Thanks Alex. I am one of the few who don't have the time (too lazy) to learn to cook a ROM (If it can't go in a microwave I don't touch it - LOL), so your spectacular pre-cooked ROMS are greatly appreciated. Will be sending a donation as soon as I get to my home computer. Thanks again.

Since Opera Mobile gets updated often, I've included the link to it on Opera's site in the main post so everyone gets the latest and greatest.

Hope this helps...

My residential DSL is slooow, and believe it or not, I get the best 3G/HSDPA signals while driving on the highway. Should be up in the next couple of hours or end of day (GMT-8) at the latest.

I'd like to load the HTC Home Plug-in and just use the big clock display when on the Today screen with the smaller clock displayed in the tray when in programs. The animated battery indicator that loads by default seems to conflict with this (and the HTC Task Manager tab if installed and enabled). Is there a way to modify the registry to disable the battery indicator that the ROM defaults to in the tray and also a way to turn off the tray clock when HTC Home is installed? I've tried a few different options without any luck. Thanks in advance for the help. :)

Hi Alex,
I'm trying to download your ROM but it's really really slow... I'm in a hurry to test it (the HTC.156.MM4 version) !!!
Not any alternative solution to download it ?

@Dramacydle : I think KaiserTweak should help you to have what you want

I've been feeling sick, so I haven't had a chance to leave my home to tether/upload. I'll try uploading later tonight when things are quieter and my 128kbit uplink isn't as saturated...

edit: Uploads are slowly progressing. Check the first post.

This is part of quickmenu. Start/quickmenu/option/exclude tab/uncheck 'show battery on taskbar'.

And also a way to turn off the tray clock
Use KaiserTweak or Advanced Config for this one.

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the quick reply and help. The "Show battery on taskbar" was under the "View" tab for me, but luckily I found it. The clock was taken care of in KaiserTweak, like you said. Another question: is there a way to remove programs that were installed with the ROM since they're not listed with the RAM programs under "Remove Programs?"

No MMS included, but you can download and add it as a CAB from either Dutty's or Kyphur's cab collections.

Shouldn't be the ROM as I've hosted a LAN party via WMWiFiRouter for 6 hours. You could install KaiserTweak to adjust the disconnect on idle parameters, as they're currently at Microsoft defaults (30 seconds?)

Hope this helps...

Hey, i am new to this forum but I love all the information on the site. I know this sounds like a stupid question, but do you HAVE to flash the rom in order to install all the cooked roms posted on the site. I know I can do the soft reset to get rid of all the bloatware, but I am concerned with flashing the rom and not knowing what I am doing. I don't want to ruin my tilt so soon.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Go to the ROM Upgrading section of the Kaiser Wiki... read each thread fully. There's been alot of helpful people (_Alex_ being one of them) who have gone to great lengths to make it as easy to do as possible. It's all there for you... but you have to dig a bit.

You have to unlock the cid... see here:

AT&T will be quick to blame you if you ask for a replacement for a device w/ a cooked ROM.

However, there are methods to revert back... search forums.

By the fact that you bought one of these devices puts you in the the upper 95th percentile of techo-geekiness (at least in the USA). And the other fact that you a browsing these forums means you'll likely flash your ROM... as soon as the anxiety is replaced with knowledge. I will warn you... it's addictive. There's so many smart people on this board with great ideas... that it's hard to stop tweeking.

Hi all,

I'm using the Multimedia version of this ROM and notice the following issue when viewing SMS messages and emails:

The vertical scrollbar for SMS goes at the bottom of the message when I click on a message. I have to scroll up. For emails it goes towards the middle and I have to scroll up also.

Seems to be a registry setting. Can anyone else see if they have a similar issue? Never experienced this with older version of the ROMs. I'm going to search for a registry key that I may be able to change but appreciate any info if anyone else have this issue.

Solution
Should have searched first. The solution is to disable the D-pad navigation.

Alex,

I installed the multi-media version AT&T today for a little while and was quite impressed.

The only problem I was having with it was that there is just NOTHING on the today screen. With a blank slate like that, I am just not creative enough to come up with a theme.

For anyone,

what clock, tabs etc. are you using with this ROM? Does everyone just install HTC Home? I tried that but wasn't able to get the big digital clock.

