View Full Version : HTC Home works on Excalibur !

I found the CAB in another thread. There were warnings about Installation, another Guy had to do a Hardreset to get his Device booting.
I tried out and on my O2 XDA Cosmo with WM6 it works fine.
I think the Device becomes slower but I like the Homescreen.

Try it on your own risk!!!!!!!!

You canīt choose the Persons. When you choose "favorite People" and switch the Middle Button (I donīt know the name :o ), then -on my device- a new window opens with the saved numbers.

This is a nice screen, however, it seems to slow my phone down a lot and I am running the Rogers ROM with it...

I can't get the contacts shortcut to work. When I select it the 'config' screen comes up and disappears a second later not allowing me to put contacts in the shortcut. Any ideas out there.

Worked fine on my phone with the Rogers Rom. Looks nice but would look better if it had vista aero effects. Free memory does drop from 22MB to 15 MB on the Rogers Rom.

Did that. I had the same problem. Every time you install something else on it, it goes right back to acting like that. :( I dunno If i like it anymore.

Hmm, I seem to be having a problem aswell....everything installs fine, but once I restart my phone...it tries to load at startup and comes up with the message-"Keyboard Hook failed. Program closed" or something along those lines...any ideas guys?

Try using this version. It doesn't seem to have the issue with the contacs and takes up less memory.

Facade is not required. All you need to do is install the Cab file.

Tried it, nice but I wanted access to the MRU so here is what I came up with.

Just extract to your SD card and it will appear in the Home Screen Layouts.

This is the HTC Home replacing the Appointments with MRU.

See the attached screenshot.

the full package (i need appointments) and works great. Just scroll it down to see the MRU!

Rather than require more plugins, I've edited the Home file again ;)

HomeMRUNotify1.home.xml - Appointments on one line (hopefully) and MRU, without a full page down.

HomeMRUNotify2.home.xml - Just a modified HTC.home.xml with the MRU addition from the HomeMRU.home.xml that was posted before. I've added fgcolor so appnames show up light grey like sergiopi had.

Use the version posted on post #15. It still has this bug but rebooting it seems to fix the issue and MyPeople will function until the phone is rebooted again. On the other versions, rebooting still does not make it work.

I had to run SP_AllowCertificateInstall.cab before Gregory HTCHome.cab. Then everything ran ok. Great theme. Thanks.

Go to home screen settings and select Windows default as your home screen layout and for color scheme, choose windows mobile green. That should put the phone back to default htc green theme.

when you get to the fahrenheit/celsius selection screen, use left-right buttons to change that field. kinda lame since everything else on that page you use up-down to change fields...

Guys,
Just noticed my this CAB screwed up my WIFI. I try to turn it on, it will search and connect and shut off.
I have the new WM6 1.33 ROM and had not experienced this problem until I installed this HS.
I went ahead and uninstalled it, but the problem is still there.
Any Ideas?

Hi,
I have a couple of questions,
First I downloaded the N version of the Gregory HTC Home and the cab install was unsuccessful, so I downloaded the version on the first post and it was finally installed, but in Home Screen when I choose the HTC the home screen displays a "The program is incompatible ..." so, any hint about how to install it on my S620?

I first tried with the T-Mobile WM6 ROM and then with HTC WM6 ROM and had the same results.

Any help would be appreciated.

I tried it with my 6.1 and it needs a black background to work properly; also, if you want to uninstall there is a good chance you will have to have a hard reset in order to get your main panel-based home screen back.

Welcome to the forum
This behaviour is possibly caused because low RAM space, try to eliminate some non-using apps or files and try again. It worked for me
