View Full Version : Activesync issue

I have a weird activesync issue. I use vista with wmdc 6.1. After synchronizing my X7500 (stock wm6 upgrade) and taking it out of the cradle, activesync on my X7500 does not seem to "release". The software hangs (which can be seen by the double arrow connection icon at the top, which should not be there anymore). I need to go into settings/memory to manually kill the program, which then is indeed reported as hanging.

I own more PDA's, also with WM6, and the X7500 is the only one with this behaviour.

Does anybody else have this, and maybe a hint to a solution?

Have you tried a soft reset?

Hi,

I use the same configuration as you do (VISTA with WMDC 6.1 on HTC X7501 – WM6), I had quite few synchronisation issues and I learned that: REPLLOG.exe which is the WM6’ native sync file and CPROG.exe MUST be kept on (active) AT ALL TIMES. There are several programs out there (Magic Button, WisBar, Spb Pocket Plus, etc) which among other functions take over and truly CLOSE the applications when the OK, upper right button is pressed, rather than minimizing it as is set by default in WM6; IF this happens to REPLLOG.exe (active sync file) WM6 might (actually quite likely) loses the sync parameters, thus the active partnership, so next time when you connect the two it will ask you to reconfigure everything from the beginning.
One program which I really recommend buying is WisBar Advance which allows you to set exceptions: you set the OK button to truly close, with the exception of the 2 files I mentioned. Besides the little green, spinning, active sync symbol is kept hidden even though is hanging – nothing to be bothered about.
One other thing: I had to revert and come back to WMDC 6.0 as I had a very annoying sync problem with WMDC 6.1. As strange as it may seem this solved my issue: ActiveSync Support Code: 0x8503001C. If you happen to bump into it just remember the remedy.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, I will try this. I am actually using magic button. I'll remove it and see whether the problem goes away.

Update: issue does not go away after uninstalling magic button and soft resetting. Activesync still hangs.... and does not want to reconnect after this

Nacos,
I´m having since yesterday this strange and annoying "Support Code: 0x8503001C". I've tried everything until I found this post. The problem is that when I install WMDC 6.0 (from this source: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=83D513EA-9DF9-4920-AF33-3A0E2E4E7BEB&displaylang=en ) my computer installs it, but immediately and without asking anything, installs the "update", so I end having the 6.1 version.

What should I do in this case?
Thanks.

you actually need to remove the Windows Mobile driver update and the windows mobile device center, both show up under the add/remove programs on your windows pc
I even went to the extent of finding the folder for windows mobile device profiles and it's program directory and removing them from the drive.
That finally sorted out the problem. but i can't recall off top of my head what the folder names was

Cyberjak,
Very interesting. I have already removed both the driver and device center through the add/remove programs, but can't find the profiles. There is a folder in Windows directory that is call "Windows mobile": it has, among other stuff, the setup.exe, wmdcBase and wmdsync; it also has a "wmupdate". You think is there?
Please, I really need some help here. Can't install WMDC 6.0 alone.

Thanks :)