I loved the ROM though. With Dutty's, I absolutely CAN NOT get MMS to work on his non-tilt roms. With this, I just installed the MMS Arcsoft cab and worked great. The autocomplete in sms and emails was working also. The response time was amazing.

I just didn't have an informative today screen, got a little freaked about it, and flashed away.

I guess I'm just bored by HTC Home in all the dutty roms and am looking for something a bit different, but easy to install with a big clock.

I DID try the trial versions of SPB Plug and Mobile shell and Weather, and Diary for a while with it. Ultimately, I kept getting the "hourglass" that it was thinking about every second or two. Constantly. It finally went away after I uninstalled SPB Weather. I don't know what happened. I did like the SPB stuff, but I guess I just need more opinions.

Thanks.

augster,
I was also using the HTC Home but got a bit tired of it. It's nice though. However, I've since changed to a different setup. I'm using a port of the Samsung clock, SPB Weather and just displaying Tasks, Calendar, and Messages. This works well for me. Here's a screen shot of what it looks like. If you're interested in the Samsung clock, take a look at the link below.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=315762&highlight=samsung+clock

Hope that helps. I actually like SPB Weather better because it gives more details.

Cool. It looks nice and simple.

Yeah, I don't know what happened when I installed all the SPB trial stuff. I sure did like the weather program on it.

I am looking at a bunch of different theme types through rltoday. I think most of it is just to high-brow for me to do unless I spend some REAL time learning to program the associations in the skin.xml files.

I'm using the V4 AT&T MM ROM...
Under Settings... Device Information..., the phone reports the ROM version of 1.56.00.00 / ROM Date 08/28/07 and a Radio version of 1.27.14.09. (I suspect the label on the ROM/ROM Date are not set properly)
I have an application (Zagat to Go) which requires .NETCF 2.0. It simply will not run with V3.5. (how can I confirm that is part of the ROM?). Do I need to configure something on device to "emulate" V2.0?Insight appreciated!

Next time chose your wording correctly ; you 'were NOT having problems with the ROMs themselves, Why didn't You write that you were having problems installing the ROM. That would have been more accurate statement. I tried all of Alex's ROM and had no problems that can not be resolved with a bit of tweaking.

Sounds like you might have issues with your boot loader. Try to install the ROM without the SIM or the SD cards inserted in device.

I believe that how is supposed to work. Whenever you reset the device it resets your trial for 3 more days from the reset date.

This is related to enabling the DPAD navigation for Internet Explorer. You need to disable it. You can disable it with KaiserTweak I think. Had the same issue.

good day alex nice cooking
just one question if you don,t mind too thin of a rom might not always be excellent too much of anything is never good outcome?

It's always a fine line that any chef walks when creating a ROM. I prefer simple and light, as you can install anything on it as a cab after flashing...

Can any tell me if the midlet manager is the same as Cloudyfa_EsmertecJbed.cab. I find that version superior as it works as fullscreen with Opera Mobile
Should be the same. See this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1483665&postcount=24) for Cloudyfa's version info, which is the same as the one in the ROM.

_Alex_

I just ran the AT&T v4 UltraClean ROM through SPB Benchmark to get a base benchmark for my own ROM's based on your v4 cooking kit. Thought I'd post the results here for you.
Benchmark test 1 final index: 830
Benchmark test 2 final index: 853
http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n105/JPOPE777/th_TiltBenchmark122907ALEXv4_2.jpg (http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n105/JPOPE777/TiltBenchmark122907ALEXv4_2.jpg)

The results for the AT&T MultiMedia are:
Benchmark 1 final index: 844
Benchmark 2 final index: 847
http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n105/JPOPE777/th_TiltBenchmark122907ALEXv4MM_2.jpg (http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n105/JPOPE777/TiltBenchmark122907ALEXv4MM_2.jpg)
HOLY COW!!! Guess that means this ROM is the fastest... See here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=352357) for an thread with benchmark info from other ROMs.

I'm using the V4 AT&T MM ROM...

Under Settings... Device Information..., the phone reports the ROM version of 1.56.00.00 / ROM Date 08/28/07 and a Radio version of 1.27.14.09. (I suspect the label on the ROM/ROM Date are not set properly)Right before the holidays, I was going crazy setting up the v4 cooking kit and something from AT&T ROM and HTC ROM got mixed up. Haven't had a chance to check out what just yet...

