HTC home screen plug in looks amazingly good on the 750 and functionally is one of my favorites plug ins (stylus free operation). Unfortunately, it partially screws up 750 hardware buttons assigned functions. For example, to to hang up a call you have to press OK button instead of red power on/off, to place a call you have to press central "select" button instead of green "call". Soft keys are OK.
I guess the plug in is originally designed for Hermes, worked fine on my previous 8525.

1. Install WM6 ATT ROM Update.
2. Install HTC Plugin Install.
3. Enable "Dial Lookup" and "HTC Home" Plugins.
4. Enable "Hide lookup Field" Option from Menu -> Preferences.
5. Modify a value on the registry:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\HTC Home\Type
and change the value of "type" to 4.
6. Modify a value on the registry:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\Dial Lookup\Type
and change the value of "type" to 4.
This enabled you to move "Dial Lookup" plugin above "HTC Home" plugin.
7. Goto
HKLM/software/microsoft/shell - new dword ShowTitleBarClock with value=1
This will force the clock to show instead of two battery icon on the top bar.
Enjoy.

Can someone build a cab with the latest 5 tab HTC Home screen with the reg edits already applied? If someone sends me the appropriate files/reg entries, I am happy to build the cab...I dont even have a Treo - doing this for a friend!

Anyone able to fix the hardware button issue or do the registry edits correct it?
This HTC homescreen just looks sick on the 750! I want to try it.
Anyone able to uninstall it?

HR will do it - got a question for the experts though - does this app interfere with com ports at all - I found that after installing this plugin my BT GPS couldnt connect to my 750v - or maybe its coincidence?

I like the HTC home plugin but I cannot use hidelogo at the same time...so one line at the top is burned by the ATT carrier logo. If you click on hidelogo you go into a loop of resets.

This thing is great. But I have a problem. For some reason the screen will not go blank when the "End call" button is pressed (Tried other buttons as well but nothing will turn it off). In fact the screen will not go black for about 10-15 sec. Anyone know why this would happen? Thanks

The quick dial does not let me choose which number to dial on a contact. ie. cell, home, work. Anyway to fix that?

Can you please post a step-by-step including the necessary files? I would like HTC home 2.1 with the 6 tab interface. Is there a way to build a simple cab that would install this on a Treo without having to make further registry entries?
Best,
MJB

I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix the power button on the treo 750 after home6 is installed.
Thanks

There is no need of registry changes...just look for home plugin cab and home plugin customizer cab here in this forum. If you want you can download different icons.

Let me clarify:
Does HTC Home 2.1 work without the need for various registry "fixes?" If so, I'm all good!
TIA,

I am using version 1.5 with the 6th tab added using the HTC Home Customizer. Works great except I am unable to configure the automatic ringtone profiles. :D

Hello all,
OK, this looks pretty cool and I think I'd like to try it, but I have some concerns...
1. Where can I get the latest version? I hear version 2.x fixes the need to monkey with the registry. No?
2. If I find I don't like it much how dose one uninstall it?
Enquiring minds want to know! :)
Cheers,
idyllic

Hey Gyn, you just click on Menu, from the home screen. The last option is preferences. click that then you will see "Hide Lookup Field".
I have not found a version 2 that actually works with the 750. if anyone finds one that works please post.

So im also wondering, Does the new HTC reequire you to mess with the registries? Ive downloaded the program and installed it and it show that it is in my phone installed, and i can change the settings, but i dont see it on my today screen? I had the HTC ver.1 installed and liked it, and now im trying to get this new one installed. If done a hard rest so none of the previous version is in my phone. Also i think i downloaded the right stuff, I downloaded from http://www.pocketemu.com/download.html. If someone could write up a new install instruction sheet or somthing, im sure it would be much appriciated by not only me, but everyone else too. Thanks!

What you downloaded from pocketemu is the customizer. You may have to reinstall v1 back on the phone then run the customizer to personalize the plugin.
