hey guys lets write down the basic problems with the gene that we have faced....not 3rd party software problems but the system related problems. and any solutions...if one has... ill start with some

1. When you type a message and click send.. there is no notification and that message does not show in the sent items

2. sometimes the inbox shows (99999) items....when though you may be having just 2 items. it gets solved only when you reset the fone

3. I changed the theme from the HTC Default(green one) to any other (suppose grey theme)...and after one reset of i again change the theme to HTC Default.....THE TOP AND BOTTOM TABS WILL REMAIN GREY .DUNNO WAT HAPPENS

4. The left and right hardware keys are assigned to calender and contacts....Whenever you close a program by using (ok) button it closes....but contacts and calender does not close......dunno whyy???

No windows mobile works great out of the box. Tweaking is necessary just as it is in case of Windows on PC.

1. That can be configured using many programs like "Advance Configuration Tool".

2. This problem is only in very old versions of ROMs. And GENE comes in 3-4 different configs, care to mention which one you are having problem with?

3. Your theme registry is corrupt due to some non-standard theme you tried accidently. Backup your contacts, calender, sms etc data using PIM backup and do a hard reset. You'll loose applications installed to phone memory though.

4. You can always configure the HTC Task Manager to close these. These apps are used often thats why they are configured so. This always happen on most phones, and is a trend on Nokia phones, You never felt it cause they wont let you see it on their phones (cr@ps).

All in all, i think its more of you not-so-long experience with windows mobile platform that makes you feel so. Remember, its not a traditional phone, its a PDA and it has to be handled differently. :)