FWIW, the AT&T MM ROM is also the one I use and I haven't had any problems with it and neither has anyone else (according to this thread) so it seems like this is harmless :D

I have an application (Zagat to Go) which requires .NETCF 2.0. It simply will not run with V3.5. (how can I confirm that is part of the ROM?). Do I need to configure something on device to "emulate" V2.0?I believe you can have both installed, but you'd need NetCF 3.5 powertoys. I haven't used it myself, but here is the link (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c8174c14-a27d-4148-bf01-86c2e0953eab&displaylang=en). It may also require some cooking.

Hope this helps...

Can someone check the color of the icons in the phones call history using the ATT Multimedia ROM? Mine still show the blue icons and not grey to match theme. Just wondering if its my install or the ROM. So far this is the only minor thing I've been able to find. Great ROM overall.

Hello Members,

I have installed the MMS Cab from Dutty's CAB downloads and still can't find the MMS application anywhere on the device. I have hidden/restored the proxy and still nothing. Anyone have this issue or can someone help? Is Kyphers MMS cab any different? Thanks for everything...You all ROCK!!!

Nice ROM.

I am having an issue with Opera Mini.

I downloaded the following file: opera-mini-4.0.9800-advanced-int.jar

I get to a permissions screen about Opera Mini being an untrusted app and asking if I would like to allow net access.

I select yes. It goes to the next permissions screen saying Net access with two radio buttons allowing me to either choose "yes, but ask me next session" or "yes, but ask me next time"

The first choice immediately returns me to the first permissions screen regarding untrusted app. The second choice leads to a failed to connect to the internet screen with the only option being exit.

I was hoping since this is the first time I have had a problem with Opera Mini that this might be a setting in this ROM or that someone might know what I am doing wrong.

I'll look into it for the HTC ROM for future updates, but I don't believe it would be possible for AT&T because of the 14.09 radio.

Kyphur's cabs seem to be most compatible for most folks, so I'd stick to using that before Dutty's, especially for MMS. Glad other users have also experienced this too.

BTW, I don't use MMS, so I won't be adding it to the ROM since I wouldn't be able to troubleshoot it :D Better to leave it as a cab.

Nothing was put in to specifically allow or prevent this, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't work.

Fyi, did search around for phone dialers, managed to get TYTN phone dialer but still no option for video call. Is it because of the skin or the video option just doesnt work? I think by extracting it from Dutty's ROM should work but i'm gonna need time to discover that since my journey of flashing ROMs hasnt reached the final chapter yet....

Alex:

I tried on this ROM for few days and I got some strange problem:

It started with my friend told me that my cell phone was not reachable, I was surprised because it's on all the time. Then it had trouble to connect to the cell tower from my apartment, I tried to soft-rest it, it doesn't work. After about 10 minutes, it connected to the cell tower finally and I had 2 bar, however, I was not able to place any call.

I flashed with your old 1.6 ROM back, I was able to make phone call.

I think may be the new dialer is not totally compatiable with the Radio. Do you have similar problems?

what is sqlce mobile, and why is it necessary?

is there a way to get the default windows mobile splash screen back?

For awhile, I have been considering using XDA-Live on my device, however, I am really liking what I see. I have a few questions abour your ROM though:

1. Is there any reason you implemented so few Registry Tweaks? I know its simple enough to just fire up Kaiser Tweak and change the values, however some of them seem so logiocal that it seems like it would just make sense to build them straignt into the ROM. Tweaks like A-GPS, TCP/IP stuff, Pocket IE tweaks, GPS in Photo data, ClearType in Landscape, HSDPA, etc, etc really would make sense to have just enabled by default. I wouldn't be opposed to integtrating all the KaiserTweak changes other than the HTC app specific ones into the UltraClean ROM.

2. When you say "ALL ROMS CONTAIN", are those the only programs that were left? I am not 100% opposed to recooking your ROM with a few of the programs that I feel are essential, but I would be interested to know if things like Windows Update, the Keyboard noises, HTC TaskManager, and ArcSoft MMS are removed because they are not included on this list. I am sure this is a terrible question, but they are also not listed on the MM list, so I just want to check.

3. If (and when) you decide to update this ROM, what kinds of changes would you likely be making? Would it be performance registry tweaks, slimming it down more, updating to newer versions of programs? This versions seems nearly perfect for me, so I am just interested in your thoughts on what changes you feel you might implement. Also, what kind of lifetime do you expect this ROM to have?

