files directly in \Windows and doing the reg entries from the RGU but didn't appear to work and phone got really slow. Wound up doing a hard reset to clear it out (probably could have deleted the files and regentries but I didn't do a backup since I just use that phone for testing right now).

On my Tilt, if I open the keyboard, the dialer comes up just fine in Landscape, but there is no keypad. Instead you use the keypad on the keyboard (don't have to hit function or anyting it appears, just start dialing). Since I'm on a Tilt, I don't have video call capability anyway, so can't comment on that, but I doubt it works as has been stated.

Hi Dutty,
For somewhat reason ALex Kitchen (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser%20ROM%20Kitchen%20Tutori al) (buildos+packagetools2.7) doesn't regconize your OEM package at all. Then I tried to build the alternative OEM package base on Navdavi's cab by using "OEM package tutorial" (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=OEM%20Package%20Tutorial), now Alex Kitchen "see" the alternative one; however, I get "Double package or .DSM found!!! copy only from Packages Folder" when I build.
Any ideal? TIA.

Some issues I noticed with the dialer.
1) When I click on call history, the top NavBar disappeared.
2) When I mute the call, mute icon is not shown. I have not tried with headset but it is safe to assume that the whole StatusIcon is missing.
oh btw, I'm using a hermes.

Kin0Kin, nice to see you commenting here - I hope to see this dialer (with your refinements) in your next ROM :-)
I just installed it and must say I really like it. One possible suggestion would be to make the main number text (in the blue window) slightly smaller in order to display a full international number in the format +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx properly.

To use Dutty's OEM package, unzip his rar and copy to folder to .../kaiserkitchen/Packages. Then you have to create a "option.xml" similar the those in other packages folders, inside dutty's package folder.
Just copy one of the others, edit it and change its contents.
I changed the item name to the name of the folder and the guid line to "<Guid type="p">252a8b7d-79dc-4216-97a9-c5b32ca8a9a8</Guid>". Which is the name of the .dsm file.
That should do it.
PS.: However, within the ROM I built the dialer came all screwed up..

im also experiencing the navbar disapearing when using call history. it seems to start when you select messaging and it doesnt go away. id actually consider it a major flaw rather than minor as your unable to then close the call history. Other than that, good work and i look forward to a new one which rectifies these flaws as ill then reinstall it :)

You are right, turning it off and on solved the missing nav bar issue. However, these issues remain:
*When the dialer is installed as a cab*
1) Missing status icons
2) Menu shows TWO "Video Call Options"
3) When a call is being made, and the show keypad button is click, you can only hide keypad. It is not possible to go back to "call status" until A) the other party picks up the phone B) get out of the dialer.
With regards to #3, I'm not sure if this is a feature or a bug, but previous touch/kaiser dialer allows you to go back to call status after clicking show keypad. Then again, previous kaiser dialer doesn't have the "hide keypad" option at the first place.
I have not had the chance to try out any video call to verify if there are any more bugs.
Did you manage to fix the video tilt problem? Also, I have only tested the dialer as a cab, haven't tried cooking it in yet.

It works fine with me with K's Rom 1.30a (Hermes). However, as mentioned before, the status icons do not appear. The reason for that can be found in "phcanrc.dll". Namely, instead of using the control "MS_PHONE_STATUSICONS", that would use the icons from phcanoverbmp.dll, it uses the control "CUST_PHONE_STATUSICONS". I guess we need an extra dll that is not present in the package.

Hi - I'm a complete newbie to Windows Mobile so this might be obvious, but...
I'm using Dutty's Dialer skin as downloaded from the start of this thread, and it's brilliant - but when a call is open, the screen shows a dark grey gradient with black text. Is there any way to change the "Connecting...", phone number, and button text to be white or light grey? Otherwise it's pretty hard to read.
Otherwise this package is fantastic, the icons are far far better than the default Orange bleargh. Thanks!

Interesting, I've been meaning to ask the same question for a couple of weeks now, but couldn't locate the thread, this notification fixed that ;-)
Yes, it would be great to have the same turquoise gradient we get during a conversation when dialing out.

I've found a basic fix...
Schap's Advanced Config tool lets you diasble *all* dialler skins - installed or no. So, Dutty's DualTouch Dialler will replace the missed-call, received-call, sent-call icons with HTC defaults, and then disabling the dialler skin in AC gives you the default WM6 dialler - grey gradient background with nice large white text on it. It's not as pretty as Dutty's was otherwise, and it forces you to use Menu > filter > missed calls/received calls/sent calls to switch between each list (Dutty's has four large finger-friendly tabs along the bottom edge) - but anything's better than the horrible Orange one.
I'm just going to wait for an official HTC / WinMo ROM which I can use to completely scrub the entire phone of its Orange tendencies without clashes. All I want is a consistent UI!

Got the aforementioned ROM here (http://rapidshare.com/files/75629679/RUU_Nike_HTCASIA_WWE_1.31.707.09_Radio_Nike_1.58.1 6.27_signed_Ship.exe). Flashed and all working beautifully.
I think there must have been a glitch dumping the original HTC dialler skin to a .CAB file, since in the HTC ROM it uses white text (a huge improvement).

Hello, thanks for this dialpad.
I has it working in a Polaris with original ROM in spanish fine but with this two problems:
1)The "left" soft button text is missing, but anyway it works: when I press it the keypad hides
2) The four line begining botton from menu is missing, there is a white space. If I press it the phone dials the last number with #31# before number and a window appers with the message "Don't can't open the file "aam"..." and something about certificate.
Videocall doesn't works but may be due to the SIM: I have it cutting. I probe with another.

Simple question. I dont want install this unless it works as well as the OEM dialler I already have (Orange and very ugly, but works). Several people have mentioned bugs, inclding no video dialling and the call history disappearing. Can the authors please comment...are these isolated reports, bugs now fixed, or known bugs yet to be fixed? Thanks

I don't if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find it myself.
Using this dialer on my Kaiser with Official Tytn_II ROM, I found these two things under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE\PhoneExtendS etting:
First, string named "Message", whatever I type there will appear when I press the reight softkey on an incoming call, wich will open a new SMS text to the caller and will have the message put under the key already there. For example, I put "Busy will call later".
Second, Dword: "RemindEnable", change value from '0' to '1' will make the phone make a reminder sound if you have a missed call (only if the phone is awake), you can change the sound by changing "RemindTone" and can also change the script by changing "RemindToneScript".

Using L26 v4 from late May, but the Diamond dialer is still a little way from being production ready. I'd like to switch back to the dual touch dialer.
I know Dutty's made like 200 ROMs since December, but aside from changing the color of this dialer to red, is this still the dialer he uses? Is there an updated version anywhere?
Please advise. Thanks!