4. Does your ROM default to enabling or disabling the AT&T Proxies? Also, does it default to wap.cingular or isp.cingular (is isp.cingular even defined?

I know I wrote a lot, but I would greatly appreciate your answer. Also, if anyone else feels they can adaquatly answer the questions, feel free to. I know many of these questions can easily be answered by someone who is running the firmware.

All it does is change the theme and restart the phone so that the HTC version will auto-run & detect for connection setup. The phone dialer, windows media & comm manager skins are cooked in to this version. If you'd like, tell me which version you're using (AT&T or HTC) and I can include the v3 links (w/o skins) for your use.

what is sqlce mobile, and why is it necessary?
SqlCEMobile was installed by default on the stock ROM and since some apps require it. I've updated it to 3.5.

is there a way to get the default windows mobile splash screen back?

The wiki has threads for how to change splash screens.

Also, is there a cab of just MobiTV Unlimited hack? That's kind of the only thing I want from the multimedia rom.
You're the third person that asked, so I've put the link in the first post and right here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309844&highlight=mobitv+unlimited).

1. Is there any reason you implemented so few Registry Tweaks?
If you get the wrong combination of tweaks turned on, you get all SORTS of problems (e.g., power saving on SD card = SOD when using apps on SD card, etc.) so I tried to keep things simple so that I wouldn't have to update this ROM with a bug fix. Besides, even with the other tweaks off, the benchmarks for this ROM are insane :D:D:D

Yes, everything else that you've listed was removed. Kyphur's AT&T Tilt cabs are a good way to add most of the things back to the UltraClean ROMs.

Until I see some major innovations or a glaring bug, I have no want/need to update, unless I get bored and release a full ROM.

The UltraClean ROM was made so that everyone could have a extremely clean base to start on. The MM version is the one I use personally, minus the commercial/licensed software.

Everything else I now install as a cab. I just installed a new camera & HTC Album cab which works great and I've included it in the links in the first post. I've also begun testing out a new SRS cab too. I'll consider cooking one if not both into the next version of UltraClean & MM.

4. Does your ROM default to enabling or disabling the AT&T Proxies? Also, does it default to wap.cingular or isp.cingular (is isp.cingular even defined?wap.cingular and the proxies are enabled by default. isp.cingular isn't defined. I thought I put this info in the first post, but I've since updated the text to be less cryptic :D

Hope this helps!

OK so the OS is v5.2.1620 build 18125.0.4.2

In Helmi's Dynamic ROM from 2 months before I have OS v5.2.1978 build 18578.0.7.0

How is this possible?

Sorry, I guess I never checked that feature. It should be easy enough to fix by using the Adobe Reader registry entries and changing it to load up the picsel viewer executable.

If you want a quick fix, try grabbing the OEM packages and editing the Adobe RGU file, which can be renamed and imported as .REG into PHM Registry Editor.

I've been really busy as of late, so I'm not sure when I'll do this myself.

To get Picsel to open attachments automatically, I opened Picsel Browser, then settings, then files, clicking "none" than then clicking "all". The check mark next to .pdf doesn't ever change, but after doing this, my PDF's all open with Picsel, and I haven't installed Adobe at all.

I've been using the AT&T UltraClean ROM for a couple of days now. It's been pretty smooth, so I'll probably stick with it. It's the dialer that I'm not too fond of though. At first it was incredibly slow to input a number. It would also freeze at short, random intervals. I did a search, and I turned off smart dailing. Seems better now. The other problem is that the keys don't usually give visual feedback. If you quickly put in numbers, the background of the key doesn't go light gray like if you hold it down. I think the rotation (sliding open the keyboard) also takes longer. This happens in the comm manager as well. Also, is there a call button on this dialer or do you always have to use the front hard key?

I'm not sure what dialer was used in kyphur's XDA-Live (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=348522) (probably just the standard WM6 one), but it worked a lot better for me.

D'oh! I have installed ArcSoft MMS and cannot find anything how to create MMS

Any chance how to get this thing working or any chance how to get the default WM6 MMS composer working?

Thanks,
Gabriel

1. There's a problem with the backlight (on battery power tab) going off in 10 seconds even if set up to 1 minute. After soft reset it's back to 10 seconds.
Tried to use the regtweak hack (LockLevel -> 0), worked for a while even after soft reset, but now it strikes back again.

2. The MMS function would be nice to have in base ROM (ArcSoft not working after install).

3. default graphics (windows bootup logo, screen align setup background, owner info background,...) missing

4. cannot install HTC Plus (it installs but after soft reset there is nothing there, even in remove programs there is no mention about HTC Plus)

Hm... nothing else so far. ;)

Hope this helps to get your UltraClean ROM to be the best out there

So far I like it very much, pretty fast and stable

This is something that has occurred to me with XDA-Live v1.2 ROM also - would drive me CRAZY! But did a Hard-Reset and reinstall of all my cab's and it would be fine for quite a while, then it occurred again after I had done a lot of dinking with new cab's, installing, uninstalling, etc.

So I don't think it's unique to this or any other ROM, I think it is a "feature" of the Tytn II

Streaming Video not working for me, with or without hidden proxy. Tried with MEdiaNet access, WAP access, ISP access - no joy.

Tried again by installing RvBCrS_HTC_Streaming_Media.cab, which worked with XDA-Live, but here, it starts up and then immediately quits, displaying "Failed to Connect".

Quick question. I noticed the first post was updated yesterday and the date says 1-2-07 (which I assume to be -08); are these new versions of the ROMs? My ROM version in Devise Info says 1.56.00.00.

Thanks.
Nothing new, just saying that the ROM is stable and there won't be any changes any time soon...

You can turn the dialer off with Advanced Config.

Hope this helps...

1. Haven't seen this issue, which ROM are you using?

2. Kyphur's Arcsoft MMS cab is reported to work better than Dutty's. Have you tried this version instead?

I have a PDA Unlimited plan and the AT&T MM ROMs works for me since (flash) day one, just like the AT&T shipped ROM. As mentioned in the first post, it's using wap.cingular with hidden proxy enabled.

Connection setup on the HTC ROM will detect and use isp.cingular (at least with my sim card installed) and does not have the proxy cabs. If you're using the HTC ROM, you may need to change some settings manually.

Edit3: Are you referring to Cingular Video? I've set the user agent string in IE to be the correct one on the AT&T ROMs to use Cingular Video. KaiserTweak should be able to set this too for the HTC ROMs.

Hope this helps.

2. So you don't have any MMS composer in that UltraClean ROM? or if there's any, how to use it?

Thanks Alex for the ultra clean mm rom v4.
Two small issues.

1) When I get an email message and go to open it with the center button on the 5-way the email app gets minimised. Then I need to go to task manager to bring back the app and the message is there opened.
Is this due to the rom?
Anyone else have this problem?
Is there a fix?

2) After I flashed the rom the rom version still says 1.56.00.00 in device information.
Is that just because the 1.60 number was not added when cooking the rom?

thanx in advance.

I did a Hard Reset, installed nothing, and now YouTube videos will work - get fed into TCMP, but when I installed HTC Streaming Media it will now work with that. But, MobiTV aborts, showing "A network error has occurred. Please verify your connection is active and then restart MobiTV". However, I obviously do have an active PIE connection.

1. I think it might be after SKTools registry cleaning, just noticed it after doing such task... fixed by unsetting backlight timers

2. fixed by installing the ArcSoft MMS package posted above

3. fixed (uploaded back original images, 100kB won't hurt anybody)

I just loaded this ROM yesterday before trying Dutty's latest dual-touch and I while it sucked reinstalling all of my apps (vs using Sprite to restore) I got to say I just love this ROM. My phone is definitely much faster. And despite all the apps I have loaded up (below), I still have over 62MB Program and 100MB of Storage memory remaining. Very cool. Thanks Alex!

Apps loaded:

- SPB Pocket Plus
- SPB Mobile Shell
- SPB Traveler
- Pocket Informant
- FFF Contact Manager
- Resco Explorer
- Skype
- AE Button Plus
- TomTom Nav 6
- Word, Excel, etc.
- Lots of other smaller stuff

I installed the HTC version this afternoon. I like it being very compact and lean. On the other hand, I couldn't get MMS to work, even with Kyphers MMS cab.

I noticed that the build you have is not the latest, compared to what Schap and Dutty. Hopefully, you can release a newer lean build with the latest and include MMS. Thanks.

I have been running your Ultra Clean version for a few days now, and must say that it's the fastest one out there. (granted I haven't tried all the roms available) I love how clean this one is. I know that a lot of people ask to include this or that (MMS, etc.) but I love how clean it is, and personally I don't mind installing only the apps that I want manually. After all, that's the point of an Ultra Clean version isn't it.

Anyway, just wanted to stop by and say THANKS again for a spectacular ROM.

Wow. Very observant. I've checked and confirmed these are the AT&T blue defaults. I'll add this onto the todo list for future updates. . . .

Is there a way to break these out (like in WM5) as separate .gif's or .bmp's or whatever they are - so one could keep a certain dialer, but change just the icons in speedlist and history? Some dialers are nice but have ugly icons for these things, and vice versa.

Hey, I love your rom Alex! Just have 2 questions:

1. Is the Bluetooth Audio Fix from AT&T's 1.61.502.2 in the v4 UltraClean ATT Rom?

2. Just curious.. Why is the CPU Index so much lower than the other cooked roms? Yours is 1496.66 while all the other roms are around 1750.

Two problems I'm having that I haven't been able to remedy:
(I'm using MultiMedia Tilt ROM on my Tilt)
Would appreciate constructive criticism of my attempted remedies.

1. Can't get MobiTV to work, whether I have WAP no proxy, ISP, or MEdia Net connection enabled. I always get popup saying "A network error has occured. Please verify your connection is active and then restart MobiTV", even though I do have an active connection. Suggestions for network and proxy settings and/or other settings that will enable this?

2. Can't figure out a way to get Long Press Red End Key to invoke Lock + Disconnect GPRS, (which is the default behavior in XDA-Live ROM, and I had grown fond of). I do have "HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\LongEndFunction" set to 1, and I do get Lock when I press the End Key, but not GPRS disconnect. I know it's not a big deal because I can set GPRS timeout with Kaiser Tweak, but again, I like to make things work . . .

Help!

First let me say that I love this ROM (the AT&T MultiMedia one). It has been great!

Right now I am having problems however.

I flashed this onto my Tilt (it works freekin great!). Then I bought the extUSB 3-in-1 Adaptor for HTC TyTN so I can use normal headphones. Now when it is plugged in, it wants to constantly phone the last number dialed when it is plugged into this adapter. It will just randomly decide to dial the last number.

Somebody else has told me that they are using one of Dutty's ROMs with this adapter and nothing is wrong at all. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks! Please help!

I have noticed a few times that when going into Comm Manager that the Beam box indicates Beam is on. Not sure how it is turning on but when it is on, the battery drain is much faster than with it off. When I remember to check and make sure it is off, I can go a couple of days, generally, between charges - although with heavy usage that might be less. Might want to check to see if the Beam is on. Hope this helps.

This is the same as the originally posted ROM, correct? Have been no changes or updates from ROM version 1.56.00.00 dated 8/27/07?

Thanks.
No changes for now. The only registry changes between the AT&T 1.6 and 1.61 ROM is the following:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\Bluetooth]
"PhoneVol"=dword:C8 ; Default value : 200 (GSM_GAIN_4)

Registry file is attached, import using PHM RegEdit...

okay, i feel like a noob, but i can't get PHM RegEdit to make the changes. i downloaded the file, unzipped it on my desktop, transfered the reg file to my Tilt, opened PHM RegEdit, but it can't find the file and the "Import" function is grayed out. i know it's simple, but what am i missing? Thanks.

I'm using the Lite ROM and am looking for a PDF viewer. The first post Picsel PDF Viewer is great compared to Adobe Reader, but I can't seem to find it as an installer (cab). Could you please post it or suggest a different reader?

http://pocketxpdf.sourceforge.net/ is an alternative reader, although I haven't tried it yet, as I've just found out the picsel pdf viewer requires a serial number to download, so I may need to release a new MM ROM with it removed. If you're a Treo 700w user and have a serial # for your device, you can download Picsel PDF Viewer here: http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/picsel/index.html

I'm not sure why import doesn't work on PHM Regedit either, but you can either use PHM Regedit to manually change it (the value is there at 100, increase to 200), or download the .reg file and double click on it in File Explorer or Total Commander, which should prompt you if you want to install (same as Windows).

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Alex. Unfortunately, PocketXpdf takes way too much time to open and render a ~8 MB pdf I use frequently (almost 56 seconds). It's great that it can go full screen and doesn't make that clicking sound when you're panning around (when you hide the scroll bars). I'll stick with Adobe Reader LE 2.0 for now (which I still can't beleive doesn't have full screen or an option to hide the toolbars or scoll bars), as it can open the file nearly instantly.

I like this ROM being ~164MB free storage, but the free memory is 65MB, which is 9MB less than Q-Mobile v1.2.

Is the free memory figure correct?

Are you referring to the UC or MM ROM? I'm using a modified MM ROM (with more applications) and after a soft reset, i'm seeing 73MB w/o MicroSD and 69MB with.

Hope this helps!

One is created by Kyphur (from AT&T 1.60) and the other was created by Dutty.

I haven't checked recently, but I seem to recall Dutty's Office cab was around prior to AT&T 1.6 being released, so it's possible it's from an older ROM.

Hope this helps!

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\Bluetooth]
"PhoneVol"=dword:C8 ; Default value : 200 (GSM_GAIN_4)

The first line above shows the path to the key & value. Each "\" represents another folder you'll need to navigate through in the folder hierarchy in PHM Regedit.

The second line shows the key and it's value. The semi-colon and all the text afterwards is commentary.

On your ROM, 'PhoneVol' should be set to 100. Increase to 200 by either replaciing 100 with 200 or by using the up arrow.

All changes are automatically saved, however, may not be applied until a soft reset. Soft reset your phone to be sure the settings have taken effect. It doesn't hurt to check if the settings have saved over the reset too.

Hope this helps!

Very interesting - when i go to the location, all i have is "AutoSensorPage" under Name and 1 (0X000001) under Data. i am not a complete noob and am sure i am in the right place in the registry, but nothing like what you are describing. just to make sure, i soft reset the phone and looked again - still the same. weird.

No worries, if the value isn't present, go ahead select 'Edit' on the bottom and choose 'new dword value'. When presented with the next screen, enter in 'PhoneVol' for the value name and '200' for the value. Leave the base (decimal) as is and press OK.

Proceed onwards with the rest of the instructions (soft reset & confirmation) and you should be good to go...

Hope this helps!

I am referring to both Lite versions (ATT=65MB & TynII=67MB) with 8GB MicroSD.

BTW, how can I enable the video call?

Thank you for the reply and the great ROMs.

[Non-serious issues: ATT Lite has a non-working voice icon; and the TouchFlo icon is missing].

I must say this is the best, most stable and fastest ROM I have tried to date.
Most ROMs I try get flashed over in a few days because of some bug.
But so far all I have found is my earpiece will not work with the phone, Ot will connect and pair but can not talk with it. Also could have used the Bluetooth explorer this weekend, but no biggie.
Keep up the good work :)

I finally got the WMWifiRouter in this ROM to work, took a few tries. Anyway, I notice it is ver .80. So is it worth it and also will it screw anything up, if I replace the wmwifirouter.exe in the /windows with a newer ver of .89?

Doubtful that it'll be an issue... FWIW, I'll be leaving WMWiFiRouter out of future versions until development slows down :)

Good Idea, back when CommMgr Pro was brand new I had the same problem with cooking it in, everytime I cooked I had to start over for new version of the app.

Great ROM BTW.

Is the Splash Screen :Alex's ROM Stripped for your pleasure" the Sub Splash.nb?

I have to manually delete the var.chunk files as well.

Ok, I manually delete the vars.chunk... it reset MobiTV... but will NOT reset XMRadio. Unless the vars.chunk for XMRAdio is located else where....

Ok... searched the whole phone for *.chunk.. and found the xmradio-vars.chunk.

it's in \windows

After deleting this MANUALLY... XMRadio reset back to 3 days.

I am going to try to set +R +S +H to see if that will lock down those files so it will stay 3DAYS all the time. Until the resetter works.....

Rather than take up 2x space to have this application installed in \program files instead of \windows, I removed this from the v5 ROMs.

Not sure if the volgain fix helped, but here's a cab which does the registry entry for you...

"PhoneVol"=dword:C8 ; Default value : 200 (GSM_GAIN_4)

Ok new info.
I can pair my earpiece Jabra BT 250v and that works fine.
Once paired I can get it withthe "phone" ie the little head phone shows up in the phone display and all is good.
Once I turn it off I can not get it back.
Phone BT on first then Jabre.
Jabre on first then phone BT.
no difference.
Any ideas ?
